DALTON, Ga. - Smith C. Fowler of Chamblee, Ga., died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, in an Atlanta hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by the Willis Funeral Home in Dalton.
Linda Courville
ROCKY FACE, Ga. - Linda Sue Courville died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 36.
A native of Wayne County, Mich., she was a student at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla.
Survivors include her mother, Carolyn Courville, Rocky Face; father, Arthur Courville, Dalton; sister, Cynthia Jorgensen, Rocky Face; and brother, Richard Courville, Cohutta.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Hayes and the Rev. Randy Mayfield officiating.
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
James Covington
SUMMERVILLE, Ga. - James Covington died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, in an area nursing home.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II and retired from Coronet Carpets.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Covington; son, James Starr, Rome, Ga.; several grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Talmadge Clark and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be today at Willis Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
James Cox
RINGGOLD, Ga. - James "J.C.' Crawford Cox died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998, in a local hospital. He was 69.
Services will be Wednesday at noon in the W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
Visitation will be today at the funeral home.
Lossie Cronan
CALHOUN, Ga. - Lossie S. Cronan of the Ranger community died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 93.
Born in Lumpkin County, she was of the Church of God faith, the widow of Millard Cronan, and the mother of the late Raymond Cronan.
Survivors include six sons, Lloyd Cronan, Talking Rock, Ga.; Newman, Dennis, and Curtis Cronan, all of Ranger, Floyd Cronan, Oakman, Ga., and Roy Cronan, Rome, Ga.; one brother, Edward Howard, Commerce, Ga.; and 26 grandchildren.
Services will be today at 4 p.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Lamar Hand and the Rev. Wilburn Childers officiating.
Burial will be in Fain Cemetery.
Geneva Crump
CALHOUN, Ga. - Geneva Skyles Crump died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, in her home. She was 78.
She spent most of her life in Gordon County where she was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of John Crump; and the mother of the late Leroy Crump and Edward Crump.
Survivors include one son, Larry Crump, Calhoun; one sister, Beatrice Corbin, Calhoun; one brother, Jack Crump, Calhoun; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Farmville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Hayes officiating.
Burial will follow in Gaines Cemetery.
The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Arrangements are by Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
Henry Curtis
Henry Edward Curtis of Chickamauga, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, at his home. He was 58.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
Burial will be in Sequatchie Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tenn.
The family is receiving friends at the funeral home.
Winston Daniel
TRENTON, Ga. - Winston Franklin Daniel died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, in an area hospital. He was 54.
He was the owner of Winston's Service Center in Trenton, and was a member of the Dade County Lions Club. He also had previously served as police commissioner for the city of Trenton.
Survivors include his mother, Irene Daniel Hight of Trenton; a daughter, Cindy Daniel of Rossville, Ga.; a son, Troy Daniel of Trenton; two sisters, Imogene Natalizia of Providence, R.I., and Nancy Cannon of Trenton; three brothers, C.L. Daniel of Rossville, Billy Daniel of Trenton, and Jerry Daniel of Derby, Conn.; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, with the Rev. Eddie Cantrell officiating.
Burial will be in the Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today 12 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Clyde Deese
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Clyde Deese died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in an area hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Deese; two daughters, Carolyn Deese of Moorehead City, N.C., and Christine Braddy of Calhoun, Ga.; two sons, Clyde Deese Jr. of Baltimore, Md., and Henry Deese of Moorehead City, N.C.; three sisters, Emma Randall and Sadie Lewis, both of Salisbury, N.C., and Ola Caldwell of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Tom Deese of Salisbury, N.C.; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Cody officiating.
Burial followed in Twickenham Memorial Gardens in Huntsville, Ala.
Scottsboro Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Clara Dinsmore
CHATSWORTH, Ga. - Clara L. Dinsmore died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, in an area hospital. She was 78.
Survivors include her husband, Troy Dinsmore; two daughters, Louise Martin, Macon, Ga., and Glenda Smith, Tunnel Hill, Ga.; four sons, David and Charlie Babb, both of Columbus, Ga., Dwight Babb, Tucker, Ga., and Rodney Franks, Chatsworth; a sister, Emma Gallman, Tunnel Hill; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held today at 2 p.m. at Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth, with the Rev. Tony Southern officiating.
Burial was to follow in the Dunnegan cemetery in Whitfield County.
Tom Blake
TRENTON, Ga. - Tom Dal Blake of Sulphur Springs, Ala., died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, in a Birmingham, Ala., hospital. He was 68.
He was a member of the Church of Chrsit and was an artist.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Locklear, Birmingham, and Angela Steart, Concord, N.C.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, with the Rev. Jerry Jenkins officiating.
Burial will follow in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
