E.C. "Dave" Hall
Mr. E.C. "Dave" Hall, 61, of Midville died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Emanuel Medical Center.
Mr. Hall, a native of Emanuel County, was employed by the Emanuel County Commissioners and worked with the road department.
A graveside service was held Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Wadley City cemetery with the Rev. Craig Tillman officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Hall; two brothers, Cliff Hall and Larry Hall, both of Wadley; two sisters, Annie Ruth Derriso and Linda Logue, both of Wadley; and several nieces and nephews.

Doretha Holley Hood
Mrs. Doretha Holley Hood, 85, of Wrens died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Keysville Nursing Home.
Mrs. Hood was a homemaker. She worked as a seamstress, a sales clerk for Anderson's Department Store and also as a server at Peggy's Restaurant. She was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband R.C. Hood and a son, Richard Hood.
The funeral was Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. at James Funeral Home with the Revs. Paul Moore and Roy White officiating. Burial was in Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Lester Hadden, Wrens; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Hall, Montezuma; three sisters, Barbara Crutfield, Eva Hobbs and Mildred Cowart, all of Thomson; three brothers, Weldon (Chuck) Holley, Wrens, William (Jessie) Holley, Baxley, and Henry (Boot) Holley, Augusta; four grandchildren, Melanie Hadden, Twila Hadden, Raymond Hood and Cham Hood; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clarence Holley, Randy Crutfield, Gary Holley, Allen Holley, Joe May and Tony Wheeler.

Carl Davis "Dick" Rabun
Mr. Carl Davis "Dick" Rabun, 76, of Augusta died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at University Hospital.
Mr. Rabun, a native of Warren County, had resided in Augusta since 1948. He retired in May of 1991 after over 30 years with H.W. Duffie Construction Company. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union No. 283 and Cliffwood Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the Brunner Sunday School Class. He was a former member of Green Meadows Country Club.
The funeral was Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. at Cliffwood Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Charlie Rector officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife Katie Rabun; his daughter, Carla (Larry) Rabun Wooten, Grovetown; a son, Clark (Becky) Davis Rabun, Martinez; two sisters, Ruth Clements, Charlotte, NC, and Ruby Raley, Mitchell; four grandchildren, Keri Beth Wooten, Clayton Davis Rabun and Savannah Elizabeth Rabun; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Phil Raley, Bill Raley, Mitch Raley, Justin Raley, Bobby Spivey, Perritt Rabun and Phillip Raley.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Brunner Sunday School Class.

James S. Weeks
Mr. James S. Weeks, 73, of East Ellijay died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002.
Mr. Weeks was born in Gilmer County to the late Cliff and Ida Smith Weeks. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was employed by the city of East Ellijay as building inspector and a veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force.
The funeral was Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Holt and Dr. Milton Perry officiating. Music was by The Glory Singers and Scott Eaton. Burial was in the Yukon Cemetery.
Survivors include Mary Jane Reece Weeks; a daughter, Marissa (Rick) Chambers, Ringgold; and a sister Aline Sellers, Wrens.
Pallbearers were members of the East Ellijay Police Department and Mack Wood.
Honorary pallbearers were the Jack Penland Sunday School Class, Ted Whitner, Carroll Page, Mack West, Harold Simmons, Doug Griffin, Avary Dimmock and Joseph Ray.

Derrick Le Vann Wallace
Mr. Derrick Le Vann Wallace of Augusta died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002.
Mr. Wallace was the minister of music and co-founder of Praise Deliverance Church in Wrens. He was preceded in death by his father Bishop Lee O'Daniel Wallace
The funeral will be Nov. 2 at noon at Living Word Christian Center.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Daniels Wallace; two daughters, Tiffany Daniels-Wallace and Aaliyah Winns-Wallace; his mother, Pastor Christine Abraham Wallace; two sisters, Evangelist Lithia Wallace and LaVeda Wallace Foy; two brothers, Lee Wallace Jr. and Stanley Wallace; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Irene Abraham; mother-in-law, Reba Daniels; godson, Joseph Wallace; uncle, Richard Wallace of Mighty Clouds of Joy; and a host of other aunts, uncles and cousins .

