Mrs. Sallie Buttrum
Mrs. Sallie Kate Buttrum, 90, of Amberwood Apartments, formerly of Brownwood Avenue died Sunday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Buttrum, born April 28, 1912 in Heard County, was the daughter of the late Alma and Ada Hardy. She retired as a spinner from Callaway Mills and was a faithful member of The First Assembly of God.
Survivors include a son and two daughters - in - law, Gene and Janice Buttrum of Jonesboro and Faye Buttrum of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Bonnie Foster of LaGrange, Jeannie Buttrum of Augusta, and Debbie Nelson of Jonesboro; two great - grandchildren, Lindsey Foster of LaGrange and Amy Burgess of Senoia; a great - great - grandchild, Alivia Burgess of Senoia and a brother, Troy Hardy of Arizona. Mrs. Buttrum was preceded in death by a son, Hilton Buttrum and her husband, Harvey Buttrum.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Max McCord officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening from Striffler - Hamby Mortuary.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary, 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Evelyn Arnold
Mrs. Evelyn Bartley Arnold, 95, of Hogansville, died Thursday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Arnold, born September 28, 1906 in Troup County, was the daughter of the late James Simpson Bartley and Lizzie Johnson Bartley. She had lived in Hogansville since 1943 and was retired from The Citizens Bank of Hogansville.
Mrs. Arnold was a former member of Green Bough Garden Club and the Hogansville Pilot Club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hogansville, where she was a member of the choir and active in the United Methodist Women. She was the wife of the late William P. Arnold Jr.
Survivors include a son, William P. Arnold III of Hogansville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Hogansville. The Revs. Kenneth Kulp, Helen Henry, and Marion Shivers will officiate. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.
It is the request of the family that flowers be omitted.

Mr. Thomas (Tom) Jackson, 36, of 24 Bartley Road, died Friday in Troup County.

M. David Moore III
M. David Moore III, 53, of Inman, S.C., formerly of LaGrange, died Wednesday.
Mr. Moore, a native of Spartanburg, S.C., was the son of the Rev. M.D. Moore Jr. of Spartanburg, S.C., and the late Sara Townsend Moore and was the husband of Margie Purser Moore.
Mr. Moore retired from Milliken and Company as the Director of Strategic Financial Planning.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 Friday at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Inman Mills Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spanish Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Inman Mills Baptist Church Building Fund, 22 B. St., Inman, S.C., 29349 or National Kidney Foundation of SC, Inc., 5000 Thurmond Mall, Suite 106, Columbia, S.C., 29201.
Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Leroy B. Smith
Leroy B. Smith, 75, of 109 West Meadow Way Drive, died Wednesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Smith, born April 10, 1927, in Randolph County, Ala., was the son of the late Seab and Ida Cooper Smith. He had lived in LaGrange most of his life and was a retired owner of Smith T.V. Service, a HAM radio operator and Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara J. Smith; a son, Dennis Smith; brothers and sisters - in - law, Odell and Virgie Smith and Trubee and Betty Smith, all of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hillview East cemetery with the Rev, Buddy James officiating.
The family will be at their home, 109 West Meadow Way Drive and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.

Earnest E. Woodruff
Earnest E. (Gene) Woodruff, 73, of 707 Camellia Drive, died Monday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Woodruff, born January 10, 1929 in LaGrange, was the son of the late Huel Alfred and Ruby Jewell McClurg Woodruff. He had lived here all of his life and was a retired manager of Bush Jewelry after 41 years of service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange and was a member of Troup County Senior Center. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Signal Corp during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy (Snow) Woodruff of LaGrange; a daughter and son - in - law, Jeanie and Allen Mann; a grandson, Richie Mann; a granddaughter and grandson - in - law, Ali and Chris Windham; a grandson, Josh Mann, all of Opelika, Ala.; two sisters and a brother - in - law, Betty Polk of Cleveland, Ga., Peggy and Freddie Stagg; a sister - in - law, Catherine Woodruff, both of LaGrange; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with Dr. George Sinclair and the Rev. Bobby Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, in Eclectic, Ala.
The family will be at his home and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Woodruff.

Dewey Taylor Smith
Dewey Taylor Smith, 78, of LaFayette, Ala., died Sunday, Nov. 10 at Bill Nichols State Veteran Home, Alexander City, Ala.
Mr. Smith, born Dec. 23, 1923 in Glenn, was the son of the late Ione Adcock. He retired from The Chambers County Hospital Maintenance Department and served in the United States Air Force 18th Depot Supply Squadron.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lola Treadwell Smith of LaFayette, Ala.; a son, Teddy (Linda) Smith of Dadeville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Tad Smith of LaFayette, Ala., Shanan (Mark) Molnar of LaGrange, Shan Smith and Chanel Smith, both of Dadeville, Ala.; two great - grandchildren, Allie Herndon and Andrew Molnar, both of LaGrange; a brother, Willard Adcock of LaFayette, Ala.; two sisters, Shirley Gooden of LaFayette, and Florence Teel of Opelika, Ala.; two sisters - in - law, Opal Smith of LaFayette, Ala. and Winnie Nell Fincher; and a aunt, Linnie Davis, both of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church, LaFayette, with the Revs. Clifford DeLee and Charles Whitson officiating. Interment will be in Lafayette City Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8.

Marion L. Patten
Mrs. Marion Lanham Patten, 90, of the Vernon Woods Retirement Community, died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Patten, born September 25, 1912 in Atlanta, was the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Pritchard Lanham. She was a founding member of the Morningside Presbyterian Church in Atlanta and was retired from the superintendent's office of the LaGrange School System.
Mrs. Patten was a member of the LaGrange Womens Club, Miram Chapter #32 O.E.S., National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society of the Daughters of the American Colonists, UDC, USD 1812, and CDXVII.
Survivors include a son, Paul Payne (Pat) Patten Jr.; three grandchildren, Zachary P. Patten, Lindsay M. Patten, and Nicholas S. Patten, all of LaGrange; two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor McNeel of Atlanta, and Mrs. Carolyn Irminger of Lees Summit, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Payne Patten Sr.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shadowlawn cemetery with Dr. William Conine officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Patten.

W. Verrell Price
W. Verrell Price, 84, of 253 Rutland Circle, died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Price, born Dec. 23, 1917, in Washington County, was the son of the late Arlie Weaver Price and the late Minnie Powell Price. He spent his childhood in Thomaston, where he graduated from Robert E. Lee Institute, and was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, having served as a first class petty officer on the USS Talamanaca.
A resident of LaGrange since 1945, Mr. Price retired as a machinist from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell after more than 30 years of service. He was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church of LaGrange and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Thelma Cook Price of LaGrange; two daughters and a son - in - law, Peggy Rice of Whitesville and Anne and Tom Carraway of Lawrenceville; two sisters, Cecelia Isbell of Eatonton and Janice Pitts of Escondido, Calif.; a brother, Laundice Lee Price of Philadelphia, Penn; nine grandchildren; 21 great - grandchildren; and a great - great - granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Ben Bennett will officiate. Interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 Wednesday.
