CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. - Alfred L. Clark died Sunday, March 28, 1999. He was 84.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home in Chickamauga, with Burman Cape and Herb Conley officiating.
Burial will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Gardens.
Lottie Hayes
TRION, Ga. - Lottie Hayes died Monday, March 29, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 93.
She was a member of East Trion Church of God and the widow of James Elbert Hayes.
Survivors include one daughter, Beta Greenwood, Trion; four sons, James Hayes, Atlanta, Billy Hayes, Elijay, Ga., Dan Hayes, Knoxville, and Gerald Hayes, Teloga, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Ban Lumley officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to On Wings of Eagles, the Arthritis Foundation or a favorite charity.
Margie McCarty
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Margie Bryant McCarty died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at her home. She was 85.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McCarty, and a daughter, Opal McCarty.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn McCarty, LaFayette, and Virginia Folks, Kissimmee, Fla.; a son, James R. McCarty, Trion, Ga.; two sisters, Helen Strickland, Graysville, Tenn., and Katherine DeFore, Rocky Face, Ga.; brother, Virgil Bryant, Summerville, Ga.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles W. McElhaney officiating.
Burial will be in Coulter Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Doris McCurry
LOCUST GROVE, Ga. - Doris Sue McCurry died Sunday, March 28, 1999. She was 68.
She was a daughter of the late Icy Pittman and Gilbert L. McCurry Jr. and a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicky Sanford, Locust Grove; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 5 p.m. at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home with Dennis Brandon officiating.
Burial will be in Laynes Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 5 p.m. CST at the funeral home.
Bobby McNabb
CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. - Bobby Lee McNabb died Monday, March 29, 1999. He was 47.
He was a Baptist, a retired mail handler from the U.S. Postal Service, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the DAV and the Mail Handler's Union.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa M. McNabb; son, Dusty McNabb, Chattanooga; daughter, Ashley McNabb, Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Cassidy Gurdine, Chickamauga; his mother, Pauline McNabb, Ringgold; brother, Danny Ray McNabb, Atlanta; two sisters, Luann Prince, Ringgold, and Janice Kay Lay, Knoxville.
Services will be today at 11:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.
Polly Petty
McCAYSVILLE, Ga. - Polly Petty died Thursday, March 29, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 88.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of McCaysville, had worked for Rich's Department store and was the widow of Charlie L. Petty.
Survivors include her brother, M.S. Pless, Smyrna, Ga., and a sister, June Marchman, McCaysville.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Grover Jones and Dr. Phil Griffin officiating.
Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery.
Carol Sandlin
DALTON, Ga. - Carol Sandlin died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 61.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn Myers, Bradenton, Fla., and Trent Myers, Canton, Ga.; daughter, Shana Myers, Acworth, Ga.; mother, Jewel Smith, Mississippi; three sisters, Mary Toney and Dot Bowers, Mississippi, and Gerry Thompson, Texas; two brothers, Bill Speights, Dalton, and Thomas Speights, Mississippi; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Haney officiating.
Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Claudius Stalling
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Claudius Stalling died Saturday, March 27, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 61.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. W.P. Clark and pastor Rheubin Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery.

Bill Vaughn
CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. - William Elijah "Bill' Vaughn died Monday, March 29, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 77.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chickamauga area and a member of the Battlefield Church of God. He had retired from his position as senior filter operator from the Tennessee-American Water Co.
He was the widower of Mary Ann Hargraves Vaughn.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Poteet, Ooltewah, Tenn., and Karen Gibson, McDonough, Ga.; four sons, Eddy, Freddie and Darrell Vaughn, Chickamauga, and Gerald Vaughn, Rossville; a brother, Cecil Vaughn, Tiftonia; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Proctor and the Rev. Mike McRae officiating.
Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery.
