Mrs. Barbara Ellen Reeves Phillips, 45, of Wrens entered into rest Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Phillips was a Baptist. She was a sewing machine mechanic at Stapleton Garment. She is the daughter of Randall Reeves and Mamie Hayes Reeves.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Harlem Memorial Cemetery, with Dr. Emmitt Carroll officiating.
Survivors include her children, Jenny Phillips and Nash Hidgon; a brother, Randy Reeves; a sister, Tonya Sorrells; and a stepbrother, Wayne Findley; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilhemina Bussell Wylds
Mrs. Wilhemina Bussell-Wylds, 80, of Appling entered into rest on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Wylds was a native of Soperton, and had lived in the Augusta area most of her life. She retired from Columbia County Sheriff’s Department. Mrs. Wylds was a member of Dunn’s Chapel of Leah.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son, with Rev. Henry B. Shaffer Sr. and Rev. Marion Jay officiating. Interment followed at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wylds was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lewis H. Wylds; parents, Safrona and Alonza Bussell; eight sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include daughters, Kathy (Sonny) Batchelor of Augusta, Cheryl (Paul) Beckworth of Stapleton, Becky (Kinney) Harman of Hephzibah, Connie Wylds of North Augusta, S.C., and Fran (Rev. Henry Sr.) Shaffer of Graniteville, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby Crawley Jr., Henry Shaffer Jr., Tony D. Taylor Jr., Joshua Batchelor, Justin Benson, Travis Barefield and Hunter Crawley.
Honorary pallbearers were Rhett Crawley, Emanuele Batchelor, Noah Cowart, Jackson Prather, Brandon Tobias, Garrett Delaughter, John Bannister, Jesse Dean Swearingen, Maxwell Shaffer and Jack Shaffer.

Dr. Henry G. Bryant Jr.
Dr. Henry G. Bryant Jr., 71, of Evans entered into rest on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Doctors Hospital.
Dr. Bryant was a native of Louisville. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Evans. He was a graduate of North Georgia College and Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Bryant was a member of the Georgia Podiatry Association for 35 years and past president, the National Podiatry Association, Georgia Cattleman Association, Columbia County Sheriffs Auxiliary, and one of the original founders of Westlake Country Club where he was a current member. He was also a past member of the Lions Club, Quadragentia Club, Ambucks Club, and the Augusta Shrine Club.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Evans, with Rev. Steve Spencer officiating. Burial followed in the First Baptist Church of Evans cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry G. and Susie Meadows Bryant.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Roselyn Glasgow Bryant; one daughter, Dr. Salita Susan Bryant of Manhattan, N.Y.; two sons, Dr. Henry Greene Bryant III (Lisa) of Martinez, and Harlin Glasgow Bryant (Melissa) of Augusta; one brother, John Tolliver Bryant of Evans; six grandchildren, William Glasgow Bryant, Alec Henry Bryant, Hampton Clay Bryant, Katherine Page Bryant, Jackson Glasgow Bryant and William Thomas (Beau) Bryant.

Mrs. Carrie Bell Paschal Jackson, 96, of Louisville entered into rest on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Heritage of Old Capital.
Mrs. Jackson was a native of Jefferson County, a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church and a retired homemaker at Dr. Revell’s residence. She was the daughter of F. Juck Paschal and Minnie Bell King Paschal.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home Chapel and Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger “Son” Jackson.

Mr. Eddie Elroy May Sr., 57, of Mitchell entered into rest Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at the Gibson Health and Rehab Center, Gibson.
Mr. May was a native of Washington County, but lived in Glascock County most of his life. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 34 years of service.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Mitchell Full Gospel Church, with Rev. Hugh Turnley and Rev. Jacky Downs officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Broadnax May of Mitchell; three sons, Eddie E. May Jr. of Gibson, James Michael May of Mitchell, and Phillip Brandon May of Mitchell; one brother, Joey May of Norwood; two sisters, Peggy Sammons of Gibson, and Nancy Bales of Augusta; seven grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Mrs. Parker was born in Louisville on Nov. 10, 1940, to Bessie (Ponder) Thomas of Bristol, Pa. and the late Frank Weems of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was active in the church, including Jones Groves Baptist Church, Louisville, Saint John’s Baptist Church, Savannah, The People’s Church Of Christ, Bristol, Pa., and Gospel Outreach Church of God in Christ, Grand Forks, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her sibling, Isaiah Davis; aunts and uncles, Johnny B. Habersham, Mary Darien, Johnny C. Owens, Roosevelt McCrea, Vivian Habersham and Robert Habersham; and her grandparents who raised her as their child, Mary “Ms. Honey” Habersham and Joseph Habersham.

Mrs. Shelton was retired as a seamstress at Stapleton Garment and she was a Baptist. She was a wife of 36 years to Cecil Shelton and the daughter of the late Hartwell Stewart and Ophelia Welch Stewart
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Marion Jay officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Ronnie Albea and Charles Albea.
Survivors include her children, Bennie (Catherine) Albea, Robert (Bobby) Albea, Wade (Carol) Albea, Jerry (Jeraldine) Albea, David (Stacy) Albea; and her stepchildren, Cecil (Pat) Shelton, Elaine (James) Atkins and Pete (Vicky) Shelton; two sisters, Lula Inez Stewart and JoAnne Pack; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Stallings was a native of Avera, having made Beech Island, S.C. her home for the past 60 years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Graveside services were conducted on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Avera, with Rev. Donald Lumpkin officiating.
Mrs. Stallings was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Calloway.
Survivors include two sons, George H. “Woody” (Denise) Stallings Jr. and Frank Stallings, all of Jackson; a sister, Nancy (Pat) Barney, Augusta; a brother-in-law, Russ Calloway, Avera; four grandchildren, Lee Stallings, April Stallings, Elisha Stallings and Hadden Stallings; one nephew and three nieces.

Mr. Thomas Lee Thompson, 54, of Thomson entered into rest on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in the Warrenton Health and Rehab Center.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Richmond County, but had lived in Thomson for most of his life. He was a retired electrician and carpenter. He was a member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Sweetwater Baptist Church, with Rev. Kenneth Garvin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, E.D. Thompson.
Survivors include his son, Christopher Lee Thompson, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; his mother, Ann Thompson, Thomson; and three brothers, Bruce Thompson and Rodney Thompson, both of Thomson, and Glynn Thompson, Gibson.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at noon at the Lofton AME Church Cemetery, Wrens, with the Rev. Michael G. Ephraim Sr., pastor, officiating. Friends and family are asked to gather at the graveside at 11:50 a.m.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dianna Wilson; and a great-grandson, Brandon Harris.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Shaneisha Hobbs of Omaha, Neb., and Shavondrea Harris of Augusta; two great-granddaughters, Krishayla Wilson-Hall (Christopher) and Logan Wilson, both of Augusta; three great-grandsons, Keelan Harris of Augusta, Bradley Foster of Omaha, Neb., and Bryant “B.J” Wilson Jr. of Augusta; one great-great grandson, Chase Hall of Augusta; and a host of other relatives and friends.
