Johnnie Walden Anderson
Mrs. Johnnie Walden Anderson, 78, of Augusta died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 at University Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. Anderson, a native of Glascock County, was the daughter of the late Macon and Lucy Swint Walden. She had retired as a cottage mother after 17 years from Gracewood School and Hospital. She was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
The funeral was Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church with the Revs. Greg Bentley and Robert Boyd officiating. Burial was in Westover Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Vance Anderson Sr.; her sons, Albert Vance Anderson Jr., Augusta, and Gary Allen Anderson, Graniteville; daughters, Ann Anderson, Atlanta, and Patricia Wood, Gibson; brothers, Rev. Thurman Walden and Rev. Herman Walden, both of Hephzibah, Ray Walden, Augusta, Macon Walden Jr., Louisville and Bennie Walden, Edgehill; sisters, Ruth Searcy, New Castle, Ind., Frankie Lamb and Mary Huff, both of Augusta; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brandon Anderson, Clint Anderson, Tim Rockefeller, Alvin Anderson, Lee Waters and Francis Corbett. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Southside Baptist Church and Brent Richards.

David James Benson
Mr. David James Benson, 30, of Mitchell died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003.
Mr. Benson, a native of Richmond County, was a 1993 graduate of Harlem High School. He was a lumber grader for GA-Pacific Corporation in Warrenton and a Christian. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ray "Jimmy" Benson.
The funeral was Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Gibson with the Revs. Richard Kitchens and Larry D. Haire Sr. officiating. Burial was in the Gibson United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Gina H. Benson, Dearing; two daughters, Delaney Paige Miles, Augusta, and Cameron Lexis Benson, Dearing; his mother, Dale Ellis, Appling; one sister, Sabrina Benson, Appling; two brothers, Travis RAy Benson, Mitchell, and Kenny Ellis, Appling; his paternal grandmother, Annie Jo Benson, Norwood; and maternal grandmother, Alice Aldred, Appling.

Mrs. Olena Collins Holloway, 86, of Wrens died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003.

Mr. Ike Nelson, 76, of Pompano Beech, Fla., died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003.

Mr. Andrew C. Barber, 28, of Lincolnton died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003.
Mr. Barber, a native of Riverdale, was an elevator technician for Dover Elevator Company. He attended First Baptist Church. He was the husband of Jefferson County 4-H Extension Agent Elizabeth Barber.
The funeral was Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Washington, with Dr. John Childers and the Rev. Albert Hoyck officiating. Burial was in Clifford Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Charlie E. Evans, 53, of Avera died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Jefferson Hospital.

Thomas Watson "Crip" Fennell
Mr. Thomas Watson "Crip" Fennell, 86, of Wadley died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003.
Mr. Fennell, a native of Emanuel County, lived most of his life in Jefferson County. He was a farmer and a carpenter and attended Dellwood Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at Wadley cemetery with the Rev. Bill Thompson officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Belle Fennell; two daughters, Dorothy Nell (Earl) Morris, Martinez; Barbara (Miles) Scarboro, Wadley; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Hugh Dorsey Fincher
Mr. Hugh Dorsey Fincher, 87, of Bartow died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003.
Mr. Fincher, formerly of Grand Rivers, Ky., was born in Fulton County but had lived in Bartow since March of 1967. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a retired mechanic from Thermo King, Inc. He was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church.
The funeral was Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at Old Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Thigpen officiating. Burial was in Parkers United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bartow.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Julia Fincher; a daughter, Alice (Harry) Snyder, Plainview, Texas; a son, Clay (Dana) Fincher, Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Andrew Smith and Chance Snyder, Plainview, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ola Fincher, Atlanta.

Mr. Joe McClinton Jones Sr. of Wadley died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003.

Mrs. Gracie L. Ochsenknecht, 69, of Marietta died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Kennestone Hospital in Kennesaw.
Mrs. Ochsenknecht, a native of Terry, Miss., was a member of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and mother of six children.

May Smith Puckett
Mrs. May Smith Puckett of Milledgeville died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003.
Mrs. Puckett was a native of Milledgeville but lived in Louisville for many years before returning to Milledgeville. She taught English for 12 years at the Louisville High School and was the widow of the late Melvin Howard Puckett.
The funeral was Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Moores Funeral Home. Burial was in West View Cemetery.

Harvey Unruh
Mr. Harvey Unruh, 92, of Louisville died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at Old Heritage.
Mr. Unruh, a native of Kansas, moved to Georgia in 1954. He was a member of the Pinecrest Mennonite Church of Louisville. He was a retired dairyman. He was preceded in death by one son, one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Mennonite Church with Ministers Maynard Peters, Paul Wagner, Randall Goossen and Brian Dyck officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lottie Unruh; two daughters Rosalie (Ike) Loewen, Glenn, Calif., and Thelma (Harlan) Gearig, Sedalia, Ky.; sons, Melvin (Barbara) Unruh, Louisville, Kenneth (Ann) Unruh, Dumand, Ark., Harlan (Glenda) Unruh and Ronald (Frances) Unruh; one daughter-in-law, Mabel and husband Walt Enz, Louisville; 35 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; five brothers; one sister; and many other relatives.
