Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul AME Church in Hogansville with the Rev. Oscar Meredith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her sister, Gloria Wood at 312 Pine Street in Hogansville.

Roy Steve Blackwood
Roy Steve Blackwood, 59, of 3570 Dallas Mill Road in LaGrange died Monday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Blackwood, born Nov. 22, 1943, in Troup County, was the son of the late Roy and Jewell Humphrey Blackwood. He was a 1961 graduate of Troup High School, served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and retired from Kirby’s Body Shop.
Survivors include a sister and brother - in - law, Linda and James Bloodworth of LaGrange, a brother and sister - in - law, James and Sheila Blackwood of LaGrange three nieces, Amy Wingate, Heather and Scott Elliott, and Tabitha and Adam Faulkner; two nephews, Matthew and Alesia Blackwood and Joshua Blackwood; three great - nieces, Magnolia Faulkner, Adreiannah Wingate, Sierrah Wingate; and two great - nephews, Justin Elliott and Garrett Wingate.
Memorial services will be at 3 pm. Sunday at County Line Baptist Church in LaGrange with the Revs. Jerry Parkerson and Lamar Truitt officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mr. Blackwood.
Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton is in charge of LaGrange.

Ruby Johnson
Ruby Johnson, 74, of Snellville died Tuesday.
Mrs. Johnson, a native of Troup County, retired from the J.C. Penney Company and loved Braves baseball.
Survivors include three sons and daughters - in - law, Randy and Sarah Johnson of Snellville, Michael and Cheryl Johnson of Kingston, Tenn., Jamie and Toni Johnson of Newnan; a sister, Annette Foster of LaGrange; nine grandchildren, and two great - grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in Hillview East Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening at Tim Stewart Funeral Home at 2246 Wisteria Drive in Snellville from 6 until 9.

Esther Hendrix
Mrs. Bula Esther Hendrix, 91, of 72 South Whatley Road died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Hendrix, born June 1, 1912, in Carrollton, was the daughter of the late John Matthew and Ada Williams Pitts. She had lived here most of her life, retired from the Hillside Plant of Milliken and Company and was a member of Baptist Tabernacle where she was active in Sunday school.
Survivors include two daughters and sons - in - law, Mablene and Pat Starkey of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., and Audrey and Stephen Holloway of LaGrange; two sons and daughters - in - law, Wayne and Sharon Hendrix of Rincon and Jerry and Pat Hendrix of LaGrange; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Brenda and Howard Mance II, Kenneth Batts, Debbie and Caroll Baggs, Gary Starkey, Terri Starkey, Wayne Jr. and Tammy Hendrix, Michael and Tammy Hendrix, Theresa Morgan, Christopher Hendrix, James (Bubba) and Anna Odom, Renee and Michael Hinkle, Michelle and Rusty Dollar, Greg Holloway, 18 great - grandchildren, three great - great - grandchildren;a sister - in - law, Ethel Pitts; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Hendrix; a daughter and son - in - law, Bobbie Jean and Olin Batts; three sisters, Flonnie Bishop, Tommie Ellison, Inez Geurin; and a brother, Edgar Pitts.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Baptist Tabernacle with the Revs. Jimmie McMillian and Olin McClain officiating. Entombment will be in Shadowlawn Mausoleum.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. before the service.

Johnny L. Hall
Johnny L. Hall, 48, of Hogansville died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Hall, born June, 26, 1955, in Troup County, was the son of the late Lanier Blake and Virginia Hill Hall. Formerly of LaGrange, he had Lived in Hogansville for eight years where he owned and operated Hall’s Repair shop.
Survivors include a daughter and son - in - law, Tina and Benjamin Striblin of Lanett, Ala.; a son, Johnny Lanier Hall II of Valley, Ala.; two sisters, Betty Cardwell of LaGrange and Shirley Robinson of Hogansville; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11 Wednesday in Myrtle Hill cemetery with the Rev. Ken Overby officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 this evening at Claude A McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

Landis Nadine East
Mrs. Landis Nadine East, 77, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. East, born March 1, 1926, in LaFayette, Ala. was the daughter of the late John Will and Mary Davis Hall. She was a Jehovah’s Witness and retired from the Dunson Division of WestPoint Pepperell as a spinner.
Survivors include two daughters and a son - in - law, Mary Bourgeois of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Judy and Billy Mann of LaGrange; a son and daughter - in - law, Roger and Gina East of Hazelhurst; 11 adored grandchildren; and eight cherished great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Charlie East.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shadowlawn cemetery with Brother Steve Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road.

