SUMMERVILLE, Ga. - Shirley A. Edgeworth died Thursday, March 11, 1999, in an Atlanta hospital. She was 42.
A native of Chattooga County, Ga., she was employed by the Summerville Wal-Mart.
Survivors include her parents, Kelly and Betty Edgeworth; one son, Joseph Edgeworth; and a brother, Johnny Edgeworth, all of Summerville.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at J.D. Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Edgeworth officiating.
Burial will be in Summerville Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jay Byrd
KENSINGTON, Ga. - Jay M. Byrd of McLemore Cove died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at his home. He was 88.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home in LaFayette, Ga., with the Rev. M.D. Durrance officiating.
Burial will be at Old Antioch Cemetery.
Charlie Bowling
RINGGOLD, Ga. - Charlie B. Bowling died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at his home. He was 76.
Mr. Bowling was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Ringgold and had retired from Holsum Bakery in Chattanooga after 30 years.
He was the father of the late Charles D. and Rodney D. Bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Charlie Mae Bowling; one son, Richard Darrell Bowling, Ringgold; one daughter, Robin Janell Fritz, Ringgold; one brother, Earl Bowling, Graysville, Ga.; and three sisters, Betty Bowers, Ooltewah, Lula Mae Hefren, Hixson, and Bertice Lovelace, Rossville.
Services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Wallis-Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Henson officiating.
Burial will be in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Bonnie Burgess
DALTON, Ga. - Bonnie Viola Burgess died Thursday, March 12, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 82.
She was the widow of Elton William Burgess.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald and Jerry Burgess; one daughter, Mary Nell Smith, all of Dalton; two sisters, Lucille Martin, Dalton, and Belle Kendrick, Cisco, Ga.; one brother, A.J. Callahan, Chatsworth, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Cochran officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
James Smithey
DAWNVILLE, Ga. - James Winfred Smithey died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at his home. He was 82.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Martin Smithey.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Hardaker and Alice Jordan, Dalton, and Anne Mitchell, Big Piney, Wy.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. William Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Center Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Edna Sprayberry
TRION, Ga. - Edna E. Sprayberry died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 91.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and was the widow of Homer Chandos Sprayberry.
Survivors include one son, Benny Sprayberry, Trion; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at J.D. HIll Funeral Home with minister Hugh Glaze officiating.
Burial will be today at 10 a.m. in Hall Cemetery.
Arrangements are by J.D. Hill Funeral Home.
Ruby Stanley
DALTON, Ga. - Ruby Lee Stanley died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at her home. She was 82.
She was a member of Ball Creek Baptist Church in Talking Rock, Ga., and the widow of Norman Stanley.
Survivors include one son, Herman Stanley, Dalton; one daughter, Betty S. Pippin, Dalton; one brother, Ed Langley, Chatsworth, Ga.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Ball Creek Baptist Church in Talking Rock, with the Rev. Lloyd Patterson and the Rev. Clarence Stanley officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Burial will be in Cross Roads cemetery in Gilmer County, Ga.

DALTON, Ga. - Rose Zell Quarles died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 80.
She was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Silas Quarles; two daughters, Yvonne Elrod, Calhoun, and Cheryl Watson, Dalton; two sons, Rex and Christopher Quarles, Dalton; two sisters, Ruby West, Fort Oglethorpe, and Frances Hawkins, Calhoun; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Harmony Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Parrish and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
