She is survived by her husband, Howard Walden; daughter, Lauren Haghighat;son, Ryan Skelton, nieces, Rebecca Skelton, Chelsea Skelton; brothers, Nicky Skelton, and Chris Skelton. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Community church. Interment followed at Walden Family Cemetery.

Mark Patrick Norris, age 67, of Monroe, died on January 8, 2015. He was born in Villa Rica, GA on June 15, 1947. He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Elsie Mae Garmon. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Norris of Monroe; daughters, Shannon Norris of Birmingham, AL, Kasey Haire of Monroe; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Brandy Norris of Birmingham, AL, Matthew and Maranda Norris of Lexington, SC, David Pace, Jr. of Rutledge, Daniel Pace of Rutledge; father, Dorsey Garmon of Hiram; sister, Pam Crowe of Hiram; brothers, Jimmy Garmon of Dallas, Roger Garmon of Hiram; grandchildren, Dylan Norris, David Norris, and Haley Norris. A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. David Pace, Sr. officiating. Interment was at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Robert "Bob" Stewart, age 74, of Loganville, died on January 5, 2015. He was born in Verden, Oklahoma on December 28, 1940. He is survived by his wife, Polly Stewart of Loganville. Betty Jean Ashe, age 83, of Monroe, died on January 8, 2015. She was born in Walton County on February 25, 1931 to the late Minnie Dalton Malcom and the late John Luther Malcom. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Eugene Ashe. Surviving are: daughters and sons in law, Judy and Bob Blackwell of Woodstock, Joy and Bruce Chick of Monroe; grandchildren, Robert Blackwell, Matthew Chick, and Michael Chick. Paul Vollmer, Sr.
Paul Vollmer, Sr., age 93, of Monroe, died on January 3, 2015. He was born in Staten Island, NY on April 29, 1921 to the late Freda Granzo Vollmer and the late William Vollmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Edith Vollmer. Paul served on the USS Massachusetts during WWII and was a devoted employee of Seaboard World Airlines for 25 years. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Navi Vollmer Jr., Calvin and Kathy Vollmer, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery. Jane Garrett
Jane Garrett of Monroe, GA, passed away January 1, 2015. She was born July 21, 1932 to William Irwin and Martha Louise Barrett in Jersey, GA. She is predeceased by her husband Willie R (Bill) Garrett, Jr, and daughter Jan Garrett Moody. She is survived by daughters Sally Garrett Boudinot (Doug) of Richmond, VA, and Martha Jo Garrett of Pocatello, ID, as well as a sister Sara Nell Barrett Cown of Between. She also leaves two grandsons, three granddaughters and six great grandchildren. Jane was an educator in the Walton County School system for 25 years, serving as school counselor in several schools. As such, she served countless children in need in the area. A memorial service was held Saturday, January 3 at 11 am at the First United Methodist Church in Monroe, followed by lunch and visitation in the Fellowship Hall. Alma Adell "Mama Dell" Blackmon, age 90, of Monroe, died on January 1, 2015. She was born in Walton County on September 2, 1924 to the late Annie Mae Phillips Bradshaw and the late Charlie Bradshaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Jake Blackmon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wolf, and by her son, the late Randy Wolf.
