Mrs. Lillia Mae Grier 67, of Hogansville died Friday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Hogansville with the Rev. Joseph McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Westview cemetery in Hogansville.

Mrs. Lurlie Arrington
Mrs. Lurlie W. Arrington, 62, of 147 Marlboro Way died Friday evening at Columbus Medical Center.
Mrs. Arrington was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Heard County, the daughter of Mrs. Anne Barber Whitley and the late Jeff Whitley. She lived here for the past 42 years and was a secretary with the Live Oak plant of Milliken and Company.
Survivors other than her mother include her husband, B.J. Arrington of LaGrange; a daughter and son - in - law, Angela and Steve Payne of Auburn; two sons and a daughter - in - law, Anthony and Brenda Arrington of Little Rock, Ark., and Alan Arrington of LaGrange; grandchildren, Brittney Arrington, Whitley Arrington, Rachel Arrington, Brandon Arrington, Charlie Arrington and Jared Payne; a sister and brother - in - law, Beverly and Jimmy Rainwater of Franklin; a brother and sister - in - law, Jerome and Linda Whitley of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be this afternoon at 2 at Striffler - Hamby Mortuary at 1010 Mooty Bridge Road, with the Revs. Dennis Boyd and Jimmy McMillian officiating. Burial will be in the Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
The family will be at her home.

Mrs. Mary Smith
Mrs. Mary Catherine Strong Smith, 82, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Friday at Heartland Health Care Center.
Mrs. Smith was born on Jan. 31, 1919, in Randolph County. She lived most of her life in Valley and LaGrange, and was a former employee of the West Point Pepperill Mill in Langdale.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Joe Smith of Peachtree City, James Smith of Ranburne, and Marvin Smith of King Salmon, Ala.; two daughters, Mable Sharp of Jacksonville, Fla. and Brenda Spaulding of Charleston, S.C.; five sisters, Odean Hayes of Valley, Pearl Oliver of Lanett, Ruthie Hamlet of Alexander City, Ala., Alvie Mae Lake and Leona Lake of Phenix City; two brothers, John Strong of West Point and Earl Strong of Ft. Worth, Texas; 14 grandchildren and five great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maple Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Brown - Service Funeral Home in Valley, with the Rev. Jimmy Bowden officiating. Burial will be at the Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this afternoon from 3 until 6.

Mrs. Mary L. Perdue
Mrs. Mary Louise Perdue, 63, of 1086 South Thompson Road in Pine Mountain died Wednesday at Newnan Hospital.
Mrs. Perdue, born June 24, 1937, in LaGrange, was the daughter of the late Love and Ruby Hall Pruitt. She was a secretary at Troup County Gas and attended Flat Shoals Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Autrey Perdue of Pine Mountain; a daughter, Vickie Probst of Newnan; a son and daughter - in - law, Rodney and Michelle Perdue of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Laura Rachael Perdue of Atlanta, Victoria Caitlyn Probst of Newnan, Ashley Nichole Perdue and Jennifer Marie Perdue both of Atlanta; a sister and brother - in - law, Margaret and Hollie Talley of Columbus; a brother, Tommy Pruitt of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Flat Shoals Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Troup County with Dr. Frederick V. Mills Sr. officiating.
The family will be at her home and will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at Hunter - Allen - Myhand Funeral Home.

Porter Carter Jr.
Porter Carter Jr. of 604 Whitesville St., died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Decatur.
Mr. Carter, born in Harris County, was the son of Mrs. Viola Carter of LaGrange and the late Porter Carter Sr. He was an Army veteran of World War II and owner of Carter's Barber Shop for over 50 years.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Mrs. Lilla Carter; five sons and three daughters - in - law, Winston and Shirley Carter, Lawrence Carter and Porter Carter III, all of LaGrange, Kevin and Geraldine Carter of East Point and Gregory and Linda Carter of Union City; a sister, Mary Ellison of LaGrange; a brother and sister - in - law, Walter and Mary Carter of LaGrange; eight grandchildren, eight great - grandchildren; and several other relatives.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church at 506 Hamilton St., with the Rev. J.W. Russell officiating.Bural will be in Southview Cemetery.
The family will be at his home.

Mrs. Emma Davenport of 306 Carver St., died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Davenport, born in Troup County, was the daughter of the late John and Elvira Thornhill Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of South Park Avenue Church of Christ.

Mrs. Jimmie Lee Bowen Anglin, 68, of 320 Old Chipley Road in Pine Mountain died Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Anglin, born April 25, 1932, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of the late Floyd Jackson and Mamie Osborn Bowen. She had lived here most of her life, retired from LaGrange Molding and was a member of Bethel Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Anglin of Pine Mountain; three sons and a daughter - in - law, Charles and Linda Whitley of Mountville, and Michael Sherrer and Ronald Sherrer, both of LaGrange; a daughter and son - in - law, Vicky and Tony Lee of Pine Mountain; five grandchildren and a granddaughter - in - law, Edward and Amanda Whitley, Chad Whitley, Mark Whitley, and Anthony Whitley, all of LaGrange and Christi Lee of Pine Mountain; 10 great - grandchildren; a brother and sister - in - law, Guy and Jackie Bowen of LaGrange; three sisters and brothers - in - law, Jan and Michael Pruitt and Sue and Winford Parmer, all of LaGrange and Linda and Charles Hallmark of Franklin; a sister - in - law, Catherine Bowen of Hogansville; four brothers - in - law and two sisters - in - law, Roger Anglin, Frank and Jan Anglin and Jack and Sonia Anglin, all of Lakeland, Fla., and Jack Estes of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.
