E.H. Baker Jr.
E.H. Baker Jr., 82, of 801 Old West Point Road died Saturday, February 15, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Baker, born Sept. 2, 1920, in Cleburne County, Ala., was the son of the late Enoch H. Sr. and Essie Estella Williamson Baker. In 1959 he founded Baker Battery Company where he worked until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Loyd Presbyterian Church where he was a former elder.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Winnie Parker Baker of LaGrange; two daughters and sons - in - law, Nancy and Hardy Dumas of Forsyth, Susan and Mike Elliott of Augusta, a son and daughter - in - law, Terry and Lynn Baker of LaGrange; 13 grandchildren, Shelley and Jeff Skinner, Kacey and Casey Cochran, Josh and Jessie Baker, Samuel and Mary Dumas, Nathan Dumas, Jesse Elliott, Eli Elliott, Rebekah Elliott and Ezra Elliott, six great - grandchildren, Canon Skinner, Mekayla Bates, McClain Skinner, Sidney Cochran, Lea Dumas and Baker Skinner; a sister and brother - in - law, Katie and Bob Rampy of Woodland Ala.; and a number of extended family member .
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Loyd Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tony Dean and the Rev. Bobbie Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Loyd Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at his home.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to Loyd Presbyterian Church Building Fund or Music Department in memory of Mr. Baker.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Edna Dobbs Brazeal
Edna E. Dobbs Brazeal, 87, of LaGrange died Saturday at Leisure Living Assisted Living.
Mrs. Brazeal, born July 20, 1915, in Haralson County, was the daughter of the late Joseph and Georgia Martha Ann Meeks Dobbs. She was a retired textile mill worker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Reba N. and Thomas Crowe, Racheal A. and James Irwin and Billie R. and Billie Brazeal, all of LaGrange, and Patsy A. and Charlie Pike of Franklin; 10 grandchildren, Michael Crowe of Grantville, Nichelle Crowe of Riverdale, Emory Crowe of the Louise Community, Vicky Irwin Shanky of Greenville, James Irwin Jr. of Corinth, Jackie Irwin Lynn, Connie Irwin, and Betty Irwin Wilkes, all of LaGrange, Sean Brazeal of West Point, and Sara Lynn Cohen of Chapel Hill N.C.; 17 great - grandchildren; six great - great - grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; three step great - grandchildren; and three step great - great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett (Bill) Brazeal, two brothers, Thomas Dobbs and Gordon Dobbs and a sister, Elaine Dobbs.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hunter Allen Myhand chapel with the Rev. Don Ellison officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Reba and Thomas Crowe at 32 Willis Drive and will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8.
Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to Antioch Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Brazeal.

Mrs. Palmer Jackson, 97, of the Odessadale Community died this morning at West Georgia Medical Center.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home.

Ora Butler Driver
Mrs. Ora Butler Driver, 86, of LaGrange, formerly of Hogansville, died Saturday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Driver, born, March 22, 1916, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of the late Enoch and Mae Annie Pearl Kittle Butler. She had lived in Troup County 40 years, having previously lived in Heard County. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Harlis Driver and Jimmy Driver, both of LaGrange, Billy Driver of Five Points, Ala., Larry dDriver of Mobile, Ala., and Roger Driver of Luthersville; three sisters, Ary Skinner of Franklin, Cassie Bowen of Graham, Ala., and Judy Smartt of Tucker; a brother Denson Butler of Franklin; 17 grandchildren, 31 great - grandchildren and 12 great - great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield Driver, and two sons, J. R. (Buck) Driver and Bobby Driver.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Peak officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home from 7 until 9.

Roger Scott Cross
Roger Scott Cross, 19, of LaGrange, died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Cross, born April 9, 1983, in Queens County, N. Y., He attended Troup County schools and was a participant in Special Olympics.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Cross of LaGrange; an aunt, Walda Cross of Key West, Fla., an uncle Lonnie Cross III of Key West, Fla., cousins, Kimberly Cross of LaGrange, Lonnie IV and Gwenn Cross of Savannah and Meredith Cross of Newnan; and a special friend, Sara Davis of LaGrange.
Graveside services will be today at 3 p.m. in Shadowlawn cemetery with the Rev. Scott Russell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Helen T. Hill
Helen Marie Thrash Hill of 118 North St., died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Hill, born in Troup County, was the daughter of the late Eldon and Rosie Calhoun Thrash and was a member of Ward's Chapel CME Church where she was in the missionary society and the senior choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Annie T. and John Lee Gordon of Atlanta and Cynthia and Joseph Harvey of Dunwoody; a brother, Johnny and Mary Thrash of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters - in - law, Lillian Hill and Janie Hill, both of LaGrange; seven grandchildren; 21 great - grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives; and two special friends, Lucy Rogers and Melissa Pittman,
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ward's Chapel CME Church on North Street with the Rev. William Spratling officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the home of Doris Heard at 409 Whitesville St.
West Georgia Mortuary is i charge of arrangements.

