Dorothy Lee Davidson
Dorothy Lee Davidson, 63, of West Point died Thursday at her home.
Ms. Davidson, born March 12, 1937, in Troup County, was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Jessie Ingram Tucker Sr. She was a graduate of the West Point Public School System and retired from the George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, Ala., with 28 years of service.
Survivors include two daughters and sons - in - law, Theresa and Horace Gillman of West Point and Lavonne and Eddie Johnson of LaGrange; three brothers, Henry A. Tucker Jr. of San Jose, Calif., and Alzon Tucker and Leroy Tucker, both of West Point; three sisters and two brothers - in - law, Willie M. Patillo of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Wyvonna and Lewis Rodriguez and Margaret and Aron Callaway, all of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Harrell, Andre' Gilliam Sr., Corey Davidson, Shameka Davidson, Tameka Davidson, Raymond Davidson, Desmond Gilliam and Lucas Davidson; and nine great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at North 13th Church of Christ with the Thomas Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Marseilles Cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 this evening at the funeral home.

Harry Uther Harper
Harry Uther Harper, 82, of 6278 Old West Point Road died Saturday at Florence Hand Home.
Mr. Harper, born August 25, 1918, in Randolph County, Ala., was the son of the late John William and Minnie Mathews Harper. He had lived in LaGrange most of his life and was a charter member of Ayers Memorial United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War 11 and a former employee of Milliken & Company and Woodbury Business Form.
Survivors include a daughter and on - in - law, Teresa and Steve Langley of West Point; a son and daughter - in - law, Fred and Sherrie Harper of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Shawn Langley, Tabitha Langley, Alan Harper and Adam Harper; a niece, Norma Choate of Gallatin, Tenn.; and a nephew, Albert Harper of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Ayers Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brett Matthews and John Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will be at the home of his son and daughter - in - law, Fred and Sherrie Harper, at 6278 Old West Point Road and will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Claire Howard
Mrs. Claire Morgan Howard, 59, of Dacula died Saturday.
Mrs. Howard, a native of Troup County, graduated from LaGrange High School and was a director of trade shows for The Georgia Hospitality Travel Association in Atlanta.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Howard of Dacula; two sons and daughters in law, Morgan and Mary Lee Howard of Sugar Hill and Mike and Esther Howard of Ft. Bragg, N.C..; grandchildren, Abby, Ryan, Matt and Page Howard; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Flanagan Funeral Home in Buford ( 770 - 932 - 1133) with the Rev. Scott Hopkins officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Howard.

Mrs. Virginia Forsyth Morgan, 83, of the Union Community of Harris County died Sunday at West Georgia Medical Center.

Willie Wilkerson
Willie (Freel) Wilkerson, 51, of 105 Grady St., died Monday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Wilkerson, born May 1, 1949, in LaGrange was the son of the late Wiley Wilkerson Jr. and Mozine Sales. He was employed at Durand - Wayland and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Wilkerson; a daughter and son - in - law, Tiffany and Rodney Heard; a son Kelton Wilkerson; two grandchildren, Kayla Heard and Shakeria Green, all of LaGrange; eight sisters, Geraldine Cofield, Yvonne Love, Cora Wilkerson, Janice Wilkerson, Martha and Walter Lovelace, all of LaGrange, Linda Wilkerson Boddie of Charlotte, N.C., Colleen Sales of Hogansville and Jarvis and John Lovelace of West Point; five brothers Leon and Cheryl Wilkerson, of College Park, Roy Wilkerson, Charlie Tatum and Wiley Wilkerson III, all of LaGrange and Johnny Sales of Franklin; mother - in - law and father - in - law, Hosey and Lula Bell McDaniel of LaGrange; his godmother, Sarah W. Hammett of LaGrange; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul C.M.E. Church in Gabbettville with the Rev. Lovett Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at his home.

