Talmadge Roy Foster in December of 1943 and began married
life as a typical WWII couple with Tal serving his country in the Army Air Force and Elizabeth staying behind at home. The end of the war marked the beginning of their family. They were blessed to have four children, three boys and one girl. Elizabeth, known as “Lit” to her friends and family, was a devoted wife and mother. Once her children were in school she began her work career by feeding many grateful people as the lunchroom manager at McDonough Elementary. Many friends and family were known to drop by around lunchtime in anticipation of the invitation to stay that was sure to be extended. We hardly knew how much she was nourishing our souls as she nourished our bodies. She and her husband were members of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Elizabeth served as church treasurer, chair of the United Methodist Women and was in charge of the cemetery.
