MR. ANTHONY HOUSTON
Mr. Anthony Demond Houston of 22 Hannah St., Newnan, passed away July 10, 1997 at LaGrange Hospice.
He was born May 7, 1973, to Mrs. Pamela Lowe and Mr. Terry Houston.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 15, from the Newnan Seventh Day Adventist Church, Yeager Rd., Newnan, with Pastor Godwin Mitchell officiating, assisted by Pastor James Prather and Elder Walter Brown.
Burial was in Eastview Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers were Maurice, Bryan Echols, Jim Holloway Jr., Willie H. Allen, Albert Alexander and Chris Harper.
Survivors include parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lowe (Pamela) and Mr. Terry Houston; sisters, Keisha Lowe, Demetris Lowe and Jeneal Houston; brothers, Terrion L. Walker, Reshad Lowe, Tyrell Houston and Demetrious Gordon; grandparents, Mrs. Willie "Doll" Allen and Mrs. Lizzie N. Giles; six aunts; eight uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

MR. WILLIAM KEE
Mr. William Kee, 76, of 3 Pratt St., Newnan, passed away July 6, 1997, at Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Kee was born December 16, 1920, in Brooklyn, New York. He was married
to Mrs. Lizzie West Kee in 1969 and moved to Coweta County in 1977. He was employed with the Coweta County Board of Education, from which he retired.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11, from the Sellers-Smith R. W. S. Memorial Chapel. Father Leo Herbert of St. George Catholic Church officiated. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery.
Serving as casketbearers were friends of the family.
Survivors include wife, Mrs. Lizzie West Kee; son, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Durant (Barbara) of Brooklyn, New York; grandchildren, Melissa and Dorothy Durant; great-grandchild, Kennedy Ann Contrerous; two nieces and two nephews.

MR. DAVE T. LOOMIS
Mr. David Theodore Loomis, 77, of Camelia Circle, Newnan, died July 3, 1997 at Columbia Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.
Graveside services were held the afternoon of July 5, 1997, with interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. Father Hendree Harrison officiated.
Dave T. Loomis was born June 17, 1920 in New York, New York, the son of the late David Loomis and the late Ursula Strait Loomis. He was married
to the late Mary Frances Wallace Loomis.
He came to work with Georgia Power Company Sept. 19, 1949, as an apprentice electrician at Plant Mitchell in Albany. He was promoted to electrician in August 1950. Throughout the 1950s, Mr. Loomis was promoted to apprentice mechanic, assistant master mechanic, and master mechanic, working his way up the Georgia Power ladder. He became assistant plant superintendent and eventually was promoted to plant superintendent in 1963.
Mr. Loomis transferred to Plant Yates in June of 1970, soon after he was made plant manager. Construction began in the early 1970s to increase power production by 700 megawatts. This was accomplished with the start-up of units 6 and 7 which more than doubled Plant Yates' megawatt output. Mr. Dave T. Loomis retired from Georgia Power in 1981.
A veteran, Mr. Loomis served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and received the distinguished flying cross - having flown over 50 missions over Europe.
Mr. Loomis was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Newnan, where he was a junior warden emeritus. He was also a member of Newnan Country Club and Radium Springs Country Club.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Don Balderson of Summerville, South Carolina; grandsons, Donald P. Balderson Jr. and David W. Balderson, of Summerville.
The family requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

MRS. ROBYN H. MOON
Mrs. Robyn Hanson Moon, 40, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, July 11, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Tommy McLeroy officiated, and interment was in Myrtle Hill cemetery in Hogansville.
Mrs. Moon was born January 10, 1957, in Newnan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Hanson. She lived in Hogansville most of her life and was a 1975 graduate of Hogansville High School. She was a bus driver for the Troup County School System and was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Moon of Hogansville; sons, Richard L. Moon Jr., Joshua Moon and Aaron Moon, all of Hogansville; mother, Mrs. Dora Smallwood Hanson, also of Hogansville; sister, Mrs. Bea Stigall of Orlando, Florida; and a special friend, Mrs. Deana Dykes of Beulah, Alabama.

MRS. JOYCE GRIMES RAINEY
Mrs. Joyce Grimes Rainey, 60, of Newnan, died July 10, 1997, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Mrs. Rainey was born Oct. 7, 1936 in Miller County. She was retired from Civil Service.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, July 13, at the chapel of Colquitt Funeral Home in Colquitt, Ga. Interment was in the city cemetery. The Rev. Walter Daniels and the Rev. Max Parris officiated.
Pallbearers were Joel Grimes, Scott Grimes, Gerald Thompson, Clinton Thompson, Carroll Middleton and Louie Grimes.
Survivors include her husband, Glen A. Rainey of Newnan; son, Glen A. Rainey Jr. of Newnan; brother, Buddy Grimes of Colquitt; and a number of nieces and nephews.