George E. Morrison Jr.
George Edward Morrison Jr., 59, of 561 Talbotton St. in Greenville died Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Morrison, born July 6, 1941, in Grady County, was the son of Mrs. Mamie Kelley Morrison of Cairo and the late George Edward Morrison Sr. He was a food service manager. He was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church having served in several church offices including a teacher in the Men's Bible Class, past president of the Greenville Lions Club, past president of the Jonesboro Kiwanis Club, member of Greenville Volunteer Fire Department, Meriwether Historical Society and Al Sihah Shrine Temple.
Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife, Jane Mathews Morrison of Greenville; a daughter, Anise Morrison of LaGrange; a brother and sister - in - law, Doug and Lorita Morrison of Thibadaux, La.; three sisters and brothers - in - law, Hazel and Robert Fleming of Jacksonville, Fla., Lee and Ray Brown of Fannin Springs, Fla., and Brenda and George Cheney of Coeur d'Alene, Wash.; his mother - in - law, Vivian Mathews of Greenville; a sister - in - law, Vivian Pettigrew of Jonesboro; a niece, Carole Anne Pettigrew Harper and Darren Harper of McDonough; a close family friend, Orval Curry of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ron Capes and Padgett Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Greenville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Florence T. Hines
Mrs. Florence Tingle Hines, 94, formerly of 221 Beechwood Circle, died Thursday at Florence Hand Home.
Mrs. Hines, born October 22, 1906, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of the late Frank and Jessie Mae Green Tingle. She had lived here most of her life and was the former owner of Hines Ladies Apparel. She retired as a carrier for the LaGrange Daily News in the Pine Mountain area and was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square.
Survivors include two sisters - in - law, Sue Eady and Tillie Burnham, both of LaGrange; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were at 11 this morning at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home with Dr. Paul R. Baxter officiating. Burial was in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Karen E. Treadwell
Mrs. Karen E. Treadwell, 48, of 302 Lakecrest Lane died Wednesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Treadwell, born July 11, 1952 in Milledgeville, was the daughter of Ennis and Jessie Nolan Quinn of LaGrange. She lived in LaGrange during her early childhood and graduated from the Clayton Campus of the University of Georgia Nursing School. She had worked for many years as a registered nurse at Henry County Hospital. She was a Baptist.
Survivors in addition to her parents, include her husband, Tom Treadwell of LaGrange; a daughter and a son - in - law, Cassandra and David Ryder of Fairfax, Va.; a son and daughter - in - law, Thomas Paul and Jan Treadwell of Iowa; a sister, Patricia Morgan of LaGrange; a granddaughter, Jasmine Ryder of Fairfax, Va; and a nephew, Bucky Morgan of LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Fred Buchanan officiating. A private burial will be held later. The family will be at their home at 302 Lakecrest Lane or at the home of her parents at 98 Maley Road.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may contribute to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1100 Circle 75 Parkway, Suite 630, Atlanta, Ga., 30339, in memory of Mrs. Treadwell.

Mrs. Maggie Cox Ward
Mrs. Maggie Cox Ward, formerly of LaGrange, died in New York City, N.Y.
Local survivors include two sisters and a brother - in - law, Cleo Gates and Annie and John Ray Jr., all of LaGrange.
Funeral services and burial were held today in New York City.
Benta's Funeral Home at 630 St. Nicholas Ave., New York, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Norvelle H. Miller
Mrs. Norvelle H. Miller, 102, of Pine Mountain, formerly of Orlando, Fla., died Thursday at Rosemont Nursing Home in Stone Mountain.
Mrs. Miller, born May 22, 1898, in Carrollton, was the daughter of the late Dr. James Daniel and Prisilla Gardner Hamrick. She was a homemaker and sales lady in the Orlando area. She lived in Orlando from 1950 to 1993 where she was involved in the community, church and duplicate bridge activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain.
Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Davis of Pine Mountain; a son and daughter - in - law, James D. and Ruth Miller of Bristol, Va.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. James and Freda Davis of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Joy and Doug Askew of Loganville, David Miller of Charleston, W.Va., Diane and, Dr. Robert Taylor of McDonald Tenn., and Lee and Sandy Miller of Naperville, Ill.; 11 great - grandchildren; four great - great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Otis S. Miller.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Pine Mountain with the Revs. Wayne Hollaway and Mabry A. Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Mountain Cemetery.The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mildred Davis at 5565 Georgia Highway 354 in Pine Mountain and will receive friends at the church following the burial service.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pine Mountain in memory of Mrs. Miller.
