Mr. Olen Pinkey Price Sr.
Mr. Olen Pinkney Price Sr., 95, entered into rest on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008.
Mr. Price was born on Feb. 24, 1913. He was the last surviving child of the late Emanuel Bridges Price Sr.’s and Fannie Bedingfield Price’s 14 children. He was a life-time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at Pringle, where he served as a deacon for 60 years. Mr. Price was a farmer. He served as a trustee of Harrison Public School in the 1950s.
Funeral services were held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008. Burial was in the cemetery at Pleasant Hill.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Martha Louise Newsome Price of Ahoskie, N.C.
Mr. Price is survived by his son, Olen Price Jr. (Shelba); daughter, Dorothy Price Reynolds (Schuyler); grandsons, Wesley Price (Tracey), and Neil Price (Wende); granddaughter, Luci David (Jemel); and four great-grandchildren, Dustin Price, Eliot Price, Hunter Price and J.P. Price.

Mr. Garnett Lamar Reynolds
Mr. Garnett Lamar Reynolds, 51, of Bartow entered into rest on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Jefferson Hospital.
Mr. Reynolds, born in Richmond County, had lived most of his life in Bartow. He was disabled and a member of the Bartow Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the Bartow City Cemetery, with Rev. Paul Harris officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Ann Reynolds; mother, Grace Reynolds; brother, Jerry Brown; sister, Diana Periman (Bill).

Baby Shalayla Kne`cole Thomas was born Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Burke County Hospital, Waynesboro.
Graveside services were held Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the Sandhill Cemetery, Vidette.
Survivors include her parents, Monica Cuyler and Elbert Thomas Sr. of Stapleton; her siblings, De`Asia Grant, LaVondrea Stevenson, Shelicia Thomas and Elbert Thomas Jr.; maternal grandmother, Sherry Rachel Jackson of Louisville; maternal great-grandparents, John and Dorothy Rachel of Louisville; aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bruce Lee Anderson Jr.
Bruce Lee Anderson Jr., 67, Wadley, died on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 29, at 3 p.m. in the Peebles Curry Memorial Chapel. Interment was in the Midville City cemetery in Midville.

Mr. Jimmie Brooks Sr.
Mr. Jimmie Brooks Sr., 71, of Beech Island, S.C., entered into rest on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007.
Mr. Brooks was born in Stapleton, to the late John Alvin and Nellie Elizabeth Norris Brooks. He was the retired owner and operator of Brooks Paint and Body for 20 years. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a Baptist.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D. L. “Sonny” Peevy officiating. Interment followed in Pineview Memorial Gardens, North Augusta, S.C.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Max, John Willie and Earl Brooks and two sisters, Dera Davis and Jean Laney.
Survivors include three sons, Richard “Ricky” Brooks (Danelle), James “Mike” Brooks, William “Shorty” Brooks (Theresa), all of Beech Island, S.C.; a brother, John Brooks (Margaret), Thomson; three sisters, Sara Morrison (Billy ), Lincolnton, Julia Connor (Ned), Dearing, and Wanda Stokes, Warrenville, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Brooks Smith (Al), Augusta; special friend, Julia Dudley, Warrenville, S.C.; four grandchildren: Jimmy Brooks, Springtown, Texas, Susan Adams, Aiken, S.C., David Wise, Beech Island, S.C. and Jennifer Wise, Beech Island, S.C.; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mr. Brooks’ nephews.

Johnny Bryant Jr., of Bartow, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, in Augusta.
His funeral was held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church in Bartow, with Rev. Stefon Young officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his two sons, Johnny (Beverly) Bryant III, Milledgeville, and Benjamin (Alice) Heggs, Albany; his sister, Amelia Robinson, Macon; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.

Mr. Tommie Lee "Kelo" Cuyler
Mr. Tommie Lee “Kelo” Cuyler, 58 of 137 Folsom Circle, Wrightsville departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at Laurens County Medical in Dublin.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. at the Brantley Chapel Holiness Church and Lovett Cemetery.
Mr. Cuyler was a native of Johnson County, employed at Belview and a member of the Brantley Chapel Holiness Church.
Survivors include a son, Joanthan Saffold of Miami, Fla.; brother, Joe (Julia Pearl) Cuyler and Dorothy Hicks of Wrightsville, J. W. (Johnnie Mae) Cuyler of Dublin, Shirley (Leroy) Simmon of Albemarle, N. C., Martha Howard of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a special friend, Bobbie Dean Bridges of Wrightsville; a host of nieces, nephews including one devoted, Sandy Linder of Wrightsville; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Harris J. Gordy
Mr. Harris J. Gordy, 79, of Louisville, entered into rest Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007.
He was the son of the late Alvin and Emma Gordy. Mr. Gordy was a member of Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Mr. Gordy was retired from DuPont at Savannah River Plant after 40 years of service as a power department supervisor; he was a member of 50 years in Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Master Mason; he also was in the U.S. Maritime Service where he served our county and fought in War World II.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, with his nephew Rev. Jerry Cofer officiating. Burial followed at Louisville City Cemetery.
Mr. Gordy was preceded in death by his son, Byron Gordy and his two brothers, Hoyt Gordy and Billy Gordy.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eugenia Cofer Gordy; a son, Patrick (Juanice) Gordy, Jackson, S.C.; three daughters, Carol (Warren) Driggers, Irmo, S.C., Elizabeth (Art) Bailie, Salem, Va., Dawn (Mike) Whitt, Belvedere, S.C.; and a brother, Frank Gordy Sr., Louisville; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Willie Mae “Dee” Habersham departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at a local facility.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Jones Grove Baptist Church and cemetery in Louisville with Rev. Jerry Dudley officiating.
Mrs. Habersham was a native of Jefferson County and a member of the Jones Grove Baptist Church where she was Mother of the Church, and served as secretary of the church for many years, Missionary Society, Senior Choir, secretary of the Lone Star Society.
Survivors include her children, Bettye Greene, Rosa Sapp of Paterson, N.J., Northern (Lenora) Habersham, Brooklyn, N.Y., Evelyn Vaughn of Louisville; son-in-law, Moses Lamar, two daughters-in-law, Bessie Habersham of Athens and Clara Mae Habersham of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Grandchildren, including one very devoted, Veronica Evans of Louisville; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ms. Alvina Bennett Johnson departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at Washington County Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Vickers Hills Baptist Church, Wrightsville with Rev. Dave Hall officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Ms. Johnson was a native of Washington County a member of the Vicker Hill Baptist Church but lived in Johnson County most of her life. She attended Dock Kemp School in Johnson County.
Survivors include her children, Jimmie Johnson of Wrightsville, and Denese Barnes of Tennille; sisters and brothers, Eloise Wiggins and Robert Bennett of Atlanta, Helen (Willie) Williams of Oconee, Thomas (Hattie) Bennett Jr. of Wrightsville, William Bennett of Sandersville, Larry Bennett of Temple, Texas; two grandchildren, Aunjae Johnson and Na’Kiria Johnson of Tennille; aunt, Shirley Hampton of Springfield, Ohio; uncle, Richard Riddle of Springfield, Ohio; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Clifford Aubry Kitchens, 77, of Mitchell, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Heartland Hospice in Augusta.
Mr. Kitchens, a native of Glascock County, had been a Warren County resident for many years. He was a retired logger and truck driver.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Key officiating. Burial followed in the Millcreek Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Peggy Haywood Kitchens.
Survivors include; three sons, Clifford (Cathy) Kitchens, Mitchell, Lewis (Vickie) Kitchens, Gibson, and Everett (Jan) Kitchens, Mitchell; three grandchildren, Robert Kitchens, Stacey K.
