Mrs. Betty Walker, 65, of Peachtree City died July 7, 1997.
Born Dec. 11, 1931, Mrs. Walker was a member of First Baptist Church in Peachtree City.
Funeral services were held July 9 at First Baptist Church in Peachtree City with Dr. Harold Allen officiating. Interment followed at Sharon Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Homer Walker, of Peachtree City; daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Lillian) Fulton of Peachtree City, Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Leslie) Banks of Tyrone; niece, Kelly Parcha of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Joe Fulton, Beth Fulton, Melinda Banks, Delanie Banks; sisters, Mary Lillian Bohn, Antoinette Abshire, both of Roanoke; brother, Thomas Oliver Kellie of Santa Barbara, Calif.; other nieces and nephews.

MR. JULIAN KENNETH BELL
Mr. Julian Kenneth Bell, 61, of Rainwater Road in Senoia died July 6, 1997 in Newnan.
Born July 1, 1936 in Greenville, Mr. Bell was the son of the late Loy A. Bell. A member of Turin Baptist Church, he was retired from Georgia Power.
Funeral services were held July 8 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. John McDuffie II officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Fleming. Interment followed at Turin Memorial Garden.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah R. (Rainwater) Bell of Senoia; mother, Ava Nell (Cook) Bell of Sharpsburg; son, Kenneth Bell of Lawrenceville; daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jamie (Cathy) Walker of Senoia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Allyn (Brenda) Bell of Moreland, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby (Mary Ann) Bell of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Forest (Angelyn) Bell of Newnan; sister and brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bud (Charlene) Carter of Newnan, Mr. and Mrs. Mickey (Marie) Butler; grandchildren, Heather Bell Fish, Sarah Beth Bell, Timmy Walker, Matt Walker, Phillip Walker; and two grandchildren.

MR. JOSEPH ANDREW DENNIS
Mr. Joseph Andrew Dennis, 83, of Palmetto died July 3, 1997 at his home.
A graduate of Palmetto High School and New York Maritime Academy, Mr. Dennis was a chief engineer for Moore-McCormick Steamship Lines before World War Two and was the company's port engineer in San Francisco during the war.
He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine. After the war, he worked for Craig Ship Building in Long Beach, Calif. From 1966 to 1972, Dennis worked under a civil contract to supervise power service to a military base at Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam.
He later was employed by Todd Ship Yards Corporation's Galveston division.
Funeral services were held July 6 at Parrott Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Alexander Dennis of Palmetto; son, Carl Beckman Dennis of Apalachicola, Fla.; daughter, Sarah Louisa Dennis of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and grandson, Riley Morgan Dennis of Apalachicola.

MR. WILLIAM THOMAS 'BILL' DRAKE SR.
Mr. William Thomas "Bill" Drake Sr., 75, of LaGrange died July 5 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Decatur.
Born Nov. 28, 1921 in Carroll County, Mr. Drakes was the son of the late Willie Albert and Annie Lizzie Borders Drake. A member of First Baptist Church, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two and the former owner of Drake Masonry Company. He had worked for Don Evans Ford, Lincoln Mercury and NAPA Auto Parts.
Funeral services were held July 8 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. R.L. Caswell, the Rev. Charles Chapman and Mike Thomaston officiating. Interment followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Drake of LaGrange,; son, William T. Drake Jr. of LaGrange; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia D. and Joel E. Miss Ashley Shea Fitzgerald, 20, died June 29, 1997 in Montgomery, Ala. after an traffic accident.
Miss Fitzgerald was the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Watson and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Brewer Witcher of Newnan
Funeral services were held July 2 at Leak-Memory Chapel with interment following in the Leak-Memory cemetery in Montgomery.

MR. ODIE WILLIAM HANNAH
Mr. Odie William Hannah, 86, of Emmett Young Road in Newnan died July 5, 1997 at Newnan Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1911 in Carroll County, Mr. Hannah was the son of the late Robert Frank Hannah and Ida Elizabeth (Howard) Hannah. He was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church and a retired farmer.
Funeral services were held July 6 at McKoon Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brackman officiating, assisted by the Rev. Patrick Jansen. Interment followed at Southview cemetery in Moreland.
Survivors include his wife, Merle (Truitt) Hannah of Newnan; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Hannah of Newnan, Ruby Hannah, Reba Hannah, both of Carrollton, Emma Wiles of Moreland, Ida Lou Haynes; nieces and nephews.

MRS. BETTY L. HESTER
Mrs. Betty L. Hester, 69, of LaGrange died July 3, 1997 at the Florence Hand Home in LaGrange.
Born Oct. 24, 1927 in Newnan, Mrs. Hester was the daughter of the late John Clark and Myrtle Lee Daughtery Lewis. She was retired from Southern Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She worked at Wal-Mart and the West Georgia Collection Bureau in LaGrange.
Mrs. Hester was a member of East LaGrange Baptist Church and attended Hogansville Church of God.
Funeral services were held July 6 at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home with the Rev. Elvis Hester Jr. and the Rev. Wayne Hester officiating. Interment followed at Meadoway Gardens in LaGrange.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Hester of LaGrange; daughter, Carla Hester of LaGrange; brother, Jim Lewis of Atlanta; nieces and nephews.

MR. H. LAMAR HUMPHRIES JR.
Mr. H. Lamar Humphries Jr., 74, of the St. Marks Community in Meriwether County died July 5, 1997 at his home.
Born Aug. 7, 1922 in Atlanta, Mr. Humphries was the son of the late Harris Lamar Humphries and Helen Briley Humphries. He was retired from Halamar Garment Co. in Sylacauga, Ala.
A member of Union Baptist Church, Mr. Humphries was also a member of Hogansville Masonic Lodge 93 and a former member of Sylacauga Masonic Lodge 200.
Funeral services were held July 7 at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Harris officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Masonic rites and members of Hogansville Masonic Lodge 93 serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife, Cloteal Humphries of St. Marks; sons, Paul W. Humphries of Sylacauga, H.L. Humphries III of Birmingham, Ala.; daughters, Ashley Humphries of Sylacauga, Ann Rutyna of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; step-daughter, Kam Spivey of Sylacauga; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. James D. Magnan, 49, of Adcock Road in Newnan died July 2, 1997 at Peachtree Regional Hospital.
Born in Queens, N.Y., Mr. Magnan was the son of the late Joseph Henry Lucien Magnan and Margaret Sheppard Magnan. He was a cargo agent for Lufthansa Airlines and was a member of Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held July 5 at Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Norris officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Charles P. Moore, Scott Hansen, Sammy Acree, Tony Roberts, Gene Smith and Patrick Winkles serving as pallbearers.

MR. HENRY LEE MORGAN
Mr. Henry Lee Morgan, 85, of Villa Rica died July 5, 1997 at Parkway Medical Center in Lithia Springs.
Born Feb. 16, 1912 in Barrow County, Mr. Morgan was the son of the late Henry Marshall Morgan and Lizzie Mae Christian Morgan. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gloria Spears, brothers, Tommy Morgan, James Morgan, David Morgan, Frank Morgan, and sisters, Inez Dorsey, Vera Wade and Lizzie Matthews.
Mr. Morgan was a self-employed paint contractor and a member of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services were held July 8 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Stephens officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park with Michael Keown Jr., James Morgan, Tommy Morgan, Ronald Morgan, Jimmy Fullerton, Lee Pettis, Jerry Wayne Pettis and Anthony Smith serving as pallbearers.