Leonard Robinson
Leonard (Doc) Robinson, 89, of Hogansville died Saturday at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Newnan.
Mr. Robinson, born February 28, 1914, in Carroll County, was the son of the late Henry and Beulah Roberts Robinson. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and lived in Hogansville most of his life. He retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 44 years of service and was a deacon at Highland Baptist Church. He was an accomplished musician and was a church musician for more than 55 years. survivors include his wife, Maecenies Phillips Robinson of Hogansville; a daughter and son - in - law, Lenore and Robert (Bobby) Hammett of Riverdale; a sister, Mary Robinson of Hogansville; two granddaughters, Holly and Greg Campbell of Jonesboro and Heather Hammett Polson of Riverdale; and three great - grandchildren, Sydney Polson, Katelyn Polson and Cole Campbell.
Funeral services will be at 4 today at Highland Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

Annie Sherrer
Mrs. Annie Garrett Sherrer, 94, of the Louise Community died Saturday at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital in Warm Springs.
Mrs. Sherrer, born Aug. 16, 1909, in Heard County, was the daughter of the late George and Cordelia Hester Garrett. She had lived in Troup County for 60 years, was a member of Louse Baptist Church and retired from the Kex Division of Callaway Mills Company.
Survivors include three daughters and sons - in - law, Mary Ann and Eddie Lee Hamlin of Chatsworth, Joyce and Robert Railey and Judith and Richard Railey, all of Woodbury; a son, Leolin Sherrer of LaGrange; 19 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren and great - great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Sherrer and two sons, Willie Lee Sherrer Jr. and James Millard Sherrer.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Carolyn Evans officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Christian McGuffin
Christian Leif McGuffin, 2 month old son of Jeff and Kim McGuffin of 55 Patillo Road, died Saturday at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
Master McGuffin was born August 23, 2003 in Atlanta.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Chloe Cosley of LaGrange; grandparents, Lamar and Kathy Cosley of LaGrange and Teresa and Richard Fuller and James and Frances McGuffin all of the Louise Community; great - grandparents, Thelma Mitchell of LaGrange and Styles and Sheila McGuffin of Hogansville; and aunts and uncles, Chris and Christie Turner, Misty and Mike King, and Shannon and Marsha Bagley, all of LaGrange and David and Mary Cosley of Luthersville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Louise Baptist Church with the Revs. Ormond Harcrowe and Sam Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road.

Cornell Emory
Mrs. Cornell Emory of 37 Bevis Road in Franklin died Friday at her home.
Mrs. Emory, a native of Heard County, was the daughter of the late Batto and Mattie Bell Dukes Daniel. She was a former employee at Heard High School and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she served on the usher board.
Survivors include four children, Sandra Tucker, Bobby Emory, Valanta and Alethea Emory, and Tony and Gennise Emory; a daughter - in - law, Linda Emory; three sisters, Eva Bell, Lillie and Sal Moreland, and Corine and Vance Thomaston, all of Franklin; two brothers, J.D. and Mary Daniel and Percy Daniel, all of Dayton, Ohio; six sisters - in - law; 18 grandchildren; 28 great - grandchildren; a special friend, Booker T. Brown; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Louis Emory; two sons, Terry Emory and Edward Emory, and son - in - law, Bobby Tucker; a sister, Addie Sweet and brothers, George Daniel and J.B. Daniel.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive Baptist Church on Salem Church Road in Franklin with the Rev. Grady Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in the Stateline Baptist Church cemetery in Glenn.
