William Frank Easterlin, Jr.
Mr. William Frank Easterlin, Jr., 81, of 801 Mulberry St., Louisville, died at his home Dec. 5, 2007.
He was the beloved husband of Lillian Abbot Easterlin.
Mr. Easterlin was the Chairman of the Board of Queensborough National Bank and Trust, Louisville.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, class of 1948, Mr. Easterlin served in the U. S. Navy from 1948 until 1954.
In 1954, he joined First National Bank and Trust of Louisville, becoming President in 1964. He served as president until 1997 when he became Chairman of the Board of First National Bank and Trust, now Queensborough Bank and Trust.
He served as president of the Queensborough Company from its inception in 1985 until 1997.
He was member and past president of the Kiwanis Club, member and past president of the Chamber of Commerce, member and past president of the Jefferson County Development Authority, member and past president of Louisville Industrial Development Corporation.
He served as president on several occasions of the Ogeechee Valley Country Club.
He was instrumental in the establishment of the Jefferson County Library. He was a member of the Augusta Country Club.
Mr. Easterlin was an avid daylily grower and a member of the American Hemerocallis Society. He took great delight in sharing his certified Hemerocallis garden with friends and the community.
Mr. Easterlin was the son of the late William Frank Easterlin, Sr., and Hulet Humber Easterlin of Americus, and the brother of the late Robert Humber Easterlin of Americus. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, Louisville.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lillian Abbot Easterlin; two sons, William Frank Easterlin, III (Patricia) and Wright Abbot Easterlin (Laurie); two daughters, Hulet Humber Kitterman (William), and Lillian Carswell Easterlin, Louisville, and 12 grandchildren, William Parker Kitterman (Imali), Margaret Eleanor Kitterman, Mary Hulet Humber Kitterman, William Warfield Easterlin, Clare Carswell Easterlin, Frank Larsen Ogeechee Easterlin, Ansley Marie Easterlin, Julia Hite Easterlin, Eliza Cates Easterlin, John Frederick Agel, III, Lillian Abbot Agel and Kathryn Wagstaff Agel. He is also survived by his cousin William S. Harris, of Americus, and many devoted nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Louisville Cemetery, following a private family mass earlier that morning. The Reverend Ronald Southerland, the Reverend Carl Andrew and the Reverend Rosina Ampah officiated.
Honorary pallbearers were the Directors and Directors Emeritus of Queensborough National Bank and Trust.

Mrs. Cynthia M. Blakey, 49, of Augusta entered into rest on Sunday, March 28, 2010.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Thompson Springhill AME Church, Matthews, with Pastor Timothy Lewis and Rev. Robert Edwards as eulogist. Interment was in Spring Bethel AME Church Cemetery, Louisville.

Mr. Ernest “Ernie” Brooks
Mr. Ernest “Ernie” Brooks, 68, of Hephzibah entered into rest on Saturday, April 3, 2010, after a two year battle with melanoma.
Mr. Brooks was a native of Stapleton, the son of the late Clifford Brooks and Rosa McTier Newsome. He was a retired commercial carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy T. Brooks, Thelma Sheppard, Neelie Criswell, Junior Brooks, J.S. Brooks, Cleon Beasley, Jimmy Brooks and Cleo Gosnell.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Brooks; stepchildren, Deirdre Kinard and Richard Solomon (Connie), all of Walterboro, S.C., and Catherine Devin (Michael) of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughters, Ruth Ann Eidson (Keith) of Arkansas, Janice Reese (Roger) of Augusta; brothers, Felton Beasley (Shirley) of Stapleton, and Elton Beasley of Augusta; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jacob L. Evans, 76, of Martinez entered into rest on Saturday, March 27, 2010, in UniHealth Post Acute Care of North Augusta, S.C.
Mr. Evans was a native of Rossville, but had lived in Martinez for many years. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He was a retired Army veteran.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010, in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Full military honors will be observed.
He was preceded in death by a son, Andy Gene Evans.
Survivors include his wife, Bellveline Evans, Augusta; three daughters, Myrella E. Mr. Lewis was born in Burke County to the late Joe and Amandy Harwick Lewis. He was a retired cement finisher at Plant Vogtle.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Adams Chapel Church of God In Christ, Louisville, with Rev. Johnnie B. Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Second Phillip Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Rosier.

Mrs. Hilda Joye Lowery
Mrs. Hilda Joye Lowery, 71, of Sylvester entered into rest on March 27, 2010, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
A native of Louisville, Mrs. Lowery had resided in Albany for 39 years before moving to Sylvester four years ago. She retired in 2004 from the Waffle House Restaurant and was formerly employed at the Heritage House and Doublegate Country Club. Mrs. Lowery was a member of the First Baptist Church of Putney.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Moye officiating.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Mallory.
Survivors include five daughters, Rosemary West of Albany, Kim Chapman (Bob) of Jacksonville, Fla., Helen Joyce (Gary) of Atlanta, Elizabeth Leming (Bo) of Worth County, and Jacquelyn Brown (Billy) of Leesburg; three sisters, Elizabeth Weeks (Lucian) of Wadley, Helen Reese (Emory) of Roswell, and Elaine Goines (Bob) of Warthen; nine grandchildren, Connor West, Rose Chapman, Alexis Chapman, Donald Shelton, Matthew Shelton, Madison Joyce, Ashley Anne Leming, Tristan Michael Brown and Briley Elizabeth Brown.

Mr. Edward S. “Shady” Ray, 83, of Warrenton entered into rest on Tuesday, March 30, 2010.
Mr. Ray, a native of Warren County, was the son of the late George H. and Lillian Adams Ray. He was a retired supervisor with Delta Airlines and a member of the Johnson United Methodist Church.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Johnson Cemetery, with Rev. David Jenkins and Rev. Bill Seaman officiating.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George A. Ray and William (Bill) Ray; and two sisters, Marjorie Hudson and Lillian Fuller.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marcia R. “Peggy” Ray; one daughter, Marcia R. Glawe, Decorah, Iowa; one son, Edward L. Ray, Warrenton; two grandchildren, Erin Glawe Anderson and John Glawe; one sister, Alice Stebbins, Dearing; sister-in-law, Mary Abercrombie, Statesboro; and friend, Jim McMichael.

Mrs. Golda Eichinger Allin
Mrs. Golda Eichinger Allin, 89, of Aiken, S.C., entered into rest on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at her residence.
A native of Chester, Ohio, Mrs. Allin was a daughter of the late George Edward and Ida Mae Willard Eichinger. She grew up in Pomeroy, Ohio, and had lived in Aiken, S.C., since 1952. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Ellenton, S.C., since 1953. She was a member of the Aiken County Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years and had volunteered 9, 000 hours.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Ellenton, S.C., with Rev. Brian Gilmer officiating. Interment followed in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles W. Allin; son-in-law, Jerry Collins; grandson, Kevin Allin; four sisters; and a brother.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Collins, Belvedere, S.C., and Diane A. (Andy) Purvis, Wrens; a son, Charles (Pat) Allin, Aiken, S.C.; nine grandchildren, Susie Sack, Suzanne Viles, Melissa Mock, Michelle Smith, Diane Allin, Connie Sparks, Greg Allin, Darrin Fox and Sean Fox; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Andrews was born in Buffalo, N.Y. She was the co-owner of Andrews Climate Control and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she worked with AWANA’s.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Jefferson County, with Rev. Steve Keener officiating. Burial was in the Washington County Memorial Gardens.
