Mr. Edward H. "Jabo" Strickland
Mr. Edward H. "Jabo" Strickland, 79, of Thomas Powers Rd., Newnan, died Dec. 13, 1997, at Newnan Hospital.
He was born in Carroll County, Ga., on May 15, 1918, the son of the late Amos and Myrtie Harris Strickland. He was a retired auto body repairman with Newnan Ford Company.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Buchanan.
Funeral Services were Monday afternoon at the Martin and Hightower West Center Street Chapel in Carrollton with the Rev. Terry Calhoun and the Rev. Bryan Calhoun officiating. Interment was in Carroll Memory Gardens.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Garrett and Jean Lee, both of Newnan; sister, Nellie Pike of Tampa. Florida; four grandchildren.

Mrs. Macie Stevens Couch
Mrs. Macie Stevens Couch, 82, of Hogansville died Dec. 16, 1997, at Franklin Healthcare Center.
Born June 7, 1915 in Chambers County, Ala., Mrs. Couch was the daughter of the late Mack and Minnie Crisler Stevens. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Miles.
Mrs. Couch was a member of First Baptist Church of Grantville and was retired from Uniroyal Inc.
A service will be at 3 p.m. today at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Carden and the Rev. Bobby Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Grantville Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Couch of Hogansville; sisters, Laura Brown of LaGrange, Ruth Cotney of LaFayette, Ala.; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Eileen Kelly
Mrs. Eileen Kelly, 91, of Lawshe Road in Senoia, Ga. died Dec. 9, 1997, at Newnan Hospital.
Born June 22, 1906 in Athlone, Ireland, Mrs. Kelly was the daughter of the late James Smith and Kate Griffin. She was a homemaker and a member of St. George Catholic Church.
A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Father Leo Herbert officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary McCabe, Patricia Nugent, both of Senoia; sister, Hannah Smith of Ireland; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Girtha Mae Ellis
Mrs. Girtha Mae Ellis, 80, of Sewell Road in Grantville died Dec. 13, 1997, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Born Aug. 14, 1917, Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of the late John and Samantha Hardaway and the wife of the late Calvin Ellis Sr. She was a member of St. Paul CME Church, where she served on the usher board. She also was a member of the American United Release Lodge.
A funeral was conducted Wednesday at St. Paul CME Church with the Rev. Peris Lester officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. Melson and the Rev. J.F. Booker. Interment followed at the church cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include her children, Mr. and Mrs. Willie (Johnnie Mae) Woodard, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin (Juliette) Ellis Jr., Alice Marie Ellis, Earl Ellis, Kenneth Ellis; step-children, Alicestine, Jacqueline, Carlton, Verdell; sisters, Marie Snelson, Mattie Dockery; brothers, James Hardaway, Willie Hardaway; 44 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.

Born April 12, 1925 in Newnan, Mr. Beckom was the son of the late Drew and Cory Beckom. He was a self-employed garage door installer.

Mr. Bryce Alsobrook
Mr. Bryce Alsobrook of Hollis Heights in Newnan died Dec. 18, 1997, at Newnan Hospital.
Bryce Northern Alsobrook was born in Ashland, Alabama Nov. 3, 1907. He was a resident of Newnan for over 50 years.
He was an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as a Trustee of the First United Methodist Church in Newnan. He was a member and officer of the Newnan Rotary Club, a director of the First National Bank in Newnan, and a director of the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturing Asso.
Before his retirement he was a hardwood lumber manufacturer and at various times operated operated mills in Carrollton, Fayetteville, Newnan and Raymond. He was married
to the late Sara King Alsobrook.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Parrish and the Rev. Dan Brewster officiating.
Survivors include his daughter, Julie Alsobrook Jones of Newnan; grandchildren, Sara Kathryn Jones and Carleton and Kristi Jones; great-grandchild, Parker Alsobrook Jones; and a sister, Virginia Hutchinson of LaGrange.

Mr. Brandon Lane Hendry, of Senoia, died Dec. 17, 1997.
Hendry was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mr. Ray Bowman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins and Son Chapel, 431 South West Broad St., Fairburn. The Rev. Ron Whitlock and the Rev. Kendall Hicks will officiate. Interment will be in Senoia City Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 19, 1915, in Douglas County to L. J. Hinesley and Lillie Vaughn Hinesley. She was a retired textile worker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill cemetery in Newnan with the Rev. Melvin Payne officiating.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
