Levy Chance Peloquin, infant son of Richard and Rhonda Peloquin, entered into rest Sunday, June 10, 2007.
The funeral will be June 14 at 11 a.m. at Dearing Full Gospel Church in Dearing with the Rev. Jerry Rockefeller officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery.

Sallie Mae Wilson
Mrs. Sallie Mae Wilson of Augusta died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Windermere Nursing Home.
Mrs. Wilson, a native of Jefferson County, had lived in Augusta for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Wilson.
The funeral was June 11 at 11:30 a.m. at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Frederick L. Patterson officiating. Burial was in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Doyle, Augusta; and a niece, Gloria Martin, Augusta.

John Frederick Blumer, III
John Frederick Blumer, III, DDS, 65, of River Street, Louisville, died at his residence on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Interment at the Louisville City cemetery was private, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. on June 2, at the Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Reverend William Anderson, church pastor, and Dr. Wilfred M. Bellamy officiated.
Visitation was held on June 1, at the family home, from 6 – 8 p.m.
Dr. Blumer was born in Tampa, Fla., on Oct. 12, 1941, the son of the late John F. and Ouida Blumer.
A graduate of Atlanta’s Emory University School of Dentistry, Dr. Blumer served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps in Fort Lewis, Washington, from 1966-68.
In 1968, his family moved to Louisville, where he maintained a private dentistry practice for 27 years.
He was a member of the Georgia and American Dental Associations and the Eastern District Dental Society.
Following his retirement from private practice, he served as an instructor at Swainsboro Technical College in Swainsboro, where he established their dental assisting program.
Dr. Blumer was an active member of the Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian (A.R.P.) Church for 39 years, where he served as a deacon and was currently serving as an elder.
He also served as a member of the A.R.P. denomination’s Board of Foreign Missions and World Witness, where he was past chairman.
He made numerous dental mission trips to foreign countries, including Mexico, Pakistan, and the Middle East.
Dr. Blumer was a member and past president of the Louisville Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 42 years, Stephanie Gholston Blumer, and sister Sharon Blumer, of Stone Mountain.
His four children also survive him, Rebecca Blumer Jones and her husband Walter and John M. Blumer and his wife Valerie, all of Louisville; Elisabeth Blumer Thompson and her husband Tracey, of Swainsboro; and Joe Boyd Blumer and his wife Suzanne, of Charleston, SC; and, eight grandchildren, Kathryne (Katy) and Sam Jones, and Amelia and Jack Blumer, all of Louisville; Zach and Tyler Thompson of Swainsboro; and Caroline and Annalise Blumer of Charleston, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 9, Louisville, GA 30434.

Fannie Ruth Rogers Clements
Mrs. Fannie Ruth Rogers Clements, 94, of McBean died Wednesday, May 30, 2007.
Mrs. Clements was a native of Lincoln County.
She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
The funeral was June 2 at 10 a.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Driggers officiating.
Burial was in Jefferson Memorial Garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband William F. “Bill” Clements; her son William F. “Clem” Clements and her parents, Samuel and Emmie Rogers.

Zetta Mae Johnson Hiebert
Mrs. Zetta Mae Johnson Hiebert, 89, of Louisville died Monday, June 4, 2007.
The funeral is June 7 at 10: 30 a.m. at Pinecrest Mennonite Church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Rodney (Gladys) Hiebert, Clark (Deborah) Hiebert; four daughters, Phyllis (Harold) Wenger, Rita (Ricky) Gay, Grace (Verle) Giesbrecht and Elizabeth Hiebert, all of Louisville; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Hiebert, Hazel, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons, Stacy Hiebert, Clay Hiebert, Joel Hiebert, Mark Hiebert, Rollin Giesbrecht, Wadey Giesbrecht and Bryce Wenge.

