Mary Nell Elrod
Mary Nell Elrod, age 94, of Hampton, Georgia died July 26, 2007. She was born in Monroe , Georgia to the late Raymond and Pearl Adams Hearn. Mrs. Elrod was a member of the United Methodist Church of Boca Grande, Florida. Her husband of 56 years, Thoben Frank Elrod, Sr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Dorothy Elrod of Hampton; grandchildren, Amanda Carr, Katie Elrod, Ashley Elrod, Shelli Whittle, Christa Rainwater, and Thoben Elrod III; and 2 great grandchildren.
Services were held July 28 from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Vanderford officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Calvary Assembly of God, 805 Highway 3, Hampton, GA 30228 in memory of Mrs. Elrod. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Grady P. Henley
Grady P. Henley, age 50, of Locust Grove, Georgia died July 26, 2007. Mr. Henley was born in Fulton County the son of the late Lois Letson and Tom Philip Henley. He worked as a mechanic for Auto Tune. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Phil and Eloise Henley and Euell and Betty Letson.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Ann Hill Henley, daughters, Kasey Henley and Kim Henley Coker; granddaughter, Courtney Coker; aunt, Betty Henley all of Locust Grove.
Services were held July 29 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Seabolt officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Georgia Faye Causey
Georgia Faye Causey, age 63, of Locust Grove, Georgia died July 27, 2007. Mrs. Causey was born in Henry County daughter of the late George Thomas and Ella Corrine Kelley Elliott. She was retired after over 30 years with Lucent Technologies and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, watching cooking and game shows, and her family. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anne Lyle and
a niece, Jamie Bailey.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Vicki Causey of Locust Grove; grandson, Tyler Causey; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Carole Elliott of McDonough; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Raymond Causey of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 30 from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. James Bates and Deacon Bill Stone officiating. Interment Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Wilburn F. Garrett
Mr. Wilburn F. "Jake" Garrett, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia died July 28, 2007. He was born in Cordele to the late Elisha Garrison and Della Burgess Garrett. He served his country in the United States Navy and the Army and was retired after 27 years with Mead. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Conyers, was a Mason and enjoyed being a locksmith.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Wilma Anderson Garrett of McDonough; children, Sheila and Robert Garrett of Alabama, Melvin Miller, Grace Orr, and David F. Miller, all of McDonough, Lee and Angie Eason of Hogansville, and Byron and Sheila Miller of Carnesville; 25 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; sisters, Nettie Quinton and Hazel Morrell, both of Conyers.
Services were held July 31 from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Puckett officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Samuel G. Hurst
Rev. Samuel G. Hurst, age 89, of Stockbridge, Georgia died July 29, 2007. He was born in Adamsville, Tennessee the son of the late Princes and Ora Camille Pickens Hurst. Rev. Hurst was pastor of numerous churches; most recently Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Barnesville. He was also a licensed minister with The Assemblies of The Lord Jesus Christ and served as superintendent at one time. He was a WWII veteran serving in England, Northern Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Czechoslovakia. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Ann Hurst.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Mae Hurst; children, Glenda Mae Stewart of Oxford, Jerry Ronald Hurst of Jonesboro, Phillip Ray Hurst of Locust Grove, Gloria Fay Hicks of Watkinsville, Billy Joe Hurst of McDonough, Gayla Dolores Hurst of Stockbridge, David Royce Hurst of Fayetteville, Joy Kimberly Roe of Hampton, Kara Jan Hurst of Williamson, Daniel Paul Hurst of Jonesboro, Samuel Wayne Hurst of Jonesboro, Sara Crystal Floyd of Stockbridge, Bethany Doan Jones of McDonough; 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 31 at Oak Park Church with Pastors David Scott, Don Johnson, Butch Ollis, Larry Phillips, and Steve Wilson officiating. Interment Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Sherrie Deanne Miller
Ms. Sherrie Deanne Miller, age 34, of McDonough, Georgia died August 2, 2007. She was born in Tampa, Florida. She was a hairdresser and enjoyed her family, shopping, camping and NASCAR.
She is survived by her children: Hannah Hutchinson of Adel, and Alexander Pugh of McDonough; mother, Nancy Logan of Gibsonton, Florida; father, Donald J. Miller of Lee, Florida; sisters, Melissa Chambers of Hampton, Erin Miller and Jessica Miller of Lee, Florida and Donna Sanzini of Tampa, Florida; brother, Eric Fouch of Riverview, Florida; fiance’, Keith Pugh of McDonough; nieces and nephews.
Services were held August 6 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Bobby W. Whiddon
Bobby W. Whiddon, age 65, of McDonough, Georgia died August 2, 2007. He was born in Thomasville, the son of the late Homer and Madie Whiddon. He was a loving husband and father. Most important to him was his family.
Mr. Whiddon was preceded in death by his step-son, Michael Wootten. Mr. Whiddon is survived by his wife of 12 years, Eloise E. Whiddon of McDonough; children, Rhonda (Ricky) Boutwell of Zebulon, Michael J. Whiddon of Rex, Tony (Renee) Whiddon of McDonough Lauren (Keith) Wimpey of McDonough, GA; step-daughter, Rita McQurter of Douglasville; brother, Edward Whiddon of Stockbridge; sister, Helen Burns of Sarasota, Florida; 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held August 5 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Jeff Watkins officiating. Interment Pinegrove Baptist Church Cemetery, Lenox. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Albert Estep
Albert Estep, age 59, of Stockbridge, Georgia died July 18, 2007. He was born in Argo, Kentucky the son of the late Arthur and Gracie Hurley Estep. Mr. Estep was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed camping and loved dirt track racing. But most of all he was a loving husband and father.

