Mr. LaMichael Jermaine Jackson
Mr. LaMichael Jermaine Jackson, 30, departed this life Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, at The Medical College of Georgia, Augusta.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Peel Grove Baptist Church, Vidette with, Rev. Nehemiah Dishman officiating.

Mr. Jackson was a 1996 graduate of Louisville High School, a member of the Second Phillip Grove Baptist Church, and served two years in the US Army.

Survivors include his parents, Wylene Jackson Danford and Step father David Allen Danford and Randolph Murphy, Jr. and stepmother, Janice Murphy all of Louisville; His adopted mother, Ella Mae Loyd of Louisville; his siblings, LaShelia D. Murphy-Johnson of Hephzibah, Neshun Y Jackson, Kristan F. Jackson, Twilla N. Jackson, Quindera S. Jackson, TaWorsky D. Jackson and Randy Murphy of Louisville, Shaquera M. Jackson of Tampa, FL, Randolph R. (Betty) Jackson, Sr. of Greenville, S. C., Antrone D. (Shawanda) Murphy of Thomson, Courney B. (LaToya) Jackson, Sr. of North Augusta, S. C.; His maternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Jackson of Louisville; step maternal grandmother, Rosie Lee Jackson of Jacksonville Beach, FL; twenty aunts and uncles; a host of nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives and friends.

Family maybe contacted at the residence, 1220 Sinquefield Street, Louisville or at Davis Funeral Home.

Davis Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brant L. Shelton
Mr. Brant L. Shelton, 76, of Augusta, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in the University Hospital.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Shelton, a native of Walton County, was a son of the late Lucious and Estelle Daniel Shelton. He was a United States Army veteran.

Survivors include his sister Nellie Mae Green of Lilburn; and a niece Dianne Wilson of Lilburn.

Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John W. Stone
John W. Stone, 65, of Wrens, entered into rest Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Burnett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Willie L. Jones officiating. Burial was in Stone Springfield AME Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his son, John W. Stone Jr. and daughter, Teresa Stone, both of Augusta; stepmother, Sallie Smith; brother, Willie Smith; four sisters, Leomia Jordan, Margaret (Roger) Boatwright, all of Stapleton, Merry (Michael) Roberts of Avera, and Reginus (Anthony) Payne of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burnett Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Roosevelt Travis
Mr. Roosevelt Travis, of Hephzibah, died on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Second Antioch Baptist Church, Keysville, with Rev. William Bussey officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Phinazee and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Helen Warnock
Mrs. Helen Virginia Eubanks Warnock, age 91, of Wadley, died Monday evening, Dec. 10, 2007, at Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley.

Mrs. Warnock was born in Washington county, but had lived in Wadley most of her life. She had been a member of the Wadley United Methodist Church for over 55 years, and she was a member of the Will Evans Sunday School class, the Friendship Club, and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Warnock was retired from Oxford Industries.

Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the Wadley United Methodist Church with Dr. Larry Sauls and Reverend Don Proctor officiating. Interment followed in the Wadley Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Warnock Binns (Carrol) of Augusta.; two sons, Clay Warnock (Patricia) of Canton, Charles Warnock (Barbara) of Dublin; niece, Rebecca Battle (Wayne) of Wadley; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tommy Battle, Bob Swann, Tommy Lamb, Craig Miller, Thomas Battle and Danny Brooks.

Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wanda Brown
Mrs. Wanda Brown, 50, of Wrens entered into rest Monday, May 5, 2008, at the Medical College of Georgia.

Memorial services were held Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 5 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel, with Willie DeLeon officiating.

Survivors include her husband, William Brown; children, William Dill and Trish Arrington; and eight grandchildren.

James Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Robertino "Pookie" Davis
Mr. Robertino “Pookie” Davis of Wrens departed this life on Monday, May 5, 2008, at University Hospital in Augusta.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at Palmer Grove Baptist Church with Reverend J.J. Smith presiding.

C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Cyrille Fortier
Mr. Cyrille Fortier, 93, of Midville, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2008, at Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley after a brief illness.

Mr. Fortier was born in Actonville, Canada, was a U.S. Army veteran and a contractor.

Graveside services were Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 3 p.m. in the Fortier Family cemetery near Midville with Scott Hudson officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Adeline Fortier; and his wife, Dorothy May Eureka Fortier.

