Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clent Boling officiating. Interment will follow in Greeley cemetery.

Survivors include his father, Homer Ingram of Canton; brothers, Johnny Ingram, Jackie Ingram, Tony Ingram and David Ingram all of Canton; sisters, Elaine Cox of Calhoun and Rhonda Hubbard of White; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Dorothy McFarland

Mrs. Dorothy D. McFarland, age 92, of Canton, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at her residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 from the McHelen Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Mize and Chaplain Tom Waggoner officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Park.

Mrs. McFarland worked in the Canton Textile Mills and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son, Herbert O. McFarland, Jr. of Canton; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Nancy R. Reece

Mrs. Nancy R. Reece, age 92, of Waleska, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Wild Wood Nursing Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006 from Arbor Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Roper, Rev. Steve Jones and Rev. Vernie Worley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Reece was a seamstress and member of Arbor Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Nancy Ledbetter of Waleska; brothers, Ellis Haygood of Canton, Cecil Haygood of Marietta and Carol Haygood of Zebulon; sister, Leoma Sims of Holly Springs; 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild also survives.

Angelo Daniel Ponton

Mr. Angelo D. Ponton, age 70, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Piedmont Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan, Rev. Billy Ray Queen and Rev. Fulton Arrington officiating.

Mr. Ponton served in the U.S. Army and was a retired sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Worker’s Union #85, the Fannin Co. Civilan Club and an All American.

Survivors include his wife, Anneliese W. Ponton of Canton; son, Marcus D. Ponton of Jasper; daughters, Monika Ponton-Arrington of Jasper, Angela P. Dills of Blue Ridge, Helga P. Queen of Canton and Michele Ponton-Parrish of Ball Ground; brother, Carlos Ponton of Florida; sisters, Martha Anglerau of Arizona, Evelyn Abernathy of Blue Ridge, Mary Ponton of Miami and Elizabeth Simpson of Ellijay; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Lois C. Moore, age 94, of Canton, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2006 at her residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2006 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park. The family is receiving friends after 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moore was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Rosen Bloom’s and a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Peggy Moore of Canton and Jack and Gail Moore of Canton; grandchildren, Jennie and David Hudgins of Roswell, Suzanne and Joel Payne of Canton, Lynn and Jeff Fowler of Canton and Church and Mandy Moore of Ball Ground; brother and sister-in-law, Jake and Nell Chadwick of Cartersville; 8 great-grandchildren also survive.

Ms. Amanda Gail Houston, age 40, of Ball Ground, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 from the Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Timmy Cable, Rev. Stanley Pruitt, Rev. Richie Gibbs and Rev. Michael Poulson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday at the funeral home.

Ms. Houston was a member of the Carmel Baptist Church and involved with the Carmel Baptist Church youth group. She was a receptionist for Reeves Floral Products.

Survivors include her son, Christian Houston of Ball Ground; daughter, Victoria Houston of Ball Ground; mother, Mary Houston of Ball Ground; sisters, Annette Williams of Woodstock, Donna Cable of Calhoun and Nancy Huff of Marietta; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Ricky Lee Cloud
Free Home resident
Mr. Ricky Lee Cloud, age 44, of Free Home, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Northside-Forsyth Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gerral Richards officiating. Interment will follow in the Refuge Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Cloud was employed in Sales in the poultry industry and a member of Ophir Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Marie Cloud of Free Home; sons, Tyler Cloud of Free Home and Evan Cloud of Forney, TX.; daughter, Anni Cloud of Free Home; stepsons, Christopher Mclarty and Jason Mclarty both of Free Home; mother, Doris Ann Cloud of Free Home; father and stepmother, Buddy and Donna Cloud of Free Home; sister, Donna Cox of Free Home; grandmother, Doris Thomason of Canton; mother-in-law, Arlene Gagliano of Free Home; brother-in-law, Steven Gagliano of Canton; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Gagliano and Rachel Gagliano both of Canton.

