Henrietta McMillan Futral
Mrs. Henrietta McMillan Futral, 88, died Saturday, July 14, 2007.
Mrs. Futral was a native of Bartow.
She joined Bartow United Methodist Church in 1935 and at the time of her death was its oldest living member.
She served as president and vice president of the Missionary Society, taught Sunday School and was for many years chairman of local church activities.
She was also an active member of Bartow Community Club.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Malcolm McMillan, and second husband, Danny Futral.
The funeral will be July 19 at 11 a.m. at Bartow United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bartow City Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary (McMillan) and John Mancin; three grandchildren and their families, Jay and Stacy Mancin and children, Jenny, Mary, Laura, John and Josh of Gainesville; Mal and Kim Mancin and children, Ashley, Malcolm and Grace of Macon; and Sabrina and Bill Cooper and Chris of Bartow; two brothers, Thomas Salter, Dublin, and Charles Salter, Bartow; and one sister, Faye S. Johnson, Leesburg, Fla. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jay Mancin, Mal Mancin and Bill Cooper; great-grandsons, John Mancin and Chris Cooper; and nephew, Edward Salter.

James D. Tompkins Jr.
Mr. James D. Tompkins Jr., 34, of Augusta died Sunday, July 7, 2007.
Mr. Tompkins, a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, worked in food service and as an associate at the S&S; Cafeteria in North Augusta.
He was of the Baptist faith.
The funeral was July 12 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Rev. Steven L. Patteson officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Tracey Beth Tompkins; his father, James D. Tompkins Sr., Waynesboro; mother and step-father, Dorothy and Donald Gunnells, Augusta; sons, Brandon Tompkins and Camron Tompkins, Augusta; step-daughters, Bridget Syms, Hephzibah, and Candace Syms, Blythe; brothers, David Tompkins, Gibson, and Joseph Tompkins, Augusta; and two grandchildren.

Mr. James H. Oglesby, 63, of Wrens died Sunday, July 15, 2007.
Mr. Oglesby was a carpenter.
Memorial services will be held July 19 at 2 p.m. at 3061 Twin Oaks Rd. with the Rev. Jerome Ryals and Pastor Wilma Byrd officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Oglesby; four daughters, Kathy (Scotty) Prickett, Wendy Hill, Christine (Scottie) Larisey, and Karen (Cleve) Royal; two sons, Frankie (Cheryl) Simpson and Jessie Oglesby; a stepdaughter, Julie (John) Freeman; a brother, Ruffus Harris (Lillian) Oglesby; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ms. Irene Walker Diaz of Gough died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at University Hospital in Augusta.
The funeral was July 7 at 1 p.m. at Green Grove AME Zion Church in Gough with the Rev. Samuel Grant officiating.
Burial was in Walker Family cemetery in Gough.
Survivors include four sisters, Daisy Walker, Columbia, SC, Hattie Bell Lafavor, Louisville, Josephine Lewis, Aiken, SC, and Jeanette (Glenn) Birt, Wrens; two brothers, David (Betty Ann) Walker and Bennie Walker, both of Gough; and several other relatives.

Mary McNeal
Mrs. Mary McNeal, 88, of Louisville died Saturday, July 7, 2007.
Mrs. McNeal was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was retired from Stapleton Garment as a machine operator.
She is preceded in death by her husband William McNeal and her parents, Eugene and Imogene Hadden.
The funeral was July 9 at 3 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Atkinson officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Kelley and Barbara Williams; two sons, William McNeal and William Williams; a brother, Lewis Hadden; a sister, Margaret Kelly; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Allen Hadden, Rusty Hadden, Thomas Thigpen, Troy McNeal, Travis Rooks and Everette Guy.

Mr. Clayton A. Reese, 48, of Lanett, Ala., died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Akron, Ohio.
Mr. Reese was a truck driver.

Mary Alice Upton Smith
Mrs. Mary Alice Upton Smith, 52, of Louisville died Saturday, July 7, 2007.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Jefferson County and the daughter of the late Franklin and Lucille Brown Upton, a graduate of Louisville High School.
At an early age she joined the Magnolia Baptist Church and later joined her husband at the Woodlawn Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board. She was employed with Net Transportation.
The funeral will be July 14 at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Baptist Church and cemetery with the Revs. Carl Simmons and Perry Daniels officiating.

Emma Nicole Miller of Stapleton died Monday, June 25, 2007.

Mrs. Etta M. Reese, 83, of Mitchell died Saturday, June 30, 2007, in a Macon hospital.
Funeral services were July 7 at 1 p.m. at Second Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Mitchell.
Burial was at Fellowship Baptist Church, Mitchell.

Mr. Rodney O’Neal Butler, 28, of Bartow died Monday, June 25, 2007.
Mr. Butler, a native of Johnson County, attended Johnson County Schools and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
The funeral was June 28 at 11 a.m. at the Community Church of Jesus #2, Bartow. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Alfred Hunter Connally
Mr. Alfred Hunter Connally of Mitchell died Wednesday, June 27, 2007.
Mr. Connally, a native of Ruskin, Fla., was the son of the late Emory Connally and the late Sarah McCorkle Connally. He was a retired master sargent from the US Air Force with 21 years of service.
He was the owner and operator of the Five Points Store for over 20 years. He was a Baptist.
He is preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Connally.
A memorial service was held July 1 at 2 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Theron Connally officiating.
Burial was in Little Brier Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Survivors include his sons, Chris Connally, Briston, Tenn., and James Connally, Dearing; a sister, Sadie C. Strother, Warrenton; brothers, Theron Connally, Texas, Robert Connally, Ariz.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Deannie Andrews Thomas, 60, of Wrens died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Glendale Nursing Home.
Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mamie Andrews of Wrens.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie L. Hannah, and a sister, Sheila C. Andrews.
The funeral was July 3 at 3 p.m. at Wrens Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Samuel Thompkins officiating.
Burial was in the Wrens Memorial Garden Cemetery.