Mr. Estep is survived by his wife, Sandra Estep; son, Justin Estep, both of Stockbridge; daughter, Stephanie Renee Frye of Lexington, Kentucky; and his four-legged friend, Spike.

Services were held on July 21, in the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dudley Rose officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Margaret Inez Westmoreland Stephens
Mrs. Margaret Inez Westmoreland Stephens, age 78, of Hampton, Georgia died July 18, 2007. She was born in Hampton to the late Andrew Byron and Lillie Mae Patterson Westmoreland. She was a retired Henry County special education school bus driver and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Stephens in 2001 and by sisters and a brother, Betty Gasses, Hazel Copeland, and Glenn Westmoreland.

Survivors include children, Patti Wright and Mark (Kim) Stephens of Hampton; grandchildren, Joseph Jones, Ashley Stephens, and Josh Stephens all of Hampton; sisters, Jeanette Jones of Griffin, Ann Gasses of Monticello, Jean Daniel of Hampton, Norma Westmoreland of Hampton, and Edna Sutton of Los Alamos, New Mexico; brother, Joe Westmoreland of Hampton.

Services were held July 21 from Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Henderson officiating. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Building Fund/Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Stephens. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Sherry Rae Stanley
Sherry Rae Stanley, age 58, of McDonough, Georgia died July 19, 2007. She was born in Clarinda, Iowa. Sherry loved to paint, sew, and bake cakes. But most important to her was being a mom to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Stipe.

Mrs. Stanley is survived by her husband, George Stanley; daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie Lynn and Ryan Woodruff of Charleston, South Carolina, Stephanie Renee Fitzgibbon of Griffin, Sarah Michelle and Jeffrey Pinson of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Alyssa Pinson, age 6, Avery Pinson, age 1, Skylar Fitzgibbon, age 6; mother, Doris Helen Spicer; grandmother, Helen Snodderley, of Clairmont of Missouri; two sisters; and one brother.

Private memorial services were held on Tuesday, July 24 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dana Everhart officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Jonathan John Johnson, Jr.
Mr. Jonathan John "Johnny" Johnson, age 54, of Decatur, Georgia died July 20, 2007. Mr. Johnson was born in Savannah the son of the late Olene Towns and Jonathan John Johnson, Sr. Mr. Johnson was an avid GA Tech fan; he enjoyed wood working and making birdhouses.

He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Claudette Johnson of McDonough and Glenn and Elizabeth Johnson of Dublin; nephews, Derrick Johnson of Tifton, Kenneth Johnson of Alpharetta, Tim Norman of McDonough and Chris Norman of McDonough; special friend, Carol Harris of Decatur, and his friends at Waffle King in Decatur.

Services for Johnny Johnson were held July 28 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Mike Dixon and Jerry Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Humane Society. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
