Janice Ellis
Mrs. Janice Ellis, 66, of 221 East Render St., died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Ellis, born Aug. 10, 1936, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late William Odel and Sarah Beth Hooten Edge. She had lived here all her life and was a homemaker. She was formerly employed at Dixie Mill and was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Wylie Ellis Sr.; a daughter, Deborah LaDale Doss; a son, John Wylie Ellis Jr.; five grandchildren, Joseph Eugene Doss, Brandy DaLane Barber and John Wylie Ellis III, all of LaGrange and Kimberly M. Ellis of Newnan and Erica Michelle Ellis of Luthersville; two sisters, Nita Morris of Newnan and Quinn Edge of Monroe; and a brother Avery Edge of Social Circle. She was preceded in death by a son, John Rodney Ellis.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand chapel with Pastor Lane Farley officiating. Burial will be in Hillview East Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 until 9.

Jimmie Lee Tucker Sr.
Jimmie Lee Tucker Sr., 59, of 9 Timothy St., died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Tucker, born Oct. 21, 1943, in Troup County, was the son of the late Green Sr. and Ella B. Dowell Tucker. He was a concrete finisher.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Tucker of LaGrange; a son Jimmie L. Tucker Jr.; a stepdaughter, Theresa and James Bryant of Griffin; a stepson, Leonard Davis; four grandchildren, Deremy, Johnathon, Enrinique and James; nine sisters, Ella Pearl Boddie of LaGrange; Louise T. Hill, Joyce and Michael Fears, Edna and Herman Snellings and Evelyn D. and Curly Bryant, all of Atlanta, Emma J. and Donald Tucker of LaGrange, Shirley L. Tucker of LaGrange, Burnetta and Calvin Jones and Betty and Robin Brown, all of LaGrange; seven brothers, Green Tucker Jr., Charlie Henry Tucker, Harold and Dana Tucker, and Thomas Tucker, all of Atlanta, Rickey Sr., and Debra Tucker, Jeffrey W. and Daphene Tucker, and Myron and Wendy Tucker, all of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Grove Baptist Church at 126 Grady St., with the Rev. C.W. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at his home.

Ricky East
Ricky East, 49, of 727 Leonard Road, died Monday at his home.
Mr. East, born Dec. 24, 1953, in Troup County, was the son of Jesse L. Sr. and Ruth East of LaGrange. He had lived here all his life and was a sergeant in the Senoia Police Department and was formerly employed with the Troup County Sheriff's Department.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include three sons and daughters - in - law, Sandy and Kristin East of Melbourne, Fla., Josh East of LaGrange, and Danny and Joy Williams of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Emory East, Avery East and Jensen East, all of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Jesse L. East Jr. of LaGrange; a niece and her husband, Jessica and Tristan Allen of LaGrange; a great - niece, Alyssa Allen of LaGrange; two special aunts, Mildred Hicks of LaGrange and Barbara Arrington of Standing Rock, Ala., and many special friends.
Memorial services will be in the Hunter - Allen Myhand Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Sonny Kent officiating.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Standing Rock Assembly of God in Standing Rock, Ala., in memory of Mr. East.

Edward E. Kirklin Sr.
Edward Eugene (Gene) Kirklin Sr., 67, of LaGrange died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Kirklin, born August 15, 1935, in Randolph County, Ala., was the son of Mandy Hester Kirklin and the late Johnny Eugene Kirklin. A self - employed roofer, he had lived here all his life and was an Army veteran. He was a former member of Union Road Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife of 18 years, Wanda A. Stenger; six daughters, Susan Vaughn of Douglasville, Sherrill Brown of Juliette, Sandy Adkins of Panama City Fla., Donna Taylor of LaGrange; Heather Kirklin of Madison and Lisa Wimberly of Dry Branch; three sons, Barry Kirklin, Lamar Kirklin and Gene Kirklin Jr., all of LaGrange; 25 grandchildren: and a sister, Frances Kirklin of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Pointer.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Rufus Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Don Ferrone
Dominick (Don) Ferrone, 56, of Pine Mountain died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Ferrone, born Dec. 2, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., was the son of Philip Ferrone of Pine Mountain and the late Louise Ferrone. He was the director of golf operations at Callaway Gardens and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Hamilton. He was the 42nd U.S. Golfer to be named a PGA Master Professional in the history of the PGA. He served on numerous boards and committees of the PGA and was a national spokesperson for Club Car, Inc.
Survivors, in addition to his father, include two sons, Daniel Ferrone of Jackson and Robert and Karen Ferrone of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a sister, Janice Cade of San Jose, Calif.; and a brother, Phil Ferrone of Huntersville, N.C.
A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Hamilton.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 at Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation in memory of Mr. Ferrone.

