Mrs. Grace Bagley
Mrs. Grace C. Bagley, 80, of LaGrange died Monday in Maplewood, Minn..
Mrs. Bagley, born July 2, 1902, in Columbus, was the daughter of the late Willie Franklin and Rebecca Cook. She had lived in Minnesota for the last two years. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and retired after 30 years from West Point Pepperell.
Survivors include three daughters and sons - in - law, Catherine and Bernard Rushforth of Maplewood, Minn., Charlie and Sallie McCormick of LaGrange, and Shirley and Melvin Fry of Farlington, Kan.; five sons and four daughters - in - law, Robert and Mary Bagley of Lanett, Ala., Tommy and Stephanie Bagley, Louis and Brenda Bagley, Roswell and Glenda Bagley and David Bagley, all of LaGrange; 30 grandchildren, 58 great - grandchildren, and four great - great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Eugene (Red) Bagley and a daughter, Nancy West.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road with the Rev. Aaron McCollough officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon cemetery on Bartley Road.
The family will be at the home of her son, Tommy Bagley, at 34 Glenda Drive, and will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8.

Mrs. Phillis J. Stone, 59, of 2424 County Road 160 in LaFayette, Ala., died Monday at Randolph Medical Center.

Ricky Hardaway, 21, of Walnut Creek Lane in Grantville died Saturday.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Grantville with the Rev. C. Melson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Thrash & Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dorothy Neal
Mrs. Dorothy Duke Neal, 76, of 233 Fling Road died Sunday at her home.
Mrs. Neal, born August 30, 1924, in Aragon, was the daughter of the late Iron Samuel and Bessie Kate Oliver Rowe. She returned here in 1967 and was a homemaker. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church where she very active in the senior choir, Gleaners Sunday School Class and in other church activities.
Survivors include her husband, Henry R. Neal of LaGrange; two daughters, Sandra O'Brien of Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Debra Miles of LaGrange; two sons, James O. Duke of Thomasville and Robert Edward Duke of Fort Worth, Texas; a stepdaughter, Nancy Suit of Macon; two stepsons, Wesley Neal of Topeka, Kansas, and Winston Neal of Greenville; a brother, Robert E. Rowe of Pell City, Ala.; 14 grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, and four great - grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Western Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Brown officiating.
The family will be at her home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Western Heights Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Neal.

Mrs. Kathryn Preast
Mrs. Kathryn E. Preast, 70, of 815 North Greenwood St., LaGrange died Monday at West Georgia Medical Ceter.
Mrs. Preast, born May 30, 1931, in Heard County, was the daughter of the late Dovard and Etta Adams Norwood. She had lived here most of her life and was a retired manager of the Kenwin Shop. She was a member of Hilyer Baptist Church where she was in the senior adult Sunday school class.
Survivors include two daughters and sons - in - law, Glenda and William T. Jones of LaGrange and Norma and Steve Logan of Pine Mountain; a granddaughter, Gina Jones of LaGrange; two grandsons and granddaughters - in - law, Brent and Gina Ussery of Columbus and Byron and Kelly Jones of LaGrange; five great - grandchildren, Eli Ussery and Josh Ussery, both of Columbus and Ashley Brown, Anna Brown and Abbey Brown, all of LaGrange; a niece, Wendy Hawk; a nephew, Wayne Norwood, both of Hogansville; close friends, Laverne Nelson and Grace Robinson, and many friends at Amberwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Preast.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with the Revs. Cullen Clements and S.T. Janney officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at the home of her daughter and son - in - law, Glenda and William T. Jones at 1241 Smokey Road and will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 until 9.

Mrs. Posie Mae Darden Hurbert of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Monday in Pittsburgh.