Minnie Johnson
Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Langley, SC, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Louisville to the late Mac and Willie Mae Jones McNeeley. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband George Dewey Johnson Sr. and a son Augustus "Doc" Johnson.
The funeral was Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. in Southside Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Scott and Earl Satcher officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Joe Rogers, Langley; three sons, George Dewey Johnson Jr., Trenton, Eugene Talmadge Johnson, Bath, and Van Leveren Johnson, Trenton; a brother, Henry McNeely of Fla.; and 103 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Minnie Lee Lowery Cunningham
Mrs. Minnie Lee Lowery Cunningham of Philadelphia, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002 at Elkins Park Hospital.
Mrs. Cunningham, a native of Louisville, was a member of St. Benedict Parrish. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lowery and Emmaline Lowery and her stepmother, Cora Lowery.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Cunningham; two daughters, Linda Onlye and Evon Bennett; two sisters, Doretha Norman and Ernestine Walker, both of Louisville; two brothers, Raymond Lowery, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Willie Paul Lowery, Louisville; and seven grandchildren.
Albert Hamm
Mr. Albert Hamm, 83, of Augusta died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Hamm, a native of Little Falls, Minn., had made the Augusta area his home for the last 54 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He retired in 1979 after 34 years of service with the CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Seniors Golf Group, The Augusta Municipal Golf Course and the Transportation, Communication Union, and AFL-CIO.
Graveside services were held Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Neal Breiland officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Peebles Hamm; one son, Harry D. Hamm, Augusta; two daughters, Martha Hamm Hargrove, North Augusta, SC, and Carol Hamm Felder, Augusta; one sister, Freda Sager, Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. I.C. Hudson, 81, of Wrens died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Gibson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Hudson, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Thompson Springhill A.M.E. Church and Ways Grove Moral Aid Society.
The funeral was Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. at Thomson Springhill A.M.E. Church in Matthews with the Rev. Charlie Myrick officiating. Burial was in Sugar Hill Cemetery, Wrens.

Mrs. Daisy Meadows Jenkins, 86, of Wadley died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Glendale Nursing Home.
Mrs. Jenkins, a native of Jefferson County, was a retired nurse and a member of the Wadley Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. at Wadley cemetery with Dr. Ernest Purcell and the Rev. Gary Simmers officiating.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Janice M. and George Ratchford Sr. of Wadley; a sister, Grace S. Mays, Augusta; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Hugh Dorsey Price
Mr. Hugh Dorsey Price, 84, of Wadley died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Jefferson Hospital.
Mr. Price, formerly of Louisville, was born in Johnson County and had lived in Wadley for the past two years. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Nails Creek Baptist
Church. The funeral was Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. at Nails Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Lumpkin, Randy Walden and Jim Rawls officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Belle W. Price, Louisville; a daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Tommy Brantley, Kite; a brother, Buford Price, Wrightsville; two sisters, Sarah Alexander, Pembroke, and Ola Hatchett, Sandersville; four grandsons, Robbie Purvis, Guyton, Jamie Heironymus, Savannah, Alan Brantley and Michael Brantley, both of Wrightsville; and three great-grandchildren.

Winfred F. "Winnie" Sullivan
Mr. Winfred F. "Winnie" Sullivan of Brunswick died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002.
Mr. Sullivan, a native of Glynn County, was the son of the late Fred Filmore Sullivan and the late Katie Sullivan-McDew. He was a member of the First African Baptist Church where he served as Secretary for the Trustee Board, Church Treasurer and Chairman of the Program Committee. He spent 24 years with Allstate Insurance Company as a Senior Claims Analyst. Prior to working for Allstate, he worked for Hercules Inc. and contributed years of service to the family business, Sullivan's Fish Camp. He also served his country was a tour of duty with the U.S. Navy.
The funeral was Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. at First African Baptist Church, St. Simons Island, with the Rev. Leroy Williams officiating. Burial was in Village Cemetery, St. Simons Island.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sullivan, Brunswick; a son, Courtney M. Sullivan, Alpharetta; a daughter, Deidra S. Sullivan, Statesboro; three sisters, Carolyn (David) Whitfield, Brunswick, Bernice (James) Myers, Savannah, and Joann (Terry) Sullivan, Brooklyn,
NY; one brother, Emory (Odessa) Rooks, St. Simons Island; a mother-in-law,
Ethel Neal, Louisville; three sisters-in-law, Kathleen Braddy, Louisville, Katherine Strickland, Boston, Mass., and Linda Brown, Louisville; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Roy Whipple, Billy Braddy, Ryan Whitfield, Carl Willis, Oscar Harris and Kerry Harden.

Mary E. Whitehead
Mrs. Mary E. Whitehead, 84, of Wadley died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Whitehead, a native of Washington County, had lived in Wadley since 1945. She was retired from Oxford Shirt Factory in Wadley and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Wadley.
The funeral was Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in the Eskew Family cemetery in Wadley.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William R. and June Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Myrtle and J.E. Dukes of Eatonton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Luke Johnson, Ken Werho, Mike Vitry, Shane Perry, Tony Perry and Greg Gaston.
