Melody Ann Ivie
Melody Ann Ivie, age 46, of Jackson, Georgia died November 2, 2007. She was born
in Cleveland, Ohio daughter of the late Phil Roberts and Ann McGrew Bruce. She served numerous short term mission trips to many places throughout the world teaching the Word of God. She was a Sunday School teacher and directed the altar team at Joshua's Place. She taught the missions aspect of the Journey group. She was a past member of Prospect United Methodist Church and proudly served the church. Her main emphasis was studying and teaching the Word of God. Her friend and pastor of many years, Pastor Doyle Daugherty says "In ministry around the world I have literally met many thousands of people, but Melody Ivie was one of the most dedicated, dynamic persons that I have ever met. The Bible says the wise Men followed the star to find Jesus, Melody was a bright light who led many to find Christ." She was preceded in death by her sons, Noah Christopher and Alex Ivie.
Mrs Ivie is survived by husband Carl L. Ivie, her daughter, Carly Meagan Ivie, her mother Ann McGrew Bruce all of Stockbridge; stepchildren, Tara Michelle (Doug) Seay of Stockbridge, Tammy Sheree Wright of Kingston, and Carl Mitchell (Debbie) Ivie of Cartersville; her sisters, Debbie Medert of Griffin, and Tracy Roberts of Chicago, Illinois; grandmother, Helen Roberts of Oregon, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held November 5 at Joshua’s Place in Jackson, with Pastor Rick Moncriff, Minister Kenneth Corley, and Pastor Doyle Daughtery officiating. Louise Laughlin
Louise Laughlin, age 92, of Stockbridge, Georgia died, November 3, 2007. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Laughlin is survived by children, Evelyn (Loyal) Clay, of McDonough, Sandra (Tom) Murphy of Rex, Becky (Leon) Howell of McDonough; step-children, Eleanor Horton of Cumming, Bob Laughlin of Seattle, Washington and Don Laughlin of Powder Springs; siblings, Virginia Sheppard of Loganville, Rose Dutton of Vista, California, Gus Merck of Stone Mountain; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Eugene Laughlin and children Eleanor Lynch, Jack Worthey and Jerry Worthey.

Nancy Elaine Griffis Porter
Ms. Nancy Elaine Griffis Porter, age 46, of Dallas, Georgia died November 4, 2007. She was born
in Wayne County. She was employed with the US Postal Service for 19 years. Nancy was a loving, caring, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her father, William F. (Billy) Griffis, Jr.
Survivors are her daughter, Anna Kay Porter of Dallas; mother, Jeanette G. Griffis of Stockbridge; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Donald Ham of Stockbridge; niece and nephew, Patrick and Lydia Ham; step-son, Anthony Brewer of Powder Springs; numerous aunts and uncles; and special friend, Amy Tidwell of Dallas, Georgia.
Services were held November 5 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough with Rev. James West officiating. Graveside service was held November 6 at Screven City Cemetery

Millie McKee
Millie McKee, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia died November 5, 2007. She was born
in Birmingham, Alabama daughter of the late Jesse David and Elizabeth Berry Robinson. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Mrs. McKee is survived by her husband, Allen Vernon McKee of McDonough; sons, David (Cindi) McKee of Stockbridge, Mark (Marlene) McKee of McDonough; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Martha Rowan Stensrud
Martha Rowan Stensrud, age 74, of Temple, Texas died October 9, 2007. She was born
in McDonough, Georgia to the late Henry and Lois Brannan Rowan. Martha graduated from McDonough High School in 1950 and served our country with the United States Air Force.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert J. Stensrud; daughter, Lori Swinney Storts; sister, Virginia R. Kelley; brothers, Julian Rowan and Bob Rowan.
Mrs. Stensrud is survived by daughter, Lisa Swinney Hirschi and husband, Dave of Austin, Texas ; brothers, Joel Rowan of Stockbridge, Gerald Rowan of Jacksonville, Florida, Richard Rowan of Griffin; grandchildren, Amie Storts Torralva and husband Joe and Randee Storts all of San Antonio, Texas ; Ben Storts and wife, Adriana and Joel Casey Storts all of Del Rio, Texas , and Kiah Swinney of Austin, Texas ; four great grandchildren, Abraham and Andrea Torralva, Prasaus and Zephyr Storts; step children, Bryan Stensrud, Bob Stensrud, Nancy Stensrud Cole and Beth Stensrud Hansen, all of San Antonio, Texas .

John Freeman Chastine
Mr. John Freeman Chastine, age 88, of McDonough, Georgia died October 24, 2007. Mr. Chastine was born
in Cornelia the son of the late Lula Pearl Wilbanks and Clarence Lester Chastine. Mr. Chastine was a member of Henry Baptist Church; he retired from Southern Railroad as a Terminal Train Master, he was a decorated WWII Navy veteran and a Mason. Brothers, J.V. Chastine and Hubert Chastine preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Crumbley Chastine of McDon-ough; sons and daughters-in-law: Ronald and Helen Chastine of Seminole, Oklahoma, John and Linda Chastine of Amelia Island, Florida and Raleigh and Pat
Chastine of Snellville, GA; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brothers, Aaron Chastine of Charlotte, North Carolina and Delano Chastine of Fayetteville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Priscilla Ann Payne George
Mrs. Priscilla Ann Payne “Pat” George, age 66, of Stockbridge, Georgia died October 25, 2007. Mrs. George was born
in Newton County the daughter of the late Flosie Louise Kimball and Bonnie Lee Payne. She was self-employed as a seamstress, she enjoyed riding the Harley Davidson Bike with Jimmy, reading, working crossword puzzles and her cats, which she called her “babies”.
Survivors are her husband, Jimmy K. George of Stockbridge; children, Kelly, Kerry and Kitty; grandchildren, Kenneth, Cory, and Kevin; great grandchildren, Addison and Caleb; brothers, John and Jerry Payne.
Services for Mrs. George were held October 28 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Donald George officiating. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens.
