Mr. Maurice Dunlap

Mr. Maurice Dunlap, 87, of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, died Dec. 19, 1997, at Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Dunlap was born Jan. 23, 1910, in Meriwether County, son of the late John H. Dunlap and the late Roxie Braswell Dunlap. He was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County and was a longtime Luthersville businessman. He operated Dunlap Service Station in Luthersville for 26 years prior to his retirement.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Powers Witcher will officiate, and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Inez Murphy Dunlap of Rocky Mount; daughter, Johnsie Dunlap of Newnan; and grandson, Brian Hund of Newnan.

Contributions in memory of Mr. Dunlap may be made to the Luthersville cemetery Fund, c/o Bank of Coweta, Post Office Box 237, Luthersville, Ga. 30251.

Mr. Earl Fuller

Mr. Earl Fuller, 67, of Whitesburg died Dec. 18, 1997, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Born Nov. 30, 1930 in Troup County, Mr. Fuller was the son of the late Hubbard Fuller and Ola Mae Thompson Fuller. He was a retired heating and air conditioning specialist and a Baptist.

A funeral was conducted Saturday at Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Wilburn officiating. Interment followed at Whitesburg cemetery with David Haynes, Stanley Crenshaw, Buster Fuller, Wayne Fuller, Aaron Fuller and Reuben Fuller serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Louise Johnson Fuller of Whitesburg; daughter, Sharon Durden of Rome; sons, Aaron Fuller, Rueben Fuller, both of Franklin, Herbert Earl Fuller of Barnesville, John Wayne Fuller of Whitesburg; brother, James Fuller of Griffin;13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lucille Holloway Gordon

Mrs. Lucille Holloway Gordon, 88, of Sprayberry Road in Newnan died Dec. 17, 1997, at her home.

Born Sept. 8, 1909 in Carrollton, Mrs. Gordon the wife of the late Henry Grady Gordon. She was a homemaker.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Walker and the Rev. Chip Gordon officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elven (Mary) Caswell of Newnan; son, Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Gordon of Newnan; sister, Frances Shelnutt of Newnan; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Elizabeth A. 'Beth' Hutchens

Mrs. Elizabeth A. 'Beth' Hutchens, 88, of Magnolia Drive in Whitesburg died Dec. 20, 1997, at Newnan Hospital.

Born Sept. 12, 1909 in Georgia, Mrs. Hutchens was retired from the Fulton County School System. A teacher of 44 years, she worked in Fairburn, Fulton County and Coweta County schools. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating.

Survivors include her nephew, Jessie Armstrong Jr. of Newnan; and nieces, Dorothy "Dottie" Armstrong of Marietta, Wynn Armstrong Creal of Atlanta and Louise Armstrong Grotheer of Savannah.

Memorial contributions can be made to Central Baptist Church.

Mr. Bennie C. Kendall, 60, of Gordon Road in Senoia died Dec. 14, 1997, at Peachtree Regional Hospital.

Born Aug. 12, 1937 in Spalding County, Mr. Kendall was a member of New Hope AME Church in Haralson.

A service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at New Hope AME Church, with the Rev. Willie Heard officiating. Interment will follow at Old White Oak Cemetery.

Survivors include his sisters, Jerry Dean Kendall, Lunell McDaniel, Evenlee Brown, Wilma Brown; brothers, Willie Kendall, Jerry Kendall, William Brown, John Frank Kendall; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins.

Mrs. A.Z. Lambert of Moreland died Dec. 18, 1997 at Peachtree Regional Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Burke Rholetter

Mrs. Mary Burke Rholetter, 84, of LaGrange died Dec. 19, 1997, at Hospice LaGrange.

Born May 21, 1913 in LaGrange, Mrs. Rholetter was the daughter of Roy Glover and Martha Elizabeth Boggs Burke. She was a member of East Vernon Baptist Church and the Steadfast Sunday School Class. She was active in WMU and was a former Sunday School teacher.

A service will be at 2 p.m. today at East Vernon Baptist Church with pastor Clayton Scott and the Rev. Walter Gilbert officiating. Interment followed at Mountville cemetery in Mountville, Ga.

Survivors include her husband, Furman D. Rholetter of LaGrange; daughters, Dr. J. Wylene Rholetter of LaGrange, Dr. Elizabeth Purdy of LaGrange; son, David Rholetter of Jonesboro; sister, Mary Alice Mitchell of Buford; brother, the Rev. Glover Burke of Macon; grandchildren, James and Christie Purdy of Jonesboro, Jody Purdy, Casey Purdy, both of LaGrange, Andy and Amanda Purdy of Newnan; nieces and nephews.

