He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Barbara Jean Bradford Peters, and his son, the late Jim D. Peters. Surviving are: Daughters, Mary Ann Link of Social Circle, Cathy P. Craig of Social Circle; Sons, Bobby J. Peters of Social Circle, Donnie E. Peters of Watkinsville, Tim M. Peters of Social Circle, Robert J. Roy D. Ruark, age 79 of Bishop, died on July 18, 2011. He was born in Bostwick on March 31, 1932, to the late Rupert Ruark and the late Evie Mae Kinney Ruark. He was preceded in death by his son, the late Ray McGinty. Edna Susie Jones Allen, age 91 of Hoschton, formerly of Monroe, went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2012. She was born on October 17, 1920 to the late Benjamin Franklin Jones and the late Susanne Palmer Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Robert Allen, her daughter, the late Bonny Jean Desantis, her grandson, the late Anthony Dismuke, her brother, the late Troy C. Jones, her sister, the late Ethel Jones Moss and the late Cleo I. Jones Moss. Surviving are: Son and Daughter in Law: David B and Earline Rice of Maiden, NC; Son in Law: Orville Roberts of Monroe; Grandchildren: Courtney Riddle of Hoschton, Benny Rice of Lincolnton, NC, Jessica Roberts of Monroe, Kelly Rice of Maiden, NC and Angela Roberts of Loganville; 5 Great Grandchildren. Sandra Carter, age 65 of Dewy Rose, passed away on December 29, 2011. She was born in Jacksonville, Alabama on December 23, 1946 to Ruth Ficklin Grindle and the late Hugh Dorsey Grindle. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Darlene Carter. Jack Fowler
Jack Fowler, age 93 of Monroe, entered his Heavenly Home and met Jesus on June 1, 2012. He was born on January 2, 191 9 in Douglas County to the late William Harrison Fowler and the late Mary Virgie Owens Fowler. He was one of eight children, and was the last of his generation. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Stella Mae Howard Fowler. They were married
on July 21, 1941, and raised 3 children in their Christian home. Surviving are: Daughter and Son in Law: Reta and William W. McDaniel, Jr. of Monroe; Sons and Daughters in Law: Jacky and Donna Fowler of Lawrenceville, Harrison Lee and Debbie Fowler of Bowling Green, KY; 9 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 2 more Great Grandchildren on the way; and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services will be held on June 5th at 11:00 A.M. at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. David Poe officiating. Interment will follow at North Atlanta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Billy and Chuck McDaniel, Jason, Jon, Brandon, Dustin and Aaron Fowler.

Lavertis Miller Powers, age 92 of Monroe, died on June 2, 2012. She was born in Winder on April 5, 1920 to the late Ernest V. Miller and the late Annie Cole Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late James Powers. White; and his son, the late Weyman White. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, the late Nina May Hensler, the late Edna Howard, the late Katherine McCoy, the late Charles Hensler, and the late James Carter Hensler. Eva Oneida Stanley Peters, age 86, of Monroe, died on May 27, 2012. She was born in Atlanta on February 12, 1926 to the late Florence Lyon Stowers and the late Lonnie Stanley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lewis Peters, and her daughter, Helen Bartels. Surviving are: daughters, Vivian Tucker of Monroe, Carolyn Golden of Dacula; son, Edward Peters of Social Circle; and 16 Grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 31st at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rob Rienstra officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Gloria Jean Angel, age 76, of Bishop, died on May, 22, 2012. She was born in Jasper, GA on October 7, 1935 to the late Julie Young Stone and the late Lee Onice Stone. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clifford Angel; her daughter, the late Dorothy Mae Angel; her son, the late James Angel ; her sister, the late Lillien Stone; her brothers, the late G.C. Stone, and the late N.A. Stone. Polly C. Gordon
1915-2005
Atlanta - Polly C. Gordon, 89, of Atlanta, died on Thursday April 14, 2005.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Gordon was the daughter of the late Stoy and Margie Lee Culbertson Chandler. She was a retired Civil Service employee.
Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Gordon, formerly of Watkinsville; sons, Hugh Gordon of Acworth and Russell Gordon of Woodstock; brother, Stoy H. Chandler, Jr. of Commerce; grandchildren, Jonathan Gordon, Sarah Gordon and Rebecca Gordon.
Memorial Services will be held 1 pm Sunday, April 17 in the Chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Fouche officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association 1353 Jennings Mill Road, Ste A Bogart, GA 30622.

Ralph Cardell
Ralph W. Cardell, 87, of Social Circle, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2012. He was born February 17, 1925, in Woodville, Georgia, to the late George W. Cardell, Sr. and Lida Peters Cardell. Mr. Cardell loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian in his daily life. He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Social Circle for over 60 years. He served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, held various leadership positions, and served on numerous committees. A WWII veteran, he joined the Navy after graduating high school in 1943 and served in the Pacific Theater. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from truck driving at Lithonia Lighting in 1990 Mr. Cardell was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Barbara Kitchens, three brothers Julius, Eugene, and G. W. Cardell, Jr, . and sister, Elizabeth Bishop. Survivors include his wife of 69 years Pauline Wilbanks Cardell of Social Circle, daughters and sons-in-law Brenda and Bob Eidson of Shady Dale, Georgia, and Carol Ann and James Peek of Monticello, Georgia, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Everett ofLilbum, Georgia. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made in memory of Mr. Cardell to First Baptist Church of Social Circle, 195 N Cherokee Road, Social Circle, Georgia 30025 or The American Cancer Society.
