Harold R. Rodgers, Sr.
Harold R. Rodgers, Sr. age 81, of McDonough, Georgia, died October 16, 2009. He was born
in Atlanta to the late Rufus Zelma and Annie (Covington) Rodgers. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Ann and Carolyn Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, McDonough, where he taught Sunday school for 38 years. He achieved an attendance Sunday school pin for 21 consecutive years of attendance. Mr. Rodgers retired from Terminal Transport Company in 1986, having been employed in the trucking industry for 40+ years.
Mr. Rodgers is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Josephine Miller Rodgers; son and daughter-in-law Harold (Buddy) R. and Kathleen Rodgers, Jr. son, Dana Lee Rodgers; sisters, Jean Bowen, Nancy (Lowell) Belk; granddaughter, Gwendolynn Rodgers, one niece and several nephews.
Funeral services were held on October 19 at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Alex Stroud and Rev. Renfroe Watson officiating. Interment at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
Gilbert L. Murray
Mr. Gilbert L. Murray, age 68, of Stockbridge, Georgia, died September 20, 2009. Mr. Murray was born
in Detroit, Michigan to the late O.T. and Eva Murray. Mr. Murray was a business owner and salesman throughout most of his life. He was an avid traveler, and traveled all around the United States, Europe, Asia, Japan, South America and the Caribbean. In 2005, “Gil,” as he was fondly known to all his family and friends, along with his wife Adoris, moved to Stock-bridge.
He is survived by his wife, Adoris Murray of Stockbridge; children, Derek (Lasetha) Murray of Wentzville, Missouri, Rhonda Buford of Stockbridge, Danielle (Jonathan) Black of San Diego, California, and Sean (Mary) Tabor of Summerville, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren and one grandchild on the way, one great-grandchild; sister, Sandra Murray of Detroit, Michigan; brother, William “Bob” (Christina) of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Henry) Cooper Copher, Eagan, Minnesota, Sue Massie Curry, Richfield, Minnesota; brothers-in-law, William "Bill" (Billie) Massie of Burnsvile, Minnesota, Brian (Shirley) Massie of St. Paul, Minnesota, Dale (Linda) Massie of St. Paul, Minnesota; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special and long time friends Avery and Emma Ford of Desoto, Texas , and an entire contingent of extremely close friends considered as “extended” family members.
Services were held October 2 at Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel in Stockbridge, with Mr. Murray's son, Rev. Derek Murray officiating. Horis A. Ward.
Robert Cecil Neese
Robert Cecil Neese, age 77 of McDonough, Georgia, died September 29, 2009. He was born
in LaGrange to the late George Payton and Edna Lowery Neese. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Neese. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his children, Cecil (Tina) Neese of Riverdale, Cindy (James) Taylor of Fort Long, South Carolina and Lynn (John) Tobey of Waxhaw, North Carolina; stepson, Roger Neese; 10 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and a sister.

Nora Sanders Fellows
Nora Sanders Fellows, age 88, of McDonough, Georgia, died October 1, 2009. Mrs. Fellows was born
in Albany, the daughter of the late Mattie Woodham and Andrew Sylvanus Sanders.
She retired from Ft. McPherson, where she worked as a secretary. Mrs. Fellows was a member of County Line Congregational Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, gardening, playing cards, crossword puzzles and was an avid Braves fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Fellows, a son, Michael Fellows; and several siblings.
Survivors are her children, Tony and Gale Fellows and Gail Pack of McDonough; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Homer Gray Brannan, Jr.
Homer Gray Brannan, Jr, age 83, of McDonough, Georgia, died October 4, 2009. He was born
in McDonough, to the late Homer Gray and Mary Lou Morrow Brannan, Sr. Mr. Brannan was a member of Flippen United Methodist Church and a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. He taught graphic arts at Henry County High and was the owner /operator of Gray Fox/First Class Printing.
Mr. Brannan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Bufford Brannan, children, Gray (Laurie) Brannan, III, Stockbridge, Nancy (Eddie) Joiner, McDonough, and Todd Brannan, McDonough; grandchildren, Matthew Gray Brannan, Charlie Turner and Ginny Joiner; great grandchildren, Amelia Brannan and Andrew Gray Brannan, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 6 at Flippen United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tim Emmett officiating. Interment at Flippen Cemetery. George Herman Parker
George Herman Parker, age 84, of McDonough, Georgia, died October 4, 2009. He was born
in Daphne, Alabama, to the late Herman George and Mary Commetti Parker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William H. Parker.
Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Linda (Rick) Anderson; sons, Robert L. (Brenda) Parker, Fayetteville, Roger Nix, Danville, Alabama, and Ronald H. Parker, Rome; six grandchildren; and siblings, Hermina Surritt and Harold R. Parker, both of Daphne, Alabama.

Hoyt Randall Lane
Hoyt Randall Lane, age 74, of Stockbridge, Georgia, died Sunday, October 4, 2009. He was born
in Cedartown to the late Stephen Harrison, Sr. and Edna Cauthen Lane. Mr. Lane served his country in the United States Army as a medic. He was a member of Morrow First Baptist Church from 1970-1989 and then joined Salem Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He retired from Delta Airlines after 27 years as a carpenter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his nine brothers and sisters.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jim Lane, Stockbridge; daughters, Mr. Mike and Dr. Lori Lane Walker, McDonough, Dr. Steve and Mrs. Leslie Lane Tuck, Macon; grand-children, Julie Walker, John Michael Walker, Laney Tuck, and Harrison Tuck; and many be-loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on October 7 at Salem Baptist Church, with Mr. Roger Waters and Rev. Rick Statham officiating. Interment at Camp Memorial Park.