MRS. SHIRLEY ANN ROETMAN
Mrs. Shirley Ann Roetman, 59, of Sharpsburg, Ga., passed away on July 11, 1997, from complications of scleroderma.
Mrs. Roetman is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ryland Roetman Sr. of Sharpsburg, Ga. She is also survived by her three sons, Ryland Jr., Colin and Brett, and foster daughter Laura Hendrickson; parents, Louis and Edna Bowen; brother, Arlo, and two sisters, Judy Brethawer and Kathy Hicks; 14 grandchildren and many more who called her mom.
Memorial services were held in Newnan, Ga. on July 13, 1977. A second service will be held in Manville, Wyoming on Thursday, July 17, 1997 at 2 p.m. in the Manville Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Roetman's name to the Scleroderma Foundation, 1 Newbury St., Peabody, MA 01960.

MRS. NAOMI CELESTE SMITH
Mrs. Naomi Celeste Smith, 80, of Franklin, Ga., in Heard County, died Friday, July 11, 1997, at Columbia Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan.
Mrs. Smith was born July 18, 1916 in Gilmer County, Ga., daughter of Francis Abraham Weaver and Rosa Ralston Weaver. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Sargent Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was retired and had been employed as a textile worker with Bibb Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Louis Smith; and children Roy Leon Smith, Dale Smith Painter, Harold Howard Smith, and Mary Frances Smith.
Funeral services were held at Sargent Baptist Church Monday afternoon, July 14, with the Rev. Travis Eidson officiating, assisted by Brother Harry White. Burial was in Sargent Cemetery.
Survivors include daughter, Mrs. Joyce Phillips of Newnan; sons, Lester Huey "Cotton" Smith of Newnan and Duran Edwin Smith of Chatsworth, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren; son-in-law George Painter of Centralhatchee, Ga.; daughter-in-law Edna Painter Smith.

MR. WILLIAM HENRY "DUB" TURNER
Mr. William Henry "Dub" Turner, 78, of Welcome Rd., Newnan, died Saturday, July 12, 1997, at West Georgia Medical Center.
Born March 24, 1919 in Coweta County, Mr. Turner was the son of the late Henry Turner and the late Savannah White Turner. He was a member of the Baptist faith. A veteran, he served in the Air Force; and he was retired from the Bibb Co. textile firm.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 14, at the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home on Jackson Street in Newnan. The Rev. Howard Scarborough officiated, assisted by the Rev. Joe Storey. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Newman Turner of Newnan; daughters, Elaine Turner Moore of Hartsville, Tennessee, and Angeline Turner Bishop of Birmingham, Alabama; sons, Peter Turner, Mike Turner and Gerald Turner, all of Newnan; sister, Charlotte Butts, of Newnan; brother, Ross Turner, of Newnan; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

MR. ALFORD L. COLE
Mr. Alford L. Cole, 80, of Hogansville died July 6, 1997 at his home.
Born Nov. 2, 1916 in Meriwether County, Mr. Cole was the son of the late Alfred and Mattie Grant Cole. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hogansville and was a retired chemist.
A memorial service was held July 8 at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Ritter officiating. Interment followed at the Grantville Cemetery.
Survivors include his step-daughter, Sandra Cagle of Canton; step-sister, Vivian Staley of Newnan; a step-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

DR. THOMAS SARGENT PARROTT III
Dr. Thomas Sargent Parrott III, 54, of Atlanta died July 7, 1997 at Georgia Baptist Medical Center.
Originally from Newnan, Dr. Parrott was a graduate of Emory University and Emory University School of Medicine. He received his post-graduate training in urology at the Emory-affiliated hospitals and received further training in pediatric urology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and Egleston Hospital in Atlanta.
Dr. Parrott was a member of the Society for Pediatric Urology and the Urologic Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He served as a visiting professor at several hospitals and universities, including Babies Hospital at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, the Sarah Kubitshek Institute in Brasilia, Brazil, the Hospital for Sick Children in London, and the Medical College of Ohio.
Dr. Parrott was a visiting surgeon at the surgical Aid to Children of the World in Budapest, Hungary and wrote more than 50 articles published in scientific journals.
Dr. Parrott started practicing urology in Atlanta in 1977. Originally, he was associated with the Emory Clinic and later relocated to Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center, where he founded the pediatric urology program. At the time of his death, he served as director of pediatric urology residency training.
A motorcycle enthusiast, Dr. Parrott founded and sponsored the DESMO racing team, which, with David Sadowski as its rider, competed across the country against factory-sponsored teams.
Funeral services were held July 10 at St. James Episcopal Church in Marietta.
Survivors include his wife, Laine; children, Melissa K. Parrott, Stacey C. Parrott Stevens, Tom F. Parrott; mother, Ann Glover Parrott of Newnan; and sister, Rebecca Knight P. Flask of Fairfax Station, Va.
