John Henry Strickland
John Henry Strickland of Florence Hand Home died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Strickland, a native of Heard County, was the son of the late A.C. and Lilla Strickland. He was a construction worker and a member of Stateline Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Ollie Mae Strong of LaGrange and Carrie Hicks of Columbus; a brother and sister - in - law, Walter and Mary Que Strickland of Detroit, Mich.; a brother - in - law, B.G. Strickland of LaGrange; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home with the Rev. W.T. Edmondson officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his sister, Ollie Mae Strong at 150 Turner St., Apt, B214.

Dessie Anderson
Mrs. Dessie Parmer Anderson, 92, of Chattanooga, Tenn., formerly of LaGrange died Monday.
Mrs. Anderson, born March 3, 1911, in Wedowee, Ala., was the daughter of the late James Simon and Donia Overton Parmer. She retired from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell after 29 years of service. She was Methodist.
Survivors include a twin sister, Bessie Darden of LaGrange; a stepson and his wife, Truman and Janet Anderson of Hixson, Tenn.; three grandchildren and spouses, Heather and Bob Fuller of Knoxville, Tenn., Tyler Anderson of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Jennifer and Eddie Patton of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and two great - grandchildren, Anderson Fuller and Jake Fuller, both of Knoxville, Tenn.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hillview East cemetery with the Rev. Hansel Parmer officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary one hour prior to the service.

W.H. Hester
W.H. Hester, 85, of 2840 Hammett Road died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Hester was born July 24, 1917, in Randolph County, Ala. the son of the late William Vernon and Dink Annie Scott Hester. He was a retired master machinist for Lockheed of Marietta and DeZurik of LaGrange, a member of Elm City Lodge No. 544 Free and Accepted Masons and a member of Springhill Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.
Survivors include three daughters and a son - in - law, Betty Jean Hester, Irene Langley and Glenda and Sarge Dudley, all of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Pam Coleman of Eatonton, Kelly Jones, Valerie Hunt and Patrick Dudley, all of LaGrange; one sister, Lorell Hester of LaGrange; six great - grandchildren; one great - great - granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Chapel, with the Rev. Milton Whitlock officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at Mr. Hester’s home, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.

Billy Joe Cosley
Billy Joe Cosley, 69, of Hogansville died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Cosley, born Sept. 2, 1933, in Harris County, was the son of the late Will Cosley and Maudie Marzee Berry Pressley. Mr. Cosley was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Dixie Mill and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Stillwell of LaGrange, Deborah Cosley and Darlene Perkins, both of Hogansville; a son and daughter - in - law, Lamar and Kathy Cosley of LaGrange; two sisters, Eula Belle Pressley of LaGrange and Margaret Creed of Mountville; his stepmother, Lucille Cosley; a half - sister, Ellen Bright, both of the Odessadale Community, a half brother, Harold Pressley of California. Mr. Cosley was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Cosley, a sister, Betty Stitcher and a half brother, Wayne Cosley.
Funeral services will be at 4 pm. Tuesday at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Stitcher Family Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his son, Lamar Cosley, at 162 Wellington Drive and will receive friends this evening from 7 until 9 at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary.

Elma Louneal Gregg
Mrs. Elma Louneal Gregg, 79. of 788 Nelms Road, in Franklin, died Sunday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Gregg, born Aug. 2, 1923, in Wadley, Ala., was the daughter of the late Lewis and Alma Rice. She was a homemaker and had lived in the area since 1967. She was a member of Dunson Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, the Rev. C.W. Gregg of Franklin; two sons, DeVaughn Gregg and Billy Gregg, both of LaGrange; two daughters, and a son - in - law, Vera Sue and Harold Mulkey of LaGrange and Ruth Gregg of Franklin; four grandsons and a granddaughter - in - law, Shawn Gregg, Aaron Gregg, Justin Mulkey, and Wesley and Amanda Mulkey, all of LaGrange; three brothers and sisters - in - law, L.V. and Clara Rice of Wadley, Ala., Cordell and Avis Rice of Valley, Ala., and Warren and Jean Rice of Opelika, Ala.; two sisters and a brother - in - law, Carolyn Moody of Alexander City, Ala., and Kay and Bennie Rudd of Opelika, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Sid Shelnutt, Frank Sledge, Bill Bryant and Carlton Rivers officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.

