CHATSWORTH, Ga. - Ida Hartness Coleman died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 97.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Love Funeral Home with the Rev. James Whitmore and the Rev. Joe Baker officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
James Gibson
TUNNEL HILL, Ga. - James S. 'Gibby' Gibson died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at his home. He was 80.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Hyatt and the Rev. Thomas Black officiating.
Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Dianne Grissett
DALTON, Ga. - Dianne Chaney Grissett of Riverdale, Ga., formerly of Dalton, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in a Decatur, Ga., hospital. She was 48.
She was the daughter of the late William Timothy and Sallie Mae Blackwell Chaney.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard Grissett, Stockbridge, Ga.; two daughters, Kisha Ray Livingston, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Juannee Miller, Dalton; four sisters, Renee' Bowie, Anna Blalock and Elfrida Banks, all of Dalton, and Juanita Wright, Atlanta; one brother, Michael Chaney, Dalton; and two grandchildren.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home with the Rev. R.E. Henley and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Hazel Lanier
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Hazel K. Lanier died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 90.
She was a member of East Armuchee Baptist Church, the widow of Clyde Lanier and the mother of the late Leo Lanier.
Survivors include four sons, J.C. Lanier, Chattanooga, and Jack, Cecil, and Gary Lanier, all of LaFayette; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at East Armuchee Baptist Church with the Rev. David Pruett and the Rev. Riley Bomar officiating.
Burial will be in Dunagan Cemetery.
The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by LaFayette Funeral Home.
Madelyn Lowry
SUMMERVILLE, Ga. - Madelyn P. Lowery died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999. She was 77.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at J.D. Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Bearden and the Rev. Paul Mason officiating.
Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Garden.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 3 p.m.
Melvin McSears
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Melvin 'Frank' McSears died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, in an area nursing home. He was 75.
He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, and a retired masonry contractor.
Survivors include his daughter, Covetta McSears, Cincinnati; one son, Corey McSears, LaFayette; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church in LaFayette, with the Rev. Donald White and other ministers officiating.
The body will be at Willis Funeral Home Sunday after noon and at the church one hour before the service on Monday.
Earl Owen
DALTON, Ga. - Earl P. Owen died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 77.
He was part owner of Owen & Parks Real Estate for 30 years and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Headrick Owen; two daughters, Elizabeth Neal, Chatsworth, Ga., and Connie Berry, Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 12:30 p.m. at Love Funeral Home with Dr. Billy T. Nimmons officiating.
Burial will be in Blackwood Springs cemetery in Gordon County.

James Prigmore
TRENTON, Ga. - James Anderson 'Jim' Prigmore died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at his home. He was 71.
He retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry after 32 years of service, after which time he became an inspector with Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute.
He attended First Baptist Church in Trenton and was a member of the VFW and the American Foundryman Society.
Survivors include his wife, Sara McGuire Prigmore; two daughters, Teresa Boody, Birmingham, and S. Kay Carpenter, Sevierville, Tenn.; one brother, Shelton Prigmore, Trussville, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral home with the Rev. Eddie Cantrell and Ellis Carpenter officiating.
Burial will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 6 p.m. and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

LaFAYETTE, Ga. - George A. Thomas died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 72.
He was the grandfather of the late Jeremy and Jess Shields.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Leming Thomas; two daughters, Phyllis Thomas, Chattanooga, and Vickie Shields, Knoxville; one son, George Steven Thomas, Chickamauga, Ga.; two sisters, Louise Denton, LaFayette, and Kathryn Thomas, Chattanooga; three brothers, John Thomas, LaFayette, Gene Thomas, Summerville and Carl Thomas, Bridge Port, R.I.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home with the Rev. J.R. Brown and the Rev. Clifton Black officiating.
Burial will be in Rock Spring Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
