CALHOUN, Ga. - Keith Allen Adkins, formerly of Dalton, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at his home.
He was 33.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Brenda Adkins.
Survivors include his wife, Claudene Adkins; a daughter, Montana Adkins, Dalton; a son, Keith Lee Adkins, Tunnel Hill; three sisters, Sara L. Sullivan, Crandall, Kelly Banks, Kentucky and Lora Sisson, Dalton; paternal grandmother, Ethel Baxter, Florida; and maternal grandmother, Maggie Metzler, Ohio.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Clayton Brown officiating.
Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jesse Bennett
CALHOUN, Ga. - Jesse Lamar Bennett died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at a local hospital.
He was 44.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Willis Funeral Home with Elder Emory Wright, the Rev. James Howell and other ministers officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mount Zion Church cemetery in the Curryville Community.
Ray Edwards
CHATSWORTH, Ga. - Ray O. Edwards died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at a local hospital.
He was 59.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Edwards and son, Mickie Ray Edwards.
Survivors include three sons, Tony Edwards, Tunnel Hill, Dennis Edwards, Calhoun, and David Edwards, Chatsworth; a daughter, Patty Dockery, Calhoun; his father, Anderson Edwards, Chatsworth; three sisters, Mildred Edwards, Pat Hayes and Katheryn Huggins, all of Chatsworth; a brother, DeWitt Edwards, Chatsworth; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. George Young officiating.
Burial will be in the Center Hill Cemetery.
The family was to receive friends today after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Ruth Flood
CHATSWORTH, Ga. - Ruth Evelyn Flood died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at a local hospital.
She was 66.
Services were today at 2 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating.
Burial was in West Hill cemetery in Dalton.
Robert Long
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Robert Long died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at his residence.
He was 72.
He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise DeLay Long, LaFayette; three daughters, Robbie Lapin and Shelia Spradling, both of Charleston, S.C., Brenda Payne, Pawleys Island, S.C.; one sister, Margaret Alexander, Chattanooga; one brother, J.C. Long, LaFayette; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Lanier Weaver and the Rev. Earl Gray officiating.
Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Estelle Turner
DALTON, Ga. - Estelle Turner died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1998, in an area hospital.
She was 95.
She was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church and the widow of Harvey C. Turner.
Survivors include a son, Lynn Turner, Harrison; daughter, Frances Gilliland, Hixson; sister, Mary Wiggins, Knoxville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. William Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
