Robert Laye
Robert (Buddy) Laye 46, died Saturday at Atlanta Medical Center.
Mr. Laye, born September 28, 1954, in Heard County, was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Jessie Lee Cameron Laye. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Anthony Delaney; two grandsons, Quintavious and Juandarius Delaney; four brothers, Russell Jerome Laye, Ralph Edward Laye, Jessie James Laye, and Frankie Laye, all of LaGrange; five sisters, Nora Sandra Tate of Washington, D.C., Gloria Laye Bradshaw and Timothy Brown, Jearlean Laye Jennings, Beverly Kennedy and Matilda Terrell, all of LaGrange; eight aunts, Mrs. Odessa Person, Mrs. Rosa Cameron, Mrs. Louise Wood, Mrs. Rosa Person, Mrs. Dorothy Laye, Mrs. Ella Mae Greene, Mrs. Ruby Turner and Mrs. Margaret Laye; six uncles, Eddie B. Person, W.C. Laye, Willie Frank Laye, Charlie Lewis Laye, Booker T. Laye and Henry Laye; a close friend, Melinda C. Hinton; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Canaan Baptist Church on Highway 219 North with the Rev. A. A. Heard Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his sister, Gloria Bradshaw, at 504 South Lee St.
Lakes - Dunson - Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Otis P. Cavender
Otis P. Cavender, 61, died Wednesday at his home. He was born March 18, 1941, in Heard County, the son of the late Alma and Myrtice Traylor Cavender. Mr. Cavender was employed at Keebles Service Station for over 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Penny Allen and a brother, Willie Cavender, both of LaGrange.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Ephesus Baptist Church cemetery in Heard County with the Rev. Mike Reeves officiating.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Amanda 'Mandy' Williams, 23, died Thursday at her home.

Cedric C. Irvin
Cedric Charles Irvin, formerly of LaGrange, died Sunday in Austin, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Lousie Irvin Goode of Austin, Texas; a son, Cedric Jr. and daughter, Latonya of Austin, Texas; local survivors include, cousins, Willie Strozier, Virginia Strozier, Alice Vines, Dorothy Thornton and Tracey Thornton, all of LaGrange; and a devoted friend, Yvonne Williams of LaGrange.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at All Faith Funeral Home, 8507 North IH - 35, Austin, Texas which is in charge of arrangements.

Monnie J. Braham
Monnie J. Braham of 717 Miami St., die Monday at Hospice.
Mr. Braham was a native of Fayetteville, N.C. He was a graduate of Johnson C. Smith College and was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
'Mr. B.', as he was affectionately called by his students, taught and served as coach at East Depot High School. He served as counselor at LaGrange High School until his retirement. He was an athletic official for more than 30 years, and was a member of Believers Bible Christian Church of Atlanta.
Survivors include two sons, Monnie J. Brabham III (Marilyn) of Macon, DeAndre L., Braham (Lindell), of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Monica P. Johnson (Tyrone) of Atlanta, Marcia J. Brabham - Jones (John) of Capitol Heights, Md.; daughter - in - law, Connie Brabham of LaGrange; grandchildren, Monnie Braham IV, Nicklaus Brabham, Matthew Braham, Dione Brabham, DeAndre Brabham II, Dargen Brabham, Megan Johnson, Jared Johnson, Alex Johnson, Jonae Jones, Jevon Jones, Manuel Brabham, Marquis Brabham; special friend, Blanche Hudson of LaGrange; a sister - in - law, Eloise McCamey Jordan of Fayetteville, N.C.; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn McCamey Brabam and a son, Marcel J. Brabham.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warren Temple United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. T. Edmondson officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 7 to 8.

Mrs. Carrie Gamble, 103, of 910 Colquitt St., died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Edward Anderson of Decatur died Tuesday in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Mary P. Anderson ; four daughters; four sons; grandchildren; sister - in - law, Annie Laura Burton; niece, Jeanette Williams, both of LaGrange; other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon Tuesday at Mount Ephraim Baptist Church with Dr. R.L. White officiating. Burial will be in Kennedy Memorial Gardens in Ellenwood.

Mrs. Carrie Gamble
Mrs. Carrie Gamble, 103, of 910 Colquitt Street, died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Gamble, a native of Talbot County, was the daughter of the late Job and Sarah Owens. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Rev. Willie Gamble. She was a member of Wards Chapel C.M.E. Church where she served on the Missionary, Stewardess and Trustee boards.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie Ruth (Willie) Cooper of LaGrange; two sons, Thomas Gamble of Columbus and Samuel (Laura Ann) Gamble of LaGrange; a sister, Willie Jean Terry of Springfield, N.Y.; a daughter - in - law, Emma Gamble of LaGrange; 32 grandchildren; 50 great - grandchildren; 46 great, great - grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Warren Temple United Methodist Church with the Revs. T.D. Brown, William Spratling, Perry Broughton and William Harris officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her granddaughter, Barbara Cooper at 317 East Greenwich Circle.

Mrs. Christine Turner
Mrs. Eula Christine Anglin Turner, 84, of 907 Callaway Ave., died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Turner, born November 7, 1917, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Florence M. Humphrey Anglin. She had lived here 83 years, was a homemaker, an a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Homer Lee Turner; two daughters and sons - in - law, Ruby F. and Herman Turner and Linda L. and Melvin Camp; a granddaughter, Sharon Camp; two grandsons, Keith Turner and Michael Turner, all of LaGrange. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Roma Mae Phillips and Nora Lee Looney and five brothers, James Carlise Langley, Charlie Wade Anglin, George Robert Neely, J.D. Anglin and Leon Woodrow Anglin.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hunter - Allen - Myhand Chapel with the Revs. Sid Shelnutt and Brandon Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8.
