DALTON - John Norris of Chattanooga, formerly of Dalton, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at his home. He was 98.

Jewell Plunkett
LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN - Jewell M. Plunkett died Tuesday, April 6, 1999. She was 85.
She was a member of Griffin Holliness Church and the widow of J.T. Plunkett.
Survivors include a son, Vondell Plunkett, Lookout Mountain; sister, Burma Clark, Lookout Mountain; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. EST at Griffin Holiness Church with the Rev. James McLain and the Rev. Shirley Byrum officiating.
Burial will be in Griffin Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church.
William Stevenson
ROCKY FACE - William Chris Stevenson died Monday, April 5, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 47.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Sue Stevenson White, Rocky Face, and two daughters, Lillie Stevenson and Rose Stevenson, Memphis.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Manuel Watson
CALHOUN - Manuel Watson died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at his home. He was 71.
Mr. Watson was retired from Lockheed-Georgia Aircraft of Marietta, Ga., and later became associated with Spring Industries as a security guard.
He attended the Church of God and was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Watson; two sons, Danny and David Watson, all of Calhoun, Ga.; three sisters, Clara Young and Evelyn Chastain, both of Calhoun, and Ann Hood, Marietta; and a grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating.
Burial will be in Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

LAFAYETTE - Addie H. Westbrook died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at her home. She was 97.

ROCKY FACE - Willie Bell Babb died Monday, April 5, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 79.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olan C. Babb, and a son, Gary Wayne Babb.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Ann McArthur, Rocky Face, and Virginia Katherine Lee, Rossville; two sons, Donald Olan Babb, Dalton, and Needham Harold Babb, Rocky Face; four sisters, Montyne Hall, Vivian Newton, and Betty Greeson, Rocky Face, and Faye Hall of Dalton; one brother, John Haney Kenemer, Cohutta; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home with Keith Kenemer officiating.
Burial will be in Dunagan Cemetery.

ROSSVILLE - Mary Magdaline "Mag' Little Farless died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 64.
A lifelong resident of the north Georgia area, she was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church in Ringgold.
Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia D. Brown, Carrollton, Ga., Tammy G. Farless, Jacksonville, Fla., and Angela Darlene Farless, Fort Pierce, Fla.; three sons, Monty A. Brown, Douglas, Ga., Steve Farless, Fort Rena, Fla., and Gary Shane Farless, Vero Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Bertha Casey, Albany, Ga., Hessie Pirtle, Ashburn, Ga., Louise Chandler, Stone Mountain, Ga., and Laura Hudson, Rossville, Ga.; one brother, Cecil Little, Fort Oglethorpe; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home with Bobby Ledford and Gene Hudson officiating.
Burial will be in New Friendship cemetery in Ringgold.

RINGGOLD - Aaron "Cecil' Helmes died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at his home. He was 61.
Mr. Helmes was a native of Alabama, lived most of his life in the North Georgia area, and worked for Collins and Aikman in Dalton for 21 years. He was a member of Shields Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Helmes; two sons, Donald Aaron Helmes, Cohutta, and Steven Lee Helmes, Villanow; mother, Mary Helmes; two sisters, Evelyn Snyder, Ringgold, and Jessie Mae Covin, Gadsden, Ala.; three stepsons, Gary Richard Holcomb Jr., Jeffery Allen Holcomb, and Samuel Todd Holcomb, all of Ringgold; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Shields Baptist Church in Chickamauga with the Rev. Bill Proctor and the Rev. Jimmy Langston officiating.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Gardens in Ringgold.
The family will be receive friends all day today at Wallis-Stewart Funeral Home in Ringgold.
