Bennett Lappin
Infant Bennett Lappin, age 1 week, of Locust Grove, Georgia died October 25, 2007. He was born
in Riverdale on October 17, 2007 to Lukas Grant Lappin and Jennifer Anne Barber.
In addition to his parents Bennett is survived by his brother, Gage Hunter Lappin; sister, Taylor Renee Lappin, all of Locust Grove; grandparents, Karen C. Karr of Locust Grove, Steve Lappin of Lake Mary, Florida, Donald Barber of Oviedo, Florida, Holly Barber of Oviedo, Florida, Kimberly Lappin of Lake Mary , Florida, Richard Karr of Jackson; great-grandparents, Edwina Carlton of Frankfort, Indiana, Carlen Lappin of Deltona, Florida, Robert Greene of Attleboro, Massachusetts; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Betty Quay
Betty Quay, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia died October 26, 2007. She was born
in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Alma Graham Tucker. Mr. and Mrs. Quay were married
at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky 45 years ago. She retired from Georgia Building Authority where she worked as a security guard for 14 years.
Mrs. Quay is survived by her husband, Hubert Eugene Quay, McDonough, neighbors and friends, Chris and Linda Scandrett.

Carmen Dale Bass
Miss Carmen Dale Bass, age 21, of McDonough, Georgia died October 27, 2007. Carmen was born
in Fulton County, she was a member of McDonough Presbyterian Church, and a senior at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville majoring in middle grades education because of her love for children. Carmen had a love of life that inspired all around her to be happy. Her fun-loving, easy-going spirit, along with her heart of gold, brought joy to all who knew her. So many have said “she made us laugh”. She was a ray of sunshine that lit up a room, and the love and laughter she shared with her friends and family will be in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard and Thelma Bass.
Survivors are her parents, Richard and Joan Bass of McDonough; sisters, Shannon Bass and Sharon Bass of McDonough and Kathryn Bass of Stockbridge; niece, Tristin Waldour of Stockbridge who called Carmen “Car Car”; grandparents, A.W. and Betty Jean Walker of McDonough; aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
Services for Carmen are on October 31 at 2:00 p.m. at McDonough Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Wilder and Rev. Dudley Rose officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Newt James Casey
Mr. Newt James Casey, age 64, of McDonough, Georgia died October 28, 2007. He was born
in Hall County the son of the late Newt Jasper and Bernice Frances Veal Casey. He served his country in the United States Navy; was retired after over 20 years with Delta Airlines; was owner/operator of Casey’s Lawn Service; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Kelly and Trey Herring and Abby Casey; granddaughter, Eiligh Herring; sisters and brother, Linda Byrd, Nancy Alford and Rudy Casey.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. from Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family, Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Elton Cornell
Mr. Kenneth Elton Cornell, Jr., age 79, of Locust Grove, Georgia died October 29, 2007. Mr. Cornell was born
in Mountain View to the late Kenneth Elton Cornell, Sr. and Jessie Gaddis Cornell. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. Mr. Cornell’s sister, Linda DeLong, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; Eunice Florine Jennings Cornell; children, Eddie and Rocky Cornell and Donnie and Brenda Cornell of Milner, Rita Cornell of Locust Grove, Alan and Sandy Cornell of Hampton, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, sister, Betty Higginbotham and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Cornell will be held Friday, November 2 at 3:00 p.m. at My Father’s House Church of God, 210 Central Lake Circle, Griffin, GA 30223 with Pastor Steve Newman officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Trent Pyles
Trent Pyles, age 16, of McDonough, Georgia died October 4, 2007. Trent was born
in Stockbridge on March 28, 1991. He enjoyed basketball, soccer, fishing, going muddin, shooting pool, and hanging out with his buddies and his girlfriend.
Trent is survived by mother, Rebecca Lynne and John deVente of McDonough, father, Bryon Keith Pyles; grandparents, Frank and LaRue Pyles, Sherry and Dan Jones, all of Locust Grove, Wayne & Wilma Thompson of Cleveland, Tennessee, Kees and Phyllis deVente of Acworth; great grandparents, William O'Connor of McDonough, Gladys Thompson of Jackson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Borita Daniel
Borita Daniel, age 70, of Stockbridge, Georgia died October 6, 2007. She was born
in Atlanta, the daughter of the late James Forney and Roxie Irene Hughie Daniel. She was a member of The Tabernacle and was a person who would help anybody. Most important to her were her daughter and grandsons.
Ms. Daniel is survived by daughter, Michele and Steve Webb of Stockbridge; grandsons, Jason Michael and Nicole Webb, Justin Stephen Webb; siblings, Mary Harrod of Gainesville, Robert and Betty Daniel of Rome, June Fairchild of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Karen Daniel; and a large extended family.