Miss Pamela Sue Yearta, 7, of Hogansville died Dec. 18, 1997.

Born July 23, 1990 in Newnan, Miss Yearta was a second-grade student at Hogansville Elementary School.

A service will be at 4 p.m. today at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Cross officiating. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville with Terry Aldridge, Richard Stroud, Phil Waldrop and J.M. Hendrix serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her mother and step-father, Elizabeth and Scotty Burks of Hogansville; father, Richard Boggs of Easley, S.C.; grandparents, Douglas and Emily Yearta of Hogansville, Albert and Lucille Boggs of Easley; step-grandfather, the Rev. Billy Burks of Hogansville; step-great-grandparents, Young Allen of Hogansville, Clyde and Pauline Burks of Warren, Ark.

Mrs. Thelma W. Burnett

Mrs. Thelma Wigley Burnett, 75, of the Lone Oak Community of Meriwether County, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997, at the home of her daughter in Hogansville.

Mrs. Burnett was born Feb. 18, 1922 in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Rich and Ellen Hamby Wigley. She lived at Lone Oak for 45 years, attended the Grantville Church of God, and was retired from West Point Pepperell in Grantville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Johnny Nunis will officiate, and interment will be in Meriwether Memory Gardens near Manchester.

Survivors include daughter, Mrs. Jo Nell Lesley of Hogansville; son, Milton Burnett of Lone Oak; sisters, Mrs. Juanita Wyche of Moreland, Mrs. Mary Byrd of Columbus, and Mrs. Mildred Darling of Manchester; brother, Buck Wigley of Manchester; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Joseph Philip Gasaway

Mr. Joseph Philip Gasaway, 74, of Whitesburg, died Dec. 20, 1997 at his residence.

Born Oct. 29, 1923 in Cobb County, he was the son of the late Robert N. Gasaway and Minnie Gasaway of Fayetteville, Georgia.

Mr. Gasaway retired as a welder from Metal Fabricators in Lakewood, Ga. and was a deacon of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Senoia, Ga.

He was preceded in death by daughters Jo Ann Gasaway who resided in Fayettville, Ga., and Deborah Lou (Gasaway) Hartzog who resided in Eufaula, Alabama; a grandson, Christopher Gasaway who was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip A. Gasaway; and sisters, Ruth Phillips who resided in Brownsville, Texas, and Mildred Massengale who resided in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Friends and family will gather at McKoon Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. Elmer Stephen officiating.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Anna Hardy Gasaway of Whitesburg and originally from Winter Park, Florida; daughter, Linda E. Gasaway (Mrs. Melvin Minix) of Sharpsburg, Ga. and 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; son, Philip A. Gasaway (wife, Linda J. Gasaway) of Whitesburg, Ga. and 2 grandchildren; son, Wade T. Gasaway of Columbus, Ga.; son, Douglas W. Gasaway (wife, Angie Gasaway) of Senoia, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; son, Dennis J. Gasaway of Whitesburg and 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; son, Roger C. Gasaway of Hampton, Ga., and 1 granddaughter; son, Charles R. Gasaway (wife, Michelle Gasaway) of Griffin, Ga.; Sister, Inez Tiller of Athens, Ga., and one nephew; sister, Marcelle Carter of Quincy, Illinois, and three nephews; also three nephews who are sons of the late Ruth Phillips and a niece who is the daughter of his late sister Mildred Massengale.

Mr. Howard Wayne Jones Jr. of Senoia, Ga., died Dec. 18, 1997 at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

He was born June 9, 1977 in Milwaukee, WI.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Gay, Ga. The Rev. E. A. Stephens will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Alexander and Rev. Holston. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pall bearers will be Roderick Keith, Aaron Gates, Deon Shropshire, Roderick Mayner and Aries Middlebrooks.

Survivors include son, Montavious Jones of Newnan; mother, Mrs. Pearlie Mae Foster of Griffin, Ga; father, Mr. Howard Wayne Jones Sr., Milwaukee, WI; sisters, Miss Nikida Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney (Nicole) Thrasher, both of Forest Park, Ga., Miss Jackie Jones and Miss Miracle Jones both of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Twan Jones, Milwaukee, WI; grandfathers, Mr. Robert Mayner of Senoia and Mr. Ruben Wayne Jones, Milwaukee WI; two god brothers, Mr. Shun Mayner and Mr. Corey Mayner; five aunts; eight uncles; four great aunts; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