The family is receiving friends after 4 p.m. Friday and until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dianna Wise, age 46, of Canton passed away on Friday August 10, 2006 at the Vista Care Hospice Center.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2006 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel.

Survivors include her husband, John D. Wise of Canton; son; Jason Kearns of Cartersville; daughter, Leah Tabor of Macon; mother and father, James and Marsha Duffie of Ohio; brother, Jimmy Duffie of Ohio; sisters, Jody Heilman of Ohio and Penny Sullivan of Ohio; 1-Grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Catherine Jennings, age 91, of Canton, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2006 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2006 at Green Lawn cemetery in Roswell with Rev. Nathan Brandon officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Sosebee Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jennings was a homemaker. She was Methodist.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Helen Jennings of Canton; sister, Virginia Prince of Franklin, IN.; grandchildren, John B. and Paige Jennings of Marietta and Michael Ray and Veronica Jennings of Cranford, NJ.; great grandchildren, Ben Jennings and Molly Jennings.

Mr. Larry W. Fowler, age 57, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at his residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2007 from the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Ball, Rev. Robert Allen, Rev. Jerry Moody, Rev. Danny Collis and Rev. Eric Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

Mr. Fowler was the owner and operator of Country Carpets.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Ghorley Fowler of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Jamie Fowler of Canton; grandchildren, Caleb and Emily Fowler of Canton; brothers, Eddie Fowler of Canton, Gary Fowler of Atlanta and Gene Fowler of Waleska; sisters, Joan Hillhouse of Canton; Cheryl Gunther of Woodstock; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Eddie Lee Thomas, age 56, of Marietta, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2007 at Kennestone Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 from the St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Rev. Lemora Dobbs, Rev. Len Blanchard and Rev. Ashford Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the Cherokee Memorial Park. Mr. Thomas will lie-in-state at the church on Monday from 12 until 1 p.m. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Saturday and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Thomas was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, the local UAW Chapter 10 G M Union and Masonic lodge # 614 Pride of Canton.

Survivors include his wife, Renae Turner Thomas of Marietta; sons, Rocky Thomas and Terrell Thomas both of Marietta; daughters, Ginny Thomas of Marietta, Shunna Kellogg of Marietta and Nicole Green of Canton; brothers, Walter Thomas of Woodstock, Joseph Thomas of Wisconsin, James Thomas of Canton, Mark Thomas of Powder Springs, John Thomas of Canton and Robert Thomas of Canton; sisters, Betty Jean Thomas and Beverly Pettway both of Canton; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 from the New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Daniels, Rev. Amos Pruitt and Rev. Craig Richards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends all day Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bates was a homemaker and member of New Home Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd and Jeanette Bates of Dawsonville, Gene Bates of Cumming, Thomas and Sherry Bates of Jasper and Kerry Bates of Cumming; daughters, Barbara Thompson, Betty Ann Summers and Angela Carpenter all of Cumming; sisters, Virginia Martin of Alpharetta, Louise Hall of Smyrna, Nora Garrison of Loganville, Martha Jackson of Buford and Ethel Gravitt of Smyrna; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jefferson Hollingsworth, age 78, of Canton, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2007 from the Ashland United Methodist Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi with Rev. Bill Kemp officiating.

Mr. Hollingsworth served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Blanch Hollingsworth of Canton; sons, Donald Hollingsworth of Byhalia, MS. and Terry Hollingsworth of Tennessee; daughter, Ann Patterson of Canton; brothers, Phillip Hollingsworth of Charleston, MS. and Dee Hollingsworth of Atlanta; 4 grandchildren also survive.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund in Honor of Jeff Hollingsworth at the Bank of Holly Springs, MS.

Mrs. Brinkley was a homemaker and member of Open Bible Tabernacle.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Brinkley, Eddie Brinkley and Thomas Brinkley all of Dallas; daughter, Dale Butterworth of Douglasville and Margie Brinkley of White; sister, Idell Henson of Marietta; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
