Charles Byrd
Funeral services for Charles H. Byrd will be Tuesday at noon at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Seay and the Rev. Mark Womack officiating.
Mr. Byrd died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998. He was 68.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral HOme.
Memorial contributions may be made to the music department at the Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
Frank Byrd
Frank E. Byrd died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in a local nursing home. He was 73.
The Spring City, Tenn., native was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. He was a retired as an insurance agent with Liberty National Life Insurance after 25 years, and was formerly employed with Grant-Patten Milk Company.
He was Baptist and was preceded in death by one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Laura A. Byrd; mother, Maydelle Byrd, Chattanooga; five sons, Frankie Lee Byrd, Rossville, Ga., Sammy Byrd, Atlanta, John Miljanich, Greenville, S.C., David Miljanich and Russell S. Byrd, both of Chattanooga; four daughters, Sherry L. Maddox and Tina Payne, both of Ooltewah, Billie Byrd Shook, Ringgold, Ga., and Michelle Miljanich, Atlanta; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, David B. Byrd, Boulder City, Nev.
The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott McCurdy and the Rev. Harold Nicholas officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Willard Cantrell
DALTON, Ga. - Willard Cantrell of Chatsworth, Ga., died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at a local hospital. He was 78.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Ponders Funeral Home with Randy Cantrell officiating.
Raymond Adams
LaFAYETTE, Ga. - Raymond J. Adams died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in his home. He was 76.
Born in Walker County, Ga., he was of the Baptist faith.
He was the father of the late Martha Jane; and the brother of the late, William Kimsey, Joseph Lawson, Dock Allen, Paul W., Millard (Tom), John Adams and Eunice Wright.
He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include two brothers, Nipp Adams, Trion, Ga., W.H. Adams, Hialeah, Fla.; one sister, Lois Sprayberry, Trion; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Erwin Petitt Funeral Home of Summerville, Ga.
Burial will follow in Ridgeway Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
Sarah Arthur
DALTON, Ga. - Mrs. Sarah Goan Arthur died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at a local hospital. She was 85.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Turnell and Lamar Grawley officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

M.D. Ashmore
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - M.D. "Doc' Ashmore died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at his home. He was 85.
Survivors include his wife, Madge Ashmore; a son, David Ashmore of Lilura, Ga.; a sister, Sena Phillips of Section, Ala.; a brother, Robert Ashmore of Scottsboro, Ala.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. (CST) at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Mardis and the Rev. Billy Kitchens officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Annie Avery
TRENTON, Ga. - Annie Prince Avery died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at a local hospital. She was 94.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Shanty Town cemetery on Sand Mountain.
The family will receive friends today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Clyde Bailey
SUMMERVILLE, Ga. - Clyde T. Bailey of LaFayette died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at a local hospital. He was 90.
A native of Chattooga County, Ga., he was the son of the late Luther and Vada Bailey. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Trion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Bailey; two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include a sister, Louise Junkins, Summerville; and a brother, Hoyt Bailey, Ringgold.
Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Moonhead officiating.
Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sarah Bailey
Sarah Lucille Carver Bailey of Rossville, Ga., died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at the residence. She was 71.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, with the Rev. Jim Hartley officiating.
Burial will follow in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.
Tami Bartley
CHATSWORTH, Ga. - Tami Jean Bartley died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at her home. She was 19.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Harold and Cindi Bartley; her mother, Donna Odom of Cape Giradeau, Mo.; three brothers, Dustin Bartley of Cape Giradeau, and Bronson and Harley Bartley, both of Eton, Ga.; and her grandparents, Harold and Betty Bartley of Chatsworth, Mr. and Mrs. John Lengyel of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Clarke of Leesburg, Fla.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Van Smith and the Rev. Nick Coker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Free Hope Cemetery.
