James Henry “Chick” Radcliffe Sr.
Mr. James Henry “Chick” Radcliffe Sr., 70, of Statesboro died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Radcliffe, a native of Burke County, was a 1954 graduate of Waynesboro High School. He served as a civilian technician for 36 years with the GaARNG before ending his military career as property book officer overseeing all property and inventory of the National Guard Training Center at Ft. Stewart. He retired with 42 years of service to the GaARNG. He served as president of the Statesboro Jaycees as well as Region 10 president of Jaycees. He was a founding member and past president of Minutmen Investors. He was a member of Ways Baptist Church. He was a founding member and former president of the Clarence Brack “Top Five” Club, a National Guard NCO organization.
A second funeral was held at Ways Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
The funeral was Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. at Statesboro First Baptist Church with Elder Randy Waters, CW4 (Ret.) Billy F. Stewart and BG (Ret.) Fred Shaver officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne Swan Radcliffe; two sons, James Henry Radcliffe Jr., Hiram, and Woodrow Swan Radcliffe, Carlisle, Penn.; one daughter, Sara Joanne Radcliffe Cook, Atlanta; his sister, Kathryn Radcliffe Hamilton, Martinez; four grandchildren; and several other relatives.
Pallbearers were Edwin Akins, Roland Bell, Gene Denmark, Rodney Harville, Jack Henry and Paul Strange.
Honorary pallbearers were members and spouses of the Clarence Brack “Top Five” Club and active and retired members of the Georgia National Guard and their spouses.

Miss Jenibel Boyd Miss Jenibel Boyd, 94, of Stapleton died Aug. 7, 2006, at University Hospital.
Miss Boyd was a member of Stapleton Baptist Church and Keenagers. She was retired from the U.S. Post Of- fice. She is preceded in death by her brother, Carl Boyd, and a sister, Nellie Boyd.
The funeral was Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. at Stapleton Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Daniel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Lillian Boyd Stacy and Julia Boyd Maher; one brother, James T. Boyd; a sister-in-law, Rebie Boyd; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mr. James “Boot” Murray Mr. James “Boot” Murray died Monday, July 24, 2006. Mr. Murray, a native of Jefferson County, was the son of the late John Wesley Murray and Willie Alice Jordan Murray. He retired after 31 years of service from J.M. Huber Mining Company. He is preceded in death by a wife Moiden Davis Murray.
The funeral was July 29 at 11 a.m. at Wrens Chapel AME Church with the Revs. Samuel Thompkins and David Batts officiating. Burial was in Sugar Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie H. Mr. Frederick A. Rheney Mr. Frederick A. Rheney, 83, of Smyrna died Friday, July 28, 2006.
Mr. Rheney, a native of Wadley, served his country during WWII with the 15th Air Force in Italy. He attended Georgia State University. He retired from Atlanta Public Schools, Henry Grady High School. He was a member of Smyrna First United Methodist Church and Friendship Class.
The funeral was July 31 at Smyrna First United Methodist Church with Dr. Stuart Greene and Jim Wesley offi- ciating. Burial was in Georgia Memorial Park cemetery in Marietta.
Survivors include his wife, Clyda Rheney; two daughters, Sheryl Rheney Frick, Smyrna, and Karen Rheney Barboza, Dallas; one brother, P. Austin Rheney, Wadley; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Willie Lee “Bobby” Watson Mr. Willie Lee “Bobby” Watson of Bartow died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006.

Mrs. Dells Sue Dixon Armstrong of Riverview, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006.
Mrs. Armstrong, a native of Louisville, was the daughter of the late Mollie Newsome Dixon and Grey Cummings Dixon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl A. Armstrong.

Mr. Warren Hodges Sr., 82, of Midville died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006.
Mr. Hodges was a native of Emanuel County and a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Mary Ruth Tester Trivett
Mrs. Mary Ruth Tester Trivett of Thomson died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006.
Mrs. Trivett, a native of Hampton, Tenn., lived most of her life in Thomson.
She was the daughter of the late Ronald Earle Tester and Nan Williams Tester.
She was retired from Kinglsey Mill after 38 years of service. She was also a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post #7778.

Mr. Henry “Hank” Hammond Blanchard Jr., 59, of Waynesboro died Saturday, June 3, 2006.
Mr. Blanchard, born in Louisville, was the son of the late Hammond and Mary Miller Blanchard. He was a member of Rosemont Heights Baptist Church. He was a UGA graduate, a member of the Waynesboro Country Club, a director of First National Bank and served in the National Guard. The funeral was June 5 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro with the Revs. Wayne Dixon and Marshall Singletary officiating. Burial was in Burke Memorial Gardens.