Lonnie Lee Hill Sr.
Lonnie Lee Hill Sr., 79, of 485 Hudson Road died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Lee, a native of Troup County, was the son of the late Bill Sr. and Hattie Hill. He was a decorated World War II veteran being the recipient of the Victory Medal, Eamet Service Medal and the American Theater Ribbon.
Survivors include his wife, Olga Hill; a son, Lonnie L. Hill Jr. of Southfield, Mich.; three daughters, Wilhemenia and Frank Brown of Garner N.C., Carolyn and Charlie Harrison of Ooltewah, Tenn., and Margaret and Melvin Dixon of College Park; three special daughters, Linda Sims, Gloria Hubbard and Ruth Williams, all of LaGrange; one aunt, Emma Kennedy of Detroit, Mich.; a devoted cousin, Lois Williams of LaGrange; ten grandchildren; eight great - grandchildren; a sister - in - law, Omega Hill of LaGrange; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Hill Jr., two sisters, Mattie Dallas and Fannie Cameron and a daughter - in - law, Evelyn Hill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Bartholomew Orr officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at his home.
A service by Mackey - Wilson - Jennings Funeral Home.

Michael W. Weeks
Michael Warren Weeks of LaGrange died in his sleep Monday, Feb. 10, 2003.
Mr. Weeks was born in LaGrange and attended Georgia Southwestern College and Troup Tech. He successfully completed the welding school at Ingles Shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss., and was employed by Gasaway Steel Erectors.
Survivors include two sons, Michael James Weeks and Leonard Ellis Weeks; and two brothers, Tom Weeks and Robert Weeks, all of LaGrange.
There will be no funeral service; but, the family will receive all of his friends for an ongoing celebration of his life at the home of Tom Weeks at 301 Boulevard.

Doris Nadean Barnes
Doris Nadean Barnes, 77, of LaGrange died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Barnes, born Jan. 2, 1926, in Meriwether County. was the daughter of the late Robert and Lena Bell Smoot. She had lived here all her life and retired in 1993 as dietitian from Hillcrest Elementary School and was an Avon saleslady for 37 years. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church.
Survivors include five children, Jerry and Nancy Barnes, Wayne Barnes and Angela Garrett, Melanie Duncan and Mike Goodman, Kathy Barnes and Steve Clark and Lisa Barnes, all of LaGrange; a much loved sister, Grace Estes; seven grandchildren, Rodney Barnes, Curt Barnes, Carla Pressley, Chuck Barnes, Amanda Burdette, Kristen Barnes, and Brittney Garrett; five great - grandchildren, Joy Butts, Tiffany Barnes, Trae Barnes, Harley Barnes, and Hannah Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Wade Barnes.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rebecca MacArthur officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at 131 Roy Stallings Road and will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 6 until 9.
Flowers will be accepted or those so desiring may contribute to Hillcrest United Methodist Women in memory of Mrs. Barnes.

Harvey Moore
Harvey (Buddy) Moore, 69, of Roanoke, Ala., died Monday at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Mr. Moore, born May 19, 1933, in Troup County, was the son of the late Harvey Leonard and Louise Page Moore. He retired from Moore Oxygen Supply in Carrollton, was formerly employed with the Georgia State Patrol and was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother and sister - in - law, Jim L. and Jewel Moore of LaGrange; two nephews, Keith Moore of LaGrange and Chad Moore of Bowdon; and a devoted stepmother, Juanita Crews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard C. Moore.
Cryptside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shadowlawn Mausoleum with the Rev. Frank Sledge officiating.
The family will receive friends at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home this evening from 6 until 8.

Inez Guy
Mrs. Inez Johnson Guy, 96, of Hogansville, died Monday at Florence Hand Home.
Mrs. Guy, born Jan. 15, 1907, in Hogansville, was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Nancy Cleaveland Johnson. She was lifelong resident of Hogansville, and was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She retired as an elementary school teacher from the Hogansville City School System and was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville where she was active in Presbyterian Women. She was a former member of the Afternoon Bridge Club in Hogansville.
Survivors include a sister, Becky Henderson of Fletcher, N.C.; a brother, Lamar Johnson of Decatur, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben B. Guy.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville with the Rev. Marion Shivers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 Wednesday morning at Claude A. McKibben Funeral Home in Hogansville.
