Mrs. Brenda Martin
TRION, Ga. - Mrs. Brenda Ann Martin of Trion died Friday, May 3, 1996, in an area hospital. She was 43.
Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 14, 1952, in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of the late John L. Wilson.
She was employed with the Walker County Board of Education, having begun work as a paraprofessional at Naomi Elementary School in 1979.
She moved to LaFayette Middle School as secretary, then served at Fortune Elementary as secretary until the consolidation with Center Post School to form Gilbert Elemementary. She served as secretary at Gilbert until her death.
Survivors include her husband, Derry Martin; son, Brent Martin, Trion, Ga.; mother, Catherine Sodebee Wilson, Douglasville, Ga.; two sisters, Sandy Payton, Douglasville, Ga., Linda Mitchell, Rome, Ga.; and two brothers, Jim Wilson, Gainesville, Ga., and John Wilson, LaFayette, Ga.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at LaFayette Memory Gardens.
Burial will be in LaFayette Memory Gardens.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Arrangements are by LaFayette Funeral Home.

ROCKY FACE, Ga. - Services for James F. "Jim' Kincaid will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Love Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dewey Boyd officiating.
Burial will follow in Dawn Rest Cemetery.
Laura Rollings
TRENTON, Ga. - Laura Sue Armstrong Rollings, a kindergarten teacher in the Dade County School System, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at her home. She was 58.
Mrs. Rollings was a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a degree in education. She was a member of the Dade County Education Association and the Trenton United Methodist Church.
She started her teaching career in 1962 at Rising Fawn Elementary School. She also taught in Jackson County, Ala., and Marion County, Tenn.
She was a member of the Alpha Beta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society.
She was the mother of the late Michael Rollings.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Rollings; two daughters, Paula Rollings, Trenton, Ga., and Donna Pugliese, Chattanooga; two sons, Terry Rollings, Whitwell, Tenn., and David Rollings, Trenton; three sisters, Audry Shadows, Chattanooga, Edwina Davis, Rainsville, Ala., and Betty Jo McLeigh, Branson, Mo.; two brothers, Melvin Armstrong, Grove Oak, Ala., and Hobson Armstrong, Albertville, Ala.; and several grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Wiekel officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

Robert Peters
Former Georgia state Rep. Robert Glenn Peters died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at his home in Ringgold.
Mr. Peters served as a representative for Catoosa County for 20 years. He had been chairman of the Game and Fish Committee, the Reapportionment Committee and the Bank and Insurance Committee.
was founder of Broadway Glass Co. and owner and operator of Peters' Farms. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and an active director of Northwest Georgia Bank.
He was a lifelong resident of Catoosa County and a deacon at Friendship Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Ruth McBride Peters; a son, R. Wayne Peters, Ringgold; two daughters, Dianne P. Dycus and Angela P. Hagler, both of Ringgold; a brother, Tuck Peters, Ringgold; three sisters, Inez O'Rear, Chattanooga, Louise Jones and Lena Mae Howell, both of Ringgold; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with elder R. Wayne Peters and elder Joe F. Hildreth officiating.
Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery.

Robert Dee Cowley, 71
RINGGOLD, Ga. - Robert Dee Cowley, retired from U.S. Pipe after 42 years as a pattern maker, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at his home. He was 71.
Mr. Cowley was a native of McCalla, Ala., and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member and deacon of Burning Bush Baptist Church and also the Young at Heart.
Survivors include his wife, Virgia F. Cowley; a daughter, Gail Collison, McCalla; two sons, Eddy Cowley, Marietta, Ga., and John Cowley, Dallas, Ga.; his mother, Fannie Cowley, Bessemer, Ala.; his twin sister, Roberta Cowley, Bessemer; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway. The body will be taken to Brown Service Funeral Home in Bessemer, where the family will receive friends Friday from 3 to 9 p.m.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer, with the Rev. Dan Bailey and the Rev. Pat Davis officiating.

Oliver Guest
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Oliver O'Connell Guest, owner and operator of Guest Trim Shop in Rossville for more than 45 years, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 72.
Mr. Guest was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Center Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Guest; daughter, Sharon Hawkins, LaFayette; a son, Ricky Guest, Flintstone, Ga.; three brothers, Johnny Guest, Rossville, Ray Guest, Ringgold, Ga., and Billy Guest, Rock Spring, Ga.; two sisters, Lochie Bea East, Chattanooga, and Ophelia McBride, Rock Spring; three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Gaddis officiating.
Burial will be in LaFayette Memory Gardens.

Mildred McNew, 80
RINGGOLD, Ga. - Mildred M. McNew, a retired teacher and co-owner of McNew Pharmacy in Ringgold, died Monday, April 26, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 80.
She was a native of Glasgow, Ky., and had lived in Ringgold since 1950.
Mrs. McNew, who taught business education, was retired after 13 years from the Catoosa County School System. She had taught for five years before that in the Walker County School System.
She and her husband were co-owners of McNew Pharmacy.
She was a member of the Ringgold Church of Christ, the Retired Teachers Association and the Eagle Forum. She also was a former member of the Ringgold Civinette Club.
Survivors include her husband, E.L. "Doc' McNew; two daughters, Sharon Gregory, Birmingham, Ala., and Pamela Hayes, Dalton, Ga.; a son, Bert McNew, Ringgold; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, with minister Mike Gurganus officiating.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
