CALHOUN - Bessie Kilgore died Thursday, May 13, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 83.
Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Clayton Brown officiating.
Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
Robert Rice
ROSSVILLE - Robert Ellsworth Rice died Friday, May 14, 1999, at his home. He was 87.
Arrangements will be announced by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Helen Richardson
DALTON - Helen Bennett Richardson died Thursday, May 13, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 68.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mary Bennett, and a brother, James Bennett.
Survivors include her husband, Lafayette Richardson; two daughters, Donna Richardson, Lawrenceville, Tenn., and Betty Jo Breeden, Eton, Ga.; son, Stanley Richardson, Dalton; three grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Walker and the Rev. Allen McClellan officiating.
Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

FORT OGLETHORPE - Jennie Ruth O'Neal Tarvin died Friday, May 14, 1999, in a local hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and attended Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Tarvin; brother, William H. Purcell, LaFayette; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Allen Goolsby officiating.
Burial will be in LaFayette Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

TRION - Hubert Dorsey Williams died Thursday, May 13, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 82.
He was a member and steward at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Williams; three daughters, Elsie Hall, Menlo, Ga., Carolyn Floyd, Vero Beach, Fla., and Denise Rowlette, LaFayette, Ga.; a son, Raybon Williams, LaFayette; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Lowery, the Rev. Bud Davis and the Rev. Johnny Helms officiating.
Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

KENSINGTON - Iris Swanson Andrews, who was active in many organizations that support Georgia agriculture, died Monday, April 26, 1999, in Fort Oglethorpe. She was 69.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home in Chickamauga, Ga., with the Rev. Richard "Dick' Clark officiating.
Burial will be in Chickamauga Cemetery.
Gertrude Barnette
CALHOUN - Gertrude P. Barnette died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in an area hospital. She was 78.
She was a lifelong resident of Gordon County, where she was employed in the textile industry. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Calhoun.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Barnette, and a son, Leslie Barnette.
Survivors include four sisters, Katie Kirby, Fannie Payne, Ruth Payne and Gladys Saunders, all of Calhoun; and one grandchild.
Services will be today at 3 p.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with elder Jack Mishler officiating.
Burial will be in Gordon Memorial Gardens.
Roy Bird
ROCK SPRING - Roy L. Bird died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 90.
Mr. Bird was a member of Rock Spring United Methodist Church and was the owner of Rock Spring Cemetery. He was a member of Crawfish Springs Masonic Lodge 300 F&AM; and the Alhambra Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kittie Bird.
Survivors include several cousins.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with the Rev. Terry Fleming officiating.
Burial will be in Rock Spring Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Spring United Methodist Church cemetery Fund.

COHUTTA - Glenn "Mantilu' Cooper died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, in Dalton, Ga. She was 98.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Cooper, and a grandson, Thomas l. Cooper.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn Cooper; a grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Cohutta First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
