Robert A. “Bob” Bailey
Robert A. Bailey, age 82 of Loganville, GA died May 25, 2006.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bonnie Bailey; daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Norman Rogers of Cumming, GA. daughter: Kathy Grant and her partner, Joan Eaton of Loganville, GA. daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Tommy McDonald of Mansfield, GA. son and daughter-in-law: Theron and Ernestine Batson of Rogers, Arkansas, son: Tim Layne of Bethlehem, GA; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bailey was retired from Bellsouth after 40 years of service, as a Plant Assigner. He was a US WW II Army D-Day Veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. A member of Grayson First Baptist Church and worked at Braxton’s Antique Mall from 1992 until 1998 after his retirement because of his love for antiques.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 28 at Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment was at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.

Clarice B. Allen
Clarice B. Allen, 91, of Monroe, died May 19, 2006.
A native of Walton County, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Adams Braswell. She was the widow of W. Claude Allen and was a retired sales clerk. She was a member of Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held May 21, 2006 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home. The Rev. Tony Dyer, the Elder Ronnie Loudermilk, the Elder Kenneth Brantley and the Rev. Russell Davis officiated and interment was in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom Hanson, Allen Robertson, Brett Davis, Charles Sirmans, Wayne Johnson, Josh Davis and Christopher Allen.
She is survived by a daughter: Diane A. Queen of Monroe; a son and daughter-in-law: Donald and Dora Allen of Hiram; grandchildren: Lea Queen and Charles Sirmans, Len and Brett Davis, Jennifer Allen, Christopher Allen, Wayne Johnson and Tracy Johnson; Great-grandchildren: Joshua Davis, Jacob Davis, Amber Johnson, Corey Sirmans and Corinne Sirmans.

Myra L. Whitt
Myra L. Whitt, 73, of Monroe died May 19, 2006.
A native of Boaz, AL., she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Velma Richardson Lee. She was a former secretary for Bell South and was a member of Monroe First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held May 22, 2006 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home.
The Rev. Margaret Adams, The Rev. Hilton Estes and Barbara Head officiated and interment was in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chad Taylor, Michael Kelly, David Hayes, Ken Bowman, Darrell Cox, Travis Simpson and Corey Simpson.
She is survived by her husband: Arthur W. Whitt; son: Ronny Smith of Raleigh, NC.: granddaughter: Ginger Smith Bowman of Hephzibah; cousin: Megan Pitt of Boaz, Al,; Godchildren: Melissa Baker Rogait, Stephanie Baker and Andrew Baker; great-grandchildren: Ashley Elizabeth Bowman and Amber Suzanne Bowman.

Norma S Waldrop
Norma S. Waldrop, 82, of Monroe died May 21, 2006.
A native of Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas C. and Maggie Towler Simons. The widow of W. Thomas Waldrop, Jr., she was a retired dental hygienist, a former employee of the Walton County school system and a member of Monroe First Baptist Church.
Memorial services were held May 25, 2006 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home.
Dr. Glen H. Money officiated. The remains were cremated.
She is survived by daughters: Tomi Waldrop of Grayson and Lisa (Robert) Peters of Snellville; grandchildren: Robb Peters, Kasey Vermilya and Abbey Vermilya.

Carol J. Garrett, 63, of Monroe died May 20, 2006.
A native of Coffee County, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Blanche Rector Russell . The widow of J. Nelson Garrett, she was a homemaker and was a member of the Monroe First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held May 21, 2006 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home.
The Rev. Margaret Adams officiated and interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers were Sydney Cooper, Aaron McPhee, Scott Pearre, Jerry Moore and Tony Cornelius.
She is survived by daughters: Michelle Renee Garrett and Dani Garrett both of Augusta and Susan Garrett of Madison.

Thomas Watson Broach, 83 of Monroe, died on May 19, 2006. He was born in Morgan County on September 2, 1922 to the late Harrison Broach and the late Willie Mae Young Broach.
Surviving are: wife: Dorothy Meadows Broach, Monroe; daughters and sons-in-law: Jean Stephens, Monroe, Shirley and James Meadows, Danielsville, Mae and Sonny Hamrick, Cape Coral, FL, Lisa and Edwin Santiago, Monroe and Sherry and Phil Murrell, Bethlehem; sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas Harrison Broach and Elaine Kirby, Athens, Johnny and Teresa Broach, Monroe, Jacky and Brenda Broach, Covington, and James Broach, Cumming; sisters: Hazel Shepherd, Monroe and Martha Craig, Marietta; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 22 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Autry and Brother Robert Magness officiating. Interment followed at Hill Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Matt Stephens, Justin Broach, Derrick Broach, Jeff Peters, Brandon Connelly and Jamie Tolbert.

Alice Peters Youngblood, 70, of Monroe died May 10,2006.
A daughter of the late Wayman C. Peters and Carla Jane Wortham Peters, she was an employee with Avon for 40 years, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held May 12, 2006 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home. The Rev. Doyle Wallace and the Rev. David Wiggins officiated and interment was in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery.

Mary P. Peppers, 85, of Bostwick died May 12, 2006.
A native of Walton County, Mrs. Peppers spent most of her life in Morgan County. She was a daughter of the late Cliff Bachelor and Ruvella Turner Bachelor. The widow of W. H. (Doc) Peppers, she was a retired seamstress for Carwood Mfg. and was a member of Gibb’s Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral Services were held May 15, 2006 in Gibb’s Memorial Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Owens, The Rev. Don Malcom and The Rev. Bonnie Peters officiated and interment was in the Bostwick Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Luther, James Ruark, Keith Barnette, Phil Newell, Ronald Peppers and Donald Peppers.
She is survived by a daughter: Peggy P. Dion of Bostwick; sons and daughters-in-law: Roger and Debby Peppers of Dalton, Dan and Brenda Peppers of Bostwick; sister: Hazel Shelnutt of Bishop; brothers: Ralph Bachelor of Covington and Cliff Bachelor, Jr. of Marietta; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Adell Barnett
Adell Barnett, 68 of Monroe, died on June 8, 2006.
She was born in Walton County on March 5, 1938 to the late Robert Augustus McWaters and the late Estelle McMichael McWaters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Melvin Leon Barnett, sisters: the late Annie Lois Bolton and the late Elizabeth Chandler; brothers: the late Ralph McWaters and the late Charles McWaters.
Surviving are: daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Jerry McIntyre, Monroe, and Debbie and Chris Chancey, Monroe; sons: Billy Barnett, Monroe; sisters: Ola Lee Barton, Monroe, Louise Moon, Toccoa, Betty Waters, Cummings and Joyce Edmondson, Good Hope; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 11 at 4 p.m. at the Monroe Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Billy Autry and the Rev. Bryan Durden officiating. Interment followed at Westlawn Cemetery.

Alma Robertson McCord
Alma Robertson McCord, 98, of Oxford, GA died June 10, 2006.
Mrs. McCord was born February 13, 1008 in South Carolina to the late William Gordon Robertson and Katie Belle Botts Robertson. She was a member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church. Mrs. McCord was a strong family woman, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. McCord is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years Mr. Bill McCord.
She is survived by her daughter and son in-law Pat and Tom Billings of Oxford, GA. Son and daughter in-law James and Marilu Putnam of Whitefish, Montana. Son William H. “Bill” McCord of Oxford, GA. 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. McCord were held Tuesday June 13, 2006 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with The Rev. Alex Stevens officiating. Interment followed at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