Survivors include one daughter, Judith McGrath of Pompano Beach, Fla.; one son, Ron Fortier of Midville; three sisters, Jeanette Perry of Wolcott, Conn., Teresa Mario of Florida and Mary Ann Frenette of Waterbury, Conn.; and 13 grandchildren.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Joe W. Hall
Mr. Joe W. Hall, 56, of Wrens entered into rest Friday, May 2, 2008, at Trinty Hospital.

Mr. Hall was the husband of Janet Hall, and son of the late Leondus and Sarah Hall. He was self employed in construction.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 5, 2008, at 3 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom and Carolyn Schneider officiating. Burial followed at Walden U.N.C. Cemetery.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his brother, David Hall; and his sister, Ellen Wothrow.

Survivors include his two daughters, Shirley Hall and Holley Sparbel; two sons, Joseph Hall and Lee Hall; two stepsons, Eric Clark and Chris Clark; three brothers, Louis Washington, Charles Hall and Johnny Hall.; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Buster Silman, Timmy Silas, Lon Purvis, Rudy Cushman, Keith Ingett and Albert Hall.

Mrs. Queen Esther Mincey
Mrs. Queen Esther Mincey, 102, of Wadley entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at her residence in Wadley.

The funeral was held on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 4 p.m. at Hudson Mortuary Chapel in Wadley, with the Rev. Eric Best officiating. Burial was in the San Clair cemetery in Wadley.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Esther (Willie) Hall, Sarah (James) Perry, Ivery (Alma) Best, James (Mary) Best, Bobby (Emma) Best, Eugene (Lula) Best, John (Shelly) Best and Larry Best, all of Wadley, Theodosia (Roger) Jones and Mary Best, Augusta, Lucille (Kenneth) Darisaw, Louisville, and Charles (Madalya) Best, Amsterdam, N.Y.; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Hudson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Frances Brown Arrington
Mrs. Frances Brown Arrington, 82, of North Augusta, S.C. entered into rest on Saturday, May 17, 2008.

Mrs. Arrington was a native of Wrens, having made North Augusta her home for the past 60 years. She was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church. Mrs. Arrington was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at 10 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Father David F.O. Thompson officiating.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lee F. Brown; her parents, Roy and Katie Beckworth Sr.; two brothers, Billy and Roy Beckworth; and a sister, Kay B. Walker.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynne Brown Carmony, North Augusta; a sister, Helen Young, Grovetown; two grandchildren, Michael Brown, North Augusta, and Lee Franklin Brown Jr., North Carolina; three great-grandchildren.

Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta was in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Carolyn Holliday
Funeral services for Ms. Carolyn Holliday of Wrens were held Friday, May 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Sandvalley AME Church, Louisville, with Rev C.W. Stone, eulogist. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bonnie Wiggins Neal
Mrs. Bonnie Wiggins Neal, 75, of Bartow entered into rest Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Glendale Nursing Home, Wadley.

Mrs. Neal was a native of Glascock County, but lived in Jefferson County. She attended Old Bethel Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Old Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Mimbs officiating. Interment was in Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mitchell.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Mr. Billy Neal of Bartow; two sons, Tracy (Ann) Neal of Wrens, and Clay (Karen) Neal of Bartow; two grandchildren, Haleigh Neal and Tyler Neal; two sisters, Romette Smallwood of Augusta, and Betty Lewis of Wrens.

Pallbearers were James Kitchens, Chip Evans, Dewayne Morris, Shea Bunch, Jeff Norton and Mike Hobbs.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Kent, Lynn Keyton, Barry Beddingfield, Thomas Gray, Ken Stanley, Jimmy Maness and Talmadge Chalker.

Memorials may be made to Old Bethel Baptist Church, 1275 Old Bethel Church Road, Bartow, Ga. 304136 Attn : Angie Wren.

Mr. Harvey Dale Palmer
Mr. Harvey Dale Palmer, 52, of Thomson died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Doctors Hospital.

Mr. Palmer was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County. He was a security guard and a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Harlem.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008, in Westview cemetery with Mr. Gary Palmer officiating.

Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Palmer and Amanda Smith Palmer; and a sister, Brenda Tapley.

Survivors include his brother, Dean Palmer, Thomson; two sisters, Judy Robertson, Thomson, and JoAnne Newsome, Stapleton; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Colie Jones, Vic Tapley, Troy Tapley, Denny Tapley, Mike Palmer and Eddie Palmer.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
