Deanna Moser Rosenberg
Deanna Rosenberg, age 66, of McDonough, Georgia died June 5, 2006. Mrs. Rosenberg was born
April 10, 1940 in Marion County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Pauline Marie Galloway and Ralph Lamar Moser. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She enjoyed art and golf. She was a graduate of University of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Summer H. Rosenberg in 1993; and a brother, David Alan Moser in 1982.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dara Rosenberg Evans and Jonathan of South Jordan, Utah; sister, Dawn Moser of McDonough; special friend, Mary Snodgrass of McDonough.
Services were held June 8 at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park, with Dara Rosenberg Evans officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Horace J. Moseley
Horace J. Moseley, age 77, of Stockbridge, Georgia died June 9, 2006.
Mr. Moseley is survived by his wife, Carolyn White; sisters, Carolyn White of Stockbridge, Dorothy Pilgrim of Covington, Margaret Bowen of Stockbridge; brother, Henry Moseley of Stockbridge; and sister-in-law, Joyce Moseley.
Services were held June 12 at Ward’s Fairview Chapel, with Reverend Carlton Swicegood officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Horis A. Ward Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Tommie Drew Davidson
Tommie Drew "Mr. D" Davidson, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia died June 9, 2006. Mr. Davidson was born
January 23, 1914 in Danville, the son of the late Annie Dora Lee and Jethro Oscar Davidson. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed his family. He worked as a bookkeeper most of his working career. He owned and operated M Kutz Manufacturing Company and worked for Bennett Motor Express. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he served as past deacon and past church treasurer. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Gate City Lodge. He was an avid bird hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chrystene Bender Davidson in 1986; and several siblings.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Leonard Nunn of McDonough; granddaughters, Leisa Hunt Wooten and husband Vince of Locust Grove, Laura Hunt Woodie and husband Chad of Locust Grove; great-grandchildren, Destin Wingo, Katelyn Wingo, Madison Woodie and Kerrigan Woodie, all of Locust Grove; stepgrandchildren, Max and Sam Wooten of Locust Grove; sister, Reaunette Smith of LaFayette; and several close nieces and nephews.
Services were held June 11 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Murrell officiating. Interment Haisten/ Eastlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ruby Jo Carruth
Ruby Jo Carruth of Locust Grove, Georgia died June 10, 2006. Mrs. Carruth was born
in Lyerly, Alabama, the daughter of Gordon Dowdy and Clara Johnson Dowdy and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Griffin. She was active in politics and served on the Henry County Board of Elections at the time of her death.
She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Harvey R. Carruth; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth "BJ" and John Mathis of Hampton; son and daughter-in-law, William and Christine Taylor of McDonough; son, John Taylor of Macon; sisters, Bernice Copeland, Jane Cook, Jean Browning, Jackie McWhorter, Frances Massey, Patsy Glass; brothers, Gordon Dowdy, John Dowdy; grandchildren, Johnny, Sarah and Rachel Mathis, Billy Taylor, Shane Taylor; great-granddaughter, Lila Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held June 14 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Conort officiating. Interment Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Thomas L. Sanders
Thomas L. Sanders, age 72, of McDonough, Georgia died June 10, 2006. Mr. Sanders was born
in Bessemer, Alabma, the son of the late Cooper and Mary Sanders. He enjoyed camping and taking trips to the mountains. He was a member of Strong Tower Church where he was a previous member of the church choir. Family was the most important part of his life. He loved family gatherings and always took many photos. He was a Captain at the Clayton County Sheriff's Department, working there for over 20 years. He also worked part time at Clayton County Court House as a bailiff and security officer. He was preceded in death by a son, Sean Sanders, a twin to Kelly; and sister, Milo Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Patton Sanders of McDonough, daughters, Kim Brantley, and Kathy Scurrys, both of Ft. Myers, Florida, Joy Madriz of Hollywood, Florida; sons, Kelly Sanders of Scottsdale, Arizona, Steve Wynn of McDonough; and nine grandchildren.
Services were held June 14 in the chapel of Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Pastor Dan Atkinson officiating. Entombment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Henry Jackson Batchelder, Jr.
Henry Jackson Batchhelder, Jr. age 81, of McDonough, Georgia died June 11, 2006. Mr. Batchelder was born
November 8, 1924 in Medford, Massachu-setts, the son of the late Gertrude Lamprey and Henry Jackson Batchelder, Sr. He served his country in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He retired from Delta Airlines with 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Batchelder and a brother, Morris Batchelder.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Beverly Batchelder of McDonough; children, Robert and Jill Batchelder of Acworth, Susan and Kenneth Reach of Conyers, Cheryl and Dave Darnell of McDonough; sister-in-law, Nancy Batchelder of McDonough; 11 grandchildren, niece and nephews.
Services were held June 14 at Sherwood Memorial Park, with Rev. Mike Mayfield officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Betty Josie Moon Morris
Betty Josie Moon Morris, age 79, of McDonough, Georgia died May 23, 2006. Mrs. Morris was born
October 19, 1926 in Greene County, the daughter of the late Julia Cornelia Cook and Guy Alexander Moon. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening with flowers and taking care of other people. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Willis Morris in 1999; and a brother, Hillman Eugene Moon in 2001.
She is survived by her children, John Edward Morris, Joan and Larry Wrye of McDonough; grandchildren, Shannon Wrye and wife Cassie of Jackson, Casey Wrye and wife Kristi of McDonough; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Landen Wrye; sister, Chris Rosendahl of LaGrange; brother, D.T. Moon of Barnesville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 26 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Reynolds officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Calvin E. Durham
Calvin E. Durham, age 84, of Stockbridge, Georgia died May 24, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Durham; children, Ramona George of McDonough, Patricia Bradley of Maryville, Tennessee, Charlotte Gasper of Front Royal, Virginia, Mark Sanford of Stock-bridge, and Ginney Butcher of Covington; sisters, Alice Riggins of Forest Park, Irene Jenkins of Lawrenceville; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 27 at Jonesboro Baptist Tabernacle, with Dr. Joe Arthur and Rev. Larry Bradley officiating. Interment Peachtree Memorial Park. Ford-Stewart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
James Louis Parrott
James Louis Parrott, age 79, of McDonough, Georgia died May 24, 2006. Mr. Parrott was born
July 12, 1926 in Fayette County, the son of the late Clara Eugene Landrum and Addison Truss Parrott. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Second Class from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and served actively until his accident. He was a member of Hapeville Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed working outside in his garden and with the horses and other animals. He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Dean Parrott in 1966 and Sara Higgins Parrott in 1993; and a son, Van Dean in 1992.
He is survived by his children, Lynda Dean of Atlanta, Mickey Parrott of North Georgia, John (Chris) Parrott and wife Tamara of McDonough; grandchild, Andrea Dean (Angela) of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 27 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Dean McKay officiating. Interment Forest Hills. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
