Mrs. Rosalyn “Tina” Heath Cooper, 55, of Louisville entered into rest on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at an Augusta Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Faith Memorial CME Church and Dixon Chapel CME Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was a life long resident of Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Isaiah Bostic and Estella Heath Saunders and the widow of the late Michael Cooper. She attended Jefferson County School System.
Survivors include three daughters, Tracy Heath of Waynesboro, Karen “Boo” Tolbert of Louisville, and Lashaonda “Nikki” Cooper of Augusta; stepmother, Kate Bostic of Tennille; godmother, Onea Grant of Louisville; seven sisters, Phyllis Long of Framingham, Mass., Trisha “Pat” Newsome of Waynesboro, Rosa (Leotis Jr.) Gilmore of Augusta, Sally “Mitzi” Heath, Brenda Sanders and Ocie Lee Sanders of Louisville, and Mary Bostic of Tennille; four brothers, Michael (LaTricia) Heath of Avera, Irish (Susan) Bostic of Milledgeville, Larry (Sonya) Bostic of Tennille, and Curtis Graddy of Wrightsville; goddaughter, LaTasha “Princess” “Baby Doll” Burton of Louisville; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Maureen Upton Crutchfield
Mrs. Maureen Upton Crutchfield, 70, of Gibson entered into rest on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Crutchfield was a native of Glascock County, a retired seamstress and a member of the Gibson Church of God.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Richard Kitchens officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, Avera.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Braddock Upton; and a brother, William Upton.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Johnny Crutchfield; one son, William Joseph (Diane) Chalker of Thomson; one stepson, Johnny (Bobbie) Crutchfield Jr. of Gibson; one stepdaughter, Kathy (Tommy) Johnson of Gibson; one sister, Jeanette Glover of North Augusta, S.C.; five grandchildren, Shane Chalker, Keven Chalker, Katelyn Crutchfield, Taylor Johnson and Tyler Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Justin Chalker, Ansley Chalker and Landen Chalker.
Pallbearers were Shane Chalker, Keven Chalker, Danny Upton, Byron Crutchfield, Mike Glover and Charles Hall.

Mrs. Jose’ Marie Cunningham
Mrs. Jose’ Marie Cunningham, 84, of Southport, N.C., formerly of Louisville, entered into rest on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009, in the family plot of Louisville City Cemetery, with Rev. David Hibberts officiating.
Mrs. Cunningham was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Gentinnes, Belgium, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Camille Purnelle. She was active in the Belgium underground during World War II. At the end of World War II she married
Technical Sergeant Ben W. Cunningham Jr. and moved to Louisville where she was a homemaker and a member of Louisville First Methodist Church.
Survivors include four children, Virginia C. Woodward (Roy) of Lansdale, Pa., Peggy Ann Harrisson (Frank) of Southport, N.C., William W. Cunningham (William) Lawson of Oakland, Calif., and Joseph George Cunningham of Southport, N.C.; two grandchildren, Holly Ray of Port Huron, Mich., and Kelly Ann Hall (Chris) of Burgaw, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Ben and Kayla Ray, and Anna and Jacob Hall.
The Cunningham family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Willena M. Evans
Mrs. Willena M. Evans, 80, of Louisville entered into rest on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, in Jefferson Hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Evans grew up in Bartow and spent the last 52 years in Louisville. She was a daughter of the late Charles Clark and Louise Smith Malone. She taught school for many years at Louisville Academy and Bartow School. She was a member of Louisville United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of The Art Guild of Jefferson County, the United Methodist Women and Louisville Coffee Club. She was also a known local artist.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, in Louisville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Beau Taylor and Rev. David Hibberts officiating. Burial followed in the family plot in the Bartow City Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Donald H. Evans Sr.
Survivors include a son, Don Evans (Debra) of Louisville; daughter, Louise Young (Frank) of Sandersville; two sisters, Suzanne M. Jones of Louisville and Diane M. Anderson of Marietta; four grandchildren, Donnie Evans, Caroline McDaniel, Molly Young and Ryan Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Dylan Evans, Anna Evans and Evans McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Donnie Evans, Clay McDaniel, Bonner Jones, Johnny Jones, Charlie Anderson, Gary Anderson, Matt Poje and Fred Waters.
Honorary Pallbearers were the members of the Louisville United Methodist Church Choir.

