Tami was a homemaker and loved to cook but baking was her specialty. She loved her flowers and gardening. She loved to watch sunrises at the beach, especially at St. Simons and Amelia Island. HAMILTON - William Marshall Hamilton, Jr., 59, of Lawrenceville, GA, died June 28, 2006. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Hamilton, a native of Nashville, TN, was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. For his service during Vietnam, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Vietnam Service Medal. He worked in Real Estate, was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Lawrenceville, served on the Gwinnett County Board of Equalization, and was an avid photographer and outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hamilton of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter, Katherine Hamilton of Savannah, GA; son, Steven Kevin Shoemaker of St. Louis, MO; parents, Dr. W.M. Hamilton and Ruth Sharpe Hamilton of Nashville, TN; two brothers, Karl S. Hamilton and Michael Dee Hamilton, both of Nashville, TN; and a granddaughter, Nicole Shoemaker of St. Louis, MO. Ward Allen “Screwdriver” Kerns
KERNS - Ward Allen “Screwdriver” Kerns, 86, of Norcross, GA, died peacefully in his sleep July 16, 2006, at Plantation South Assisted Living, where he lived for the past two years. He was born August 22, 1919 in Bath Co., KY. Ward served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. After being discharged from the Navy, he worked at Greyhound Bus Lines as a mechanic for 47 years. Predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth, of 54 years, he is survived by two daughters, Cindy K. Hearn of Peachtree Corners, GA, and Barbara Kerns of Atlanta, GA; two granddaughters, Allyson & Lindsay Hearn of Peachtree Corners, GA; and a sister, Nancy Bowlin of Lexington, KY.