Mrs. Ruby Farrar
Mrs. Ruby Walker Farrar, 87, of LaGrange died Friday.
Mrs. Farrar. born October 5, 1915, in Chambers County, Ala., was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Rebecca Jacobs Newell. She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and was the former owner operator of Your Beauty Center.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Patsy Farrar of Marietta; two step grandchildren, Amy Lynn Farrar of Marietta and Brad Farrar of Atlanta; her caregiver niece and grand niece, Kathryn Rhodes and Nancy Pannell, both of Pine Mountain; and several other nieces, nephews, great - nieces and nephews and great - great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 9, at Rosemont Baptist Church with the Rev. Max McCord officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, 1010 Mooty Bridge Road this evening from 4 until 7

Aaron Thornton
Aaron Thornton, 59, of 323 Patterson Road in Franklin died Tuesday in Franklin.
Mr. Thornton, born August 14, 1943, in Heard County, was the son of the late Aaron Sr. and Lugennie Robinson Thornton. He was a retied concrete finisher.
Survivors include two sons, Dynea Martin of Alabama and Torrence Allen of Franklin; seven sisters, Charlie Mae Sims of LaGrange, Martha Lewis, Annie Ruth Wilkes, Artis and Larry Andrews and mary Thornton, all of Franklin, Bessie and Ivey Foster and and Ida and John Bohannon, all of Newnan; a special niece, Janet Roberts of f Franklin and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church on Highway 54 in Hogansville with the Rev. Clinton Melson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his sister, Charlie Mae Sims at 207 Payne St., and at the homes of his sisters in Franklin.

Ed Stitt
Lewis Edward Stitt, 63, of 290 Riviera Drive in Carrollton died Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Stitt, born May 12, 1939, in Troup County, was the son of the late Hoke Smith and Eunice Harris Stitt. His father worked at Hills and Dales and as a teenager, Mr. Stitt cowboyed Callaway Cattle. In 1955 his family moved to Cedartown where he attended high school and played football for Coach Doc Ayers. HE then moved to Atlanta and worked as a big rig truck driver for various trucking companies including Bowman, Rea, Bennett and CKS Trucking Companies from which he retired.
Survivors include five sons and daughters - in - law, Dean Stitt of Atlanta, Robin and Rodney Stitt of a Austell, Dale Stitt of Buchanan, Shane and Alicia Stitt of Carrollton and Shawn and Candace Reger of Newnan; a daughter and son - in - law, Dana and Chris Jameson of Cartersville; and a brother, Jack Stitt of Mableton.
Memorial service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home in Villa Rica with the Rev. Colin Deal officiating. Music will be by Kathy Roberts.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the service hour.
The family requests that flowers be completely omitted and those desiring may make contributions to Tanner Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1136, Carrollton Ga., 30117, or to the American Cancer Society. In accordance with his wishes, the body was cremated.

Barbara T. Thompson
Mrs. Barbara Tucker Thompson, 52, of 200 Addie St., died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Thompson, born July 22, 1950, in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late Henderson and Corine Tucker. She retired from the Unity Plant of Milliken & Company after 23 years of service.
Survivors include five children, Arneda Tucker, Adrian and Johnnie Sanders, Samantha Thompson, Emmanuel and Connie Thompson and Gisele Thompson, all of LaGrange; a brother, Anthony T Tucker; five sisters, Lorene Tucker, Teresa and Kerry Cofield, Angelia and Tom Flowers, Vanessa Tucker, all of LaGrange and Freda Moncrief of Cleveland, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Veronica and Ronnie Dunson and family and Miranda Dunson; 19 grandchildren, five great - grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Macedonia Baptist Church at 111 Johnson Street with Rev. Jerome Shipman officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Adrian Sanders, at 197 Edgewood Ave.

Bob J. Fuller
Bob J. Fuller, 63, of Jonesboro died on February 4, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Fuller; a son, Scott Wade Fuller of Atlanta, a daughter and son - in - law, Donna and Eric Smith of Acworth; his mother, Irene Fuller of LaGrange; a brother and sister - in - law, Richard and Teresa Fuller of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis W. Fuller.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February, February 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro Worship Center. Dr. Dean Haun, Rev. Deron Cobb and Rev. Ted Ramos will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. at the church.