Mrs. Norma Jean Hart, 54, of Louisville entered into rest Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Trinity Hospital.
Mrs. Hart was a member of Brideage Tabernacle Church, and she was a homemaker. She was the wife of Alton N. Hart and the daughter of Max J. Moulton and Christine B. Moulton.
Memorial services were held on Monday Feb. 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Brideage Tabernacle in Lincolnton, with Rev. Michael Newman officiating.
Survivors include her children, Tyrone Lowery, Jonathan Lowery and Martha Lowery; a sister, Cindy Moulton; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Jo Cofer McNair
Mrs. Jo Cofer McNair, 66, of Wrens entered into rest on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, following a bout with cancer at University Hospital in Augusta.
Mrs. McNair was born to Brantley Cofer and Rhetta Hardy Cofer in Washington. She was a nurse and a member of Wrens Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Wrens Baptist Church, with Rev. Mason Davis and Rev. Stan Littleton, Dr. Julian West and Dr. Christopher Church officiating.
She was preceded by both parents; and one sister, Ann Taylor.
Survivors include her children, Jay McNair and Julie Hardie; siblings, Wendy Cofer, Agnes Church, Martha Stokley, Jimmie Cofer and Tricia Matthews; grandchildren, Erin, Cal, Mason, Rachel, Maggie, Brooks and Copeland; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mary Frances Henderson Purvis, 68, of Thomson entered into rest on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Purvis was born in Jefferson County, and was the daughter of the late John Taylor Henderson and the late Estelle McNeely Henderson. She was a homemaker and a member of Louisville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dewey Henderson officiating. Interment followed in the Reedy Creek Baptist Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Purvis.

Mrs. Virginia “Snap” Kelly Stone, 82, of Bronx, N.Y. formerly of Wrens, entered into rest on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Ortez Funeral Home, Bronx, NY.
Survivors include a sister, Helen (Dwellie) Benefield, Austell; a niece, Mamie Collins, Bronx, N.Y.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ms. Sherlyn Lynette Wallace
Ms. Sherlyn Lynette Wallace, 30, of in Plainfield, N.J. entered into rest on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008.
She was born in Atlanta, but lived in Wadley for several years.
Her wish was to be cremated.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernestine Wallace; grandmother, Annie Wallace; and grandfather, Clarence Wallace.
Survivors include her father, Nathaniel Leonard of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and her brother, Stephen Wallace of Atlanta.

Mrs. Daisy “Miss Daisy” Elizabeth Blanchard Watson
Mrs. Daisy “Miss Daisy” Elizabeth Blanchard Watson, 98, entered into rest on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in Gainesville at The Resting Nest.
Mrs. Watson was an educator and musician. She was formerly of Stellaville and Wrens before moving to Gainesville in 1944. She was born Oct. 18, 1910, in Appling, the fifth of 11 children.
Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church of Gainesville on Nov. 10, 2008, with Rev. Dr. Terry Walton officiating. Burial was in Alta Vista Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coach A. Drane Watson Jr.; and daughter, Elizabeth Anne Watson.
Survivors include her son, Alva Drane “A.D.” (Vicki) of Gainesville; her daughter, DaAnne Blanchard Watson of Gainesville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; other relatives, James Pierce Blanchard, Vernon Nathan Blanchard and Doris Blanchard O’Hearn, all of Augusta.

Mr. Marion Foreman Brinkley Sr.
Mr. Marion Foreman Brinkley Sr., 85, of Jackson, S.C., entered into rest Friday, Feb. 27, 2009.
Mr. Brinkley was a native of Ellenton, S.C., having made Jackson his home for the past 57 years. He was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, a Deacon and former Chairman of Deacons and Sunday school teacher and a member of the Baracca II Sunday School Class. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a founding member and past commander of the Ellenton American Legion Post #97, a member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #107 AFM and the York Rite Masonic Bodies. Mr. Brinkley was the retired owner of Brinkley’s Red and White Grocery.
Funeral services were on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Jackson, Dr. Ken Klingler officiating. Interment was in Jackson Memorial cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy Franklin Brinkley; a son, Marion (Susan) Brinkley Jr., Jackson; three daughters, Cheryl (Edouard) Servy, Augusta, Ida Sue (Allen) Hardy, Jackson, and Lisa (Tim) Lumpkin, Louisville; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Servy, Glynn Servy, Claire Servy, Alexis Servy, Tracy Carrier, David Hardy, Brian Lumpkin, Rachel Lumpkin, Jessica Johnson and Adam Brinkley; four great-grandchildren, Alexander Gajic, Sheridan Carrier, Ethan Hardy and Landon Johnson.