Henry Weaver
Henry Weaver of 701 Daniel St., died Friday at Newnan Hospital in Newnan.
Mr. Weaver, a native of Harris County, was the son of the late Nora and Will Weaver. He retired as a custodian for Milliken and Company and was a member, deacon and usher at Arbor Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Jennief Weaver of Atlanta; a son and daughter - in - law, Robert and Marjorie Kennedy of Decatur; seven grandchildren, David and Cora Monroe of Winter Haven, Fla., Judy and Hollis Jackson, Albert and Juanita Parker, Octavia “Penny” Parker, all of LaGrange, Henry Lee Paker of Hiram, Willie Lee and Ursula Parker of Luthersville, Kathleen Whatley of Chattanooga, Ten; 11 great - grandchildren; 13 great - great grandchildren; and other relative and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Kate Weaver, nine brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Arbor Grove Baptist Church on Brown Street with the Rev. H.J. Long officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

Charlie W. Garrett
Charlie W. Garrett, 59, of LaGrange died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Garrett, born Oct. 5, 1943, in Troup County, was the son of the late William Olin and Claudie Wynn Garrett. He had lived in Troup County all his life and was a retired welder. He was Baptist.
Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Ford of LaGrange, Faye Rushton of Hogansville and Cathryn Busbee of Virginia Beach, Va.; three brothers, Robert Garrett of Hogansville, Coleman Garrett of Newman and William O. 'Pete' Garrett Jr. of LaGrange; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with the Rev. Hansel Parmer officiating.

Clyde Brown
Clyde Brown, 67, of 50 Morningside Drive died Thursday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Brown, born Dec. 29, 1935, in Troup County, was the son of the late Dois Lee and Letha Mae Dukes Brown. He had lived here all his life, was owner/operator of Brown's Upholstery and a member of Teaver Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Hodnett Brown; two sons and daughters - in - law, Danny and Malissa Brown and Scott and Kathy Brown, all of LaGrange; five grandchildren, Cortney and Ken Bartlett, J.J. Brown and his fiancee, Maggie Darden, Heather Brown, Brandy Brown, and Hunter Brown; a great - grandchild, Lydia Grace Bartlett, all of LaGrange; three brothers and sisters - in - law, Farris and Helen Brown of Newnan, Gene Brown and Teddy and Sue Brown all of LaGrange; two sisters and a brother - in - law, Margie Kirk of LaGrange and Juanita and L.C. Carpenter of Jacksonville, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
Cryptside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Shadowlawn Mausoleum with the Rev. Michael Reeves officiating.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evelyn 'Annie B.' Cameron, 59, of 129 North Street died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Cameron, born Sept. 26. 1943, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late William Fuller and Mary Frances Geter Lindsey. She was a very active member of St. John Holiness Church and retired as a cook from the Brian Center. Survivors include five daughters and three sons - in - law, Willie Mae and Anthony Walker of College Park; Connie and Andrew Douglas, Hartences and Dexter McFarland, Katina Cameron, and Natasha Cameron, all of LaGrange; three sisters, Linda Fuller of Atlanta, and Stephanie Lindsey and Bonita Lindsey, both of LaGrange; four brothers, Dennis Tucker, Renee Dowell, Anthony Lindsey and Bernard Lindsey, all of Lagrange; 16 grandchildren, nine Great - grandchildren; a special cousin, Patsy Thomas; a very close friend, Chuckie Seraw and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Lakes Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home with the Rev. J. R. Ware officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.

Wallace Howard
Wallace Howard, 79, of LaGrange died Thursday at the Brian Center.
Mr. Howard, born Jan. 14, 1924, in Troup County, was the son of the late Henry Augustus and Emma Sue Stanley Howard. He had lived here all his life, graduated from LaGrange High School, attended Auburn University and was veteran of World War II having served in the Navy for three years. He retired from the Dixie Division of West Point Pepperell and had worked at the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell. He was a member of Dunson United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of 52 years, Geraldine Harry Howard of LaGrange; two sons and daughters - in - law, Michael Lewis and Annette Howard of Birmingham, Ala., Jeffrey Wallace and Debbie Howard of LaGrange; a daughter and son - in - law, Sue Howard Turner and Winston Turner of LaGrange; seven grandchildren, Chris Howard, Anna Howard, Andrew Howard and Robbie Howard, all of Birmingham, Ala., and Joshua Howard, Hannah Howard, and Winston Turner Jr. of LaGrange; a sister - in - law, Mildred Howard of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews .
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with Dr. Dan Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Hillview East Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his son and daughter - in - law, Jeff and Debbie Howard at 211 North View Pointe Drive and will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Edgar J. Williams Jr.
Edgar John Williams Jr. 38, of Atlanta, formerly of LaGrange died Monday.
He was the son of Edgar John. Sr. and Betty Haralson Williams and was a 1981 graduate of Lakeshore High School.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Maeryia H. Williams; his children; his grandmother, Adel Ogletree; and other relative and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berean Bible Baptist Church at 3515 Butner Road SW in Atlanta.