Lewis D. Raines
Lt. Col. Lewis D. Raines of Evans died Friday, June 1, 2007, at Westwood Nursing Home.
Mr. Raines was a native of Louisville and had lived in the Augusta area since 1965.
He attended Georgia Tech after graduating from high school.
When World War II broke out he left Georgia Tech to serve his country by joining the U.S. Army Air Corps where he became a fighter pilot in WWII and a recon pilot during the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lt. Col. and went to work for his brother at W.E. Raines Co. Lt. Col. Raines was a member of the Air Force Assoc., National Rifle Assoc. and was of the Methodist faith.
Graveside services were June 5 at 2 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park with full military honors. The Rev. Jimmy Raines officiated.
Survivors include his daughter, Carole Paige, Mitchell; sons, William B. Raines, Athens, and Lewis D. Raines, Evans; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Dorothy “Dot” Claxton Wall
Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Claxton Wall, 63, of Louisville died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Old Capital Health Care Center.
Mrs. Wall was a native of Emanuel County and a member of the Louisville Church of God.
She was a 1961 graduate of Swainsboro High School, a 1963 graduate of Brewton Parker and a 1965 graduate of Georgia Southern University.
She was a teacher at Lyons Middle School and Louisville High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Kathryn Claxton Sr.; her brother, Charles Douglas Claxton Sr.; and her grandson, Braxton Bethea.
The funeral was June 6 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Peebles- Curry-Durden Mortuary with the Revs. Eddie Wiggins, Allen Meeks and Lamar Kersey officiating. Burial was in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Michael A. Wall; two daughters, Mary Katherine and Reginald Bethea, Louisville, and Virginia “Ginny” and Michael Bryant Sr., Louisville; two sisters, Sarah McGraw, Wadley, and Bobby Gene Tapley, Swainsboro; two brothers, Richard Claxton Jr. and Jimmy Claxton, Swainsboro; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Thomas Woods, John Claxton, Mike Rowland, J.H. Meeks, Frank Flanders and Steve Flanders.
Honorary pallbearers were the Swainsboro High School Class of 1961 and Dr. Betty Brown.

Shirley Smith Simmons
Mrs. Shirley Smith Simmons, 63, of Stapleton died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Randallstown, Md.
Mrs. Simmons was a native of Jefferson County.
The daughter of Ada Lee Smith and the late Cephas Smith Sr.
She was a member of the Stone Springfield AME Church, a 1961 graduate of Jefferson County High, a graduate of Morris Brown College and furthered her studies at Howard University.
She lived in Baltimore, Md., where she joined Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
She served as Minister of Christian Education, Deaconess Ministry, Senior Choir #2.
She retired from the City of Baltimore Department of Social Services in 1996 and returned to Jefferson County where she continued her Christian service at New Zion Baptist and Woodlawn Baptist Church serving as director of Women’s Ministry and advisor of Woodlawn Missionary Ministry.
She was also a member of the Morris Brown Brownites, International Association of Ministers Wives and Widows, Most Ancient Matron of Heroines of Jericho chapter #606 and Eastern Star Chapter Zion #42.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Carl W. Simmons Sr., Stapleton; her children, Eric Christopher (Moshell) Simmons, Carl W. (Tonya) Simmons Jr., and Jennifer Lynn Simmons, Baltimore, Md.; her mother, Ada Lee Smith, Stapleton; siblings, Roosevelt (Christine) Smith and Cephas Smith Jr., Atlanta, Catherine Boyd, Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; and several other relatives.

Janie Mae Harmon Jackson
Mrs. Janie Mae Harmon Jackson, 59, of Louisville died Tuesday, May 22, 2007.
Mrs. Jackson, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Pierce Grove Baptist Church. She was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson County High School doing further studies at Savannah State College in home economics.
She lived in Atlanta for 35 years where she was a member of Antioch East Baptist Church and worked in the food service ministries as well as the deaconess board ministries.
She returned to Louisville in 2004.
The funeral was May 26 at noon at Pierce Grove Baptist Church and Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, Martha Cuyler Harmon, Louisville; her sons, Clarence (Tawanna) Jackson, Nobleville, Ind., and Jamie LeCharles (Dana) Jackson, Savannah; siblings, Carolyn (Rev. L.T.) Leonora Smith McMillan
Mrs. Leonora Smith McMillan, 99, died Thursday, May 24, 2007.
Mrs. McMillan was a native of Bartow but had lived most of her life in Louisville.
She was a homemaker and a member of Louisville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services were held May 29 at 11 a.m. at Bartow City cemetery with the Rev. William Anderson officiating.
Survivors include one son, Daniel Russell and Evelyn McMillan, Madison, Wis.; one grandson, Stephen Daniel Mc- Daniel; and two great-grandson, Evan Daniel and Brett Robert McMillian; all of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a special nephew and niece, John and Mary Mancin; sister-in-law, Henrietta McMillan Futrel, all of Bartow; and several nieces and nephews.