Willie McCurty
Willie McCurty of 209 Niles St., died Saturday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. McCurty, a native of Randolph County, Ala., was the son of the late Sam and Jimmie Taylor McCurty. He retired from the Hillside Plant of Milliken & Company and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Welch, Ala.
Survivors include a son and daughter - in - law, Charlie Joe and Connie McCurty of Decatur; two daughters and sons - in - law, Priscilla and George Ransom and Valerie and Larry Moody, all of LaGrange; five grandchildren and a great - grandchild; two sisters and a brother - in - law, Mattie and Leroy Heard of LaGrange, and Sarah Taylor of Atlanta; a brother, Jimmy McCurty of Atlanta; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Allen McCurty.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. EDT at Canaan Baptist Church in Welch, with the Rev. Ervin Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at their home.

James Edward Hunt
James Edward Hunt, 83, of LaGrange died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Hunt, born January, 16, 1918, in Troup County, was the son of the late Marcus Leslie Sr. and Mattie Lou Lanier Hunt. He had lived here all of his life and was an Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Troup County Coon Hunter's Association and Union Lodge #28 Free & Accepted Masons. He was a member and deacon of Unity Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Frances Hunt Moore; a brother and sister - in - law, Charles and Ann Hunt; a sister - in - law, Marie Whitlow Hunt; three nieces, two nephews; and several great - nieces and great - nephews, all of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Frances Davis Hunt, and a brother, M.L. Hunt, Jr.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Grantville City Cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, Charles Hunt, at 706 Hunt Road.
Jones Funeral Home in Newnan is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jeanette Cohen
Mrs. Jeanette Folds Cohen, 91, formerly of 107 Rutland Circle, died Sunday at Florence Hand Home.
Mrs. Cohen, born July 29, 1909, in Meriwether County, was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Annie Lee Dollar Folds. She had lived here all of her life and retired from the Hillside Plant of Milliken & Company. She was a member of East Vernon Baptist Church and The Twenty - Five Year Club of Callaway Mills Company.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Sue Harmon of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Cohen.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with the Rev. Derrick Lewis and Jack Folds officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her sister, Mary Sue Harmon at 817 Forrest Ave., and will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 until 9.

Wayne O. Battle
Wayne O. Battle, 85, of LaGrange died Saturday at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Battle, born June 23, 1915, in Cleveland, Tenn., was the son of the late Wayne and Gertie Clark Battle. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was the retired executive director of Federal Housing of Franklin County, owner of Battle's on the Square Restaurant in Benton, Ill., and was supply pastor for the North Georgia Conference and Southern Illinois District of the United Methodist Church for 32 years. He was a Mason, a Shriner, was a member of LaGrange Lions Club, the Rotary Club and the VFW. He was president of the Illinois State Association of Housing Authority Director and waspresident of the Benton, Ill. Chamber of Commerce. He was a charter member of the Athletic Booster Club at Benton High School and president of the Benton School Board.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Marjorie P. Battle of LaGrange; four daughters and sons - in - law, Judy and Ralph Lindgren of LaPorte, Ind., Martha and Dennis Bowdoin of Fowlerville, Mich., Mary and Larry Stone of Ingleside Ill. and Bobbie and David Clark of Shelbyville, Ind.; two sons and daughters - in - law, John and Sherry Battle of Christopher, Ill., and Tom and Lura Battle of Madison, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great - grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Memorial services will be June 30 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in LaGrange.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice LaGrange or First United Methodist Church in LaGrange.
Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.

Christopher G. Hosey
Christopher Gene Hosey, 27, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., died Sept. 26. 2003.
Mr. Hosey, born Sept. 11, 1976, in Heidelburg, Germany, and had lived most of his life in Arizona. He was known to his family as their gentle giant.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and James Morgan of Sierra Vista, Ariz; father and stepmother, Clifford and Dale Hosey of LaGrange; sister, Rebecca Bone of Oxford; a stepsister, Iona Waddops of Hereford, Ariz.; stepbrother, James Morgan Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.;; grandmother, Hazel Hosey of LaGrange; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Son Funeral Home with the Revs. Milton Hall and Wesley Boatman officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Hill cemetery beside his best friend and grandmother, Odessa Kent who died in March.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 until 9.
