Hershel (Pete) O. Gay, 61, of 136 Pine Circle died Monday at his home.
Mr. Gay, born March 28, 1941, in Troup County, was the son of the late David Mose and Hattie Mae Freeman Gay. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Gay of LaGrange; four sons, Anthony Gay of LaGrange, Dewayne Gay of Pine Mountain Valley, Mike Gay of Unadilla and Jeff Gay of Pine Mountain; two daughters, Kim McGlamory and Tina Scott, both of Pine Mountain; 10 grandchildren; two brothers and a sister - in - law, Wayne and Brenda Gay of Greenville and Derl Gay of LaGrange; a sister and brother - in - law, Carolyn and Harold Railey of LaGrange; and three special sons - in - law, Cliff Norris, Larry Wayne Scott Jr. and Billy McGlamory, all of LaGrange He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Gay and Curtis Gay.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Pine Mountain cemetery with the Revs. Jesse Sims and Charles Chapman officiating.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends at the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home this evening from 6 until 9.

Ruby Nelle O’Neal
Mrs. Ruby Nelle O’Neal, 75, of 381 Fling Road died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. O’Neal, born Feb. 23, 1928, in Chambers County, was the daughter of the late Ira and Mattie Lou Barnes Golden. She retired from Air Cond of Atlanta where she worked as a dispatcher for several years. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Billy E. O’Neal of LaGrange; three sons and daughters - in - law, Thomas and Jeanette O’Neal of Riverdale, Danny and Debbie O'Neal of Hampton, and Ricky and Anita O'Neal of Newnan; seven grandchildren, six great - grandchildren; a sister, Florence Bennett of LaGrange; and two brothers, Ralph Golden and Billy Golden, both of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with the Revs. Greg Brown and Steve Vickery officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery in Forest Park.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.

Ruby White O’Neal
Mrs. Ruby White O’Neal, 76, of Hogansville died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs, O’Neal, born Jan. 12, 1927, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late Joe and Tiny Bales McClain. She retired from Smoker Craft and was a member of Midway United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons - in - law, Eva White and Mark Hawkins of LaGrange, Annell and Jim Martin of Hogansville; two sons and daughters - in - law, Ray Jr. and Susan White and the Rev. Olin and Brenda White, all of LaGrange. 13 grandchildren; 21 great - grandchildren; a brother and sister - in - law, the Rev. Olin and Reba McClain; two sisters, JoAnn Hamilton and Nell Dunlap, all of LaGrange; and numerous friends at Troup Trade Day Flea Market.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Midway United Methodist Church cemetery in the Liberty Hill Community with the Revs. Olin White and Olin McClain officiating.
The family will receive friends this evening at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road from 7 until 9.

Blake Edmondson
Morgan Blake Edmondson, 71, of Franklin, died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Edmondson, born Jan. 28, 1932, in Roanoke, Ala., was the son of the late Gus and Zona Bell Prescott Edmondson. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, retired from West Georgia RESA and worked for Edmondson TV and Radio for 20 years. He was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Edmondson of Franklin; two sons and daughters - in - law, David and Kathleen Edmondson of LaGrange and Tony and Sandy Edmondson of Franklin; a sister, Maybelle Massey of the Louise Community; a granddaughter, Brittany Edmondson; two step grandchildren, Daphne Holtzclaw and Clay Holtzclaw; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six brothers, O.C. Edmondson, Arthur Edmondson, Huey Edmondson, Charles Edmondson, Gaines Edmondson and Eugene Edmondson; and a sister, Macy Gleaton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Franklin Road Baptist Church with the Revs. Bob Burnett and Frank Sledge officiating. Burial will be in Meadoway Gardens.
The family will be at the home of his son and daughter - in - law, David and Kathleen Edmondson, at 128 Meadowland Trail and will receive friends at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home this evening from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the Franklin Road Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Edmondson.

