DALTON, Ga. - Waymon Vineyard died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 73.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Vineyard; two sons, Robert and Gerald Vineyard, Chatsworth; one sister, Frances Bagley, Chatsworth; three stepdaughters, Peggy Hicks and Kim Franklin, both of Dalton, and Judy Bradshaw, North Carolina; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Vineyard and the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are by Peeples Funeral Home, Chatsworth.
Joseph Silva
CHATSWORTH, Ga. - Joseph "Joe' Silva died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 75.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche Silva; two sons, Raymond A. Silva, Canton, Texas, and Joe Silva, Dalton; one brother, Fred Silva, New Bedford, Mass.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Craig David officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home of Joe and Carolyn Silva, 1028 Laura Drive, Dalton, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Arrangements are by Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Dalton.
C.J. Pinson
DALTON, Ga. - C.J. Pinson died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 88.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Billy T. Nimmons officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by Love Funeral Home.
Pearl Planzer
TUNNEL HILL, Ga. - Pearl Smith Haygood Planzer died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999. She was 83.
She was widowed by both Charlie Haygood and Frank Planzer, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Johnson.
Survivors include two daughters, Lucy Peters, Tunnel Hill, and Lillian Underwood, Calhoun, Ga.; one son, Frank Planzer Jr., Dalton; one sister, Tennie Mae Morgan, Dalton; four brothers, James and Evoline Smith, Dalton, A.N. and Leonard Smith, Rocky Face; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at Love Funeral Home, Dalton.
Clara Patterson
DALTON, Ga. - Clara McFarland Patterson died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 81.
She was the widow of Fred J. Patterson.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Burman Cape and the Rev. Lamar Graham officiating.
Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today after 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Leonia Massingill
DALTON, Ga. - Leonia Massingill died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at her home. She was 75.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Goss officiating.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Betty Hasty
ROCKY FACE, Ga. - Betty Sue Putnam Hasty died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at her home. She was 65.
Survivors include one daughter, Wayne Eason, Dalton; two sons, David Hasty, Rocky Face, and Gary Hasty, Dallas, Texas; one brother, Lester Putnam, Cohutta, Ga.; and several grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dewey Boyd and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at Love Funeral Home.

George Burse
DALTON, Ga. - George Burse died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in a Dalton health care facility.
Arrangements will be announced by Willis Funeral Home in Dalton.
Daniel Collier
DALTON, Ga. - Daniel Fay Collier died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in an area health care facility.
He attended school in Spaulding County and earned a bachelor's degree from Southern School of Pharmacy in December 1943.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Dalton Chamber of Commerce and the VFW.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific. He earned an honorable discharge in 1946 as a pharmacist mate, 2nd Class.
He was formerly employed at Lyle Drug Co. and Griffin Drug Co. in Dalton and Chatsworth Drug. He purchased Stewart-Wade Drug Co. in 1949 and later built Dart Drug Co.
He was in the Dalton Lions Club and served as deputy district governor on the state level.
He helped start a glaucoma clinic and served as president of the Pharmaceutical Association 7th District. He was also on the state board of directors.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Lee Coffey Collier, and a brother, Dayton Collier, Griffin, Ga.
The funeral will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Turnell and the Rev. Coy Burnett officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