Shelia Pate Luck
Shelia Pate Luck, 56, of Winston - Salem, N.C., died Sunday at her home.
Mrs. Luck, born Oct. 27, 1946, in LaGrange, was the daughter of Dorothy Powell of Chattanooga, Tenn., and the late Clarence F. Pate. She was the owner of a photo finishing business and a Baptist.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include five daughters and their spouses, Phoebe and David Shepherd of High Point, N.C., Misty and Anan Abour of Winston - Salem, N.C., Anne and D.W. McGee and Kentley and Daniell Lipps all of Thomasville, N.C.; two sons, Travis Luck of Winston - Salem, N.C. and Ernie and Myra Luck of High Point, N.C.; two brothers, Frank Pate and Lindy Pate, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Vanessa Harrison of Danbury, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great - grandchildren; a longtime friend and companion of 16 years, Richard Klass of Winston - Salem; and several other relatives and friends.
There will be a private family memorial service.
They will receive friends at her home Wednesday evening from 7 until 9.
It is their request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to them at 728 Lynnhaven Park Drive, Winston - Salem, N.C., 27107.
J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Winston - Salem, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Hester
Mrs. Thelma Hester, 83, of Hogansville, died Monday at Brian Center Nursing Care.
Mrs. Hester, born March 4, 1919, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of the late S.T. and Dusky Heard Philpot. She had lived in Hogansville since 1946, was a member of the Hogansville Church of God and retired from Uniroyal, Inc.
Survivors include a daughter, Dottie Stevens of Hogansville; her stepmother, Grace Philpot; a half sister, Joan Finley, both of Delavan, Wis.; three grandchildren, Kim and James Moon and Bruce and Tracie Stevens of LaGrange and Kerry and Mark Sinns of Hogansville; five great - grandchildren, James Moon, Jessica Moon and Caroline Stevens, all of LaGrange, and Nick Sinns and Meridith Sinns, both of Hogansville; and special cousins, Ed and Martha Griffin of Williamson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Philpot.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with the Revs. Lonnie Bennett and James Moon and Mr. Roy Wright officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memory Gardens in Rock Mills, Ala.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Lavonne Johnson
Lavonne Davidson Johnson, 44, of LaGrange died Wednesday at her home.
Mrs. Johnson was born July 21, 1958, in Troup County the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Davidson. She attended the West Point public school system and was a member of Lanett Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie C. Johnson of West Point; three daughters and sons - in - law, Stephanie and Chris Harrell, Shameka and Jerome Harris, and Tameka Davidson, all of LaGrange; three sons, Corey Davidson, Raymond Davidson and Lucas Davidson, all of LaGrange; one sister and brother - in - law, Theresa and Horace Gilliam of West Point; two stepsisters and their spouses, Carolyn and Vaughn Slater and Tara Davidson, all of LaGrange; one stepbrother, Larry West of LaGrange; a mother - in - law, Addie Mae Johnson of Opelika, Ala.; eight grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at Lanett Church of Christ with Brother Robert Patterson and Minister Larry West officiating. Burial will be in Marseilles cemetery in West Point.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 Monday night at M.W. Lee Mortuary in West Point. The body will be at the church Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Raye Hale Sherrer
Mrs. Raye Hale Sherrer, 68, of 444 Bartley Road died Saturday at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
Mrs. Sherrer, born Nov. 17. 1934, in Randolph County Ala., was the daughter of the late Steven and Minnie Huddleston Hale. She had lived here all of her life and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Leolin Sherrer; two daughters and a son - in - law, Janice Tarver and Suzy and David Noles; a brother, Alears Hale; a sister, Lorell Hale; four grandchildren two great - grandchildren; mother - in - law, Annie Sherrer, all of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Sherrer.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with the Rev. Stan Miller officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 until 9.

Thelma Harden White
Mrs. Thelma Harden White of LaGrange died Sunday at Florence Hand Home.
Mrs. White, born Oct. 15, 1912, in Hogansville, was the daughter of the late Hershel Virgil Sr. and Willie Lou Sims Harden. She had lived here most of her life and taught school for 30 years at Hill Street Junior High School and Westside Girls’ Junior High School. She was a former treasurer of Friends of LaGrange College Library and LaGrange Community East Neighborhood Association. She was a member of the LaGrange Women’s Club, Troup County Retired Teacher’s Association and First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir for over 60 years, United Methodist Women and the Mary Will Thompson Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a granddaughter and her husband, Leigh and Craig Newberry of LaGrange: two sisters, Irma Hampton of Decatur, and Helen Adams of Gadsden, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene White, a daughter, Lucia Thelma Griffin, a sister, Verna Reynolds and two brothers, James Harden and Virgil Harden.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Jolly officiating Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her granddaughter and her husband, Leigh and Craig Newberry, at 101 Brookstone Drive and will receive friends there Tuesday evening from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home or those desiring may contribute to the choir at First United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. White.

Robert B. Howell, 59, of Atlanta died Wednesday at Atlanta Medical Center.
Mr. Howell, born Aug. 13 1943, in LaGrange, was the son of the late Emanuel R. and Alice Howell. He attended Ethel W. Kight High School and was a member of Wehadkee Baptist Church. He was a welder.
Survivors include a sister, Jacqueline Douglas of Atlanta; a niece, Darryell Moss; devoted nephew, Nathaniel Moss; two brothers - in - law, Eddie L. Rouse, all of Atlanta and Lindsey Douglas Jr. of LaGrange; numerous great nieces and nephews, Takia (Tamequa) Walton, Nailah, Aija, Tion (Chiquida), Karega and Akilah; one great - great - niece and nephew, Michael and Morgan Walton of Atlanta; an uncle, Rev. Robert B. McPherson Sr. of Augusta; two great uncles, John W. and Laura Henderson of LaGrange and M.C. Henderson of Birmingham, Ala.; a great aunt, Laural L. Allen of LaGrange; god children, Doris Reeves, Larcena James, Sheila James - Shay, Paula James, Sharlyne James, Angela James, Dorethea Williams; three god nieces Corlis Shells, Shirley Dalton and Paulette Anderson, all of Atlanta; special cousins, William H. Dean and Bettye Patterson, both of LaGrange, William L. Atchinson, Minnie James of Atlanta; and a number of other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by a brother, Willie J. Howell and a sister, Thelma J.. Rouse.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wehadkee Baptist Church at 572 Old School Road with the Rev. Gary Fanning officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Bettye Patterson at 219 Grady St.
