Essie Lee Johnson Mosley, 90

Essie Lee Johnson Mosley, 90, of Jesup, died Sunday, October 10, 2010, at her residence after an extended illness. The Wayne County native was a homemaker. She was the widow of C.F. Mosley, and was predeceased by a son, Harold O. Mosley.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruthie (Francis) Corry of Jesup, and Pauline Crews of Nahunta; two sons, Wilbur Mosley of Jesup and Gene (Marjorie) Mosley of Oxnard, CA; a brother, Freddie Johnson of Lyons; two sisters, Frances Powell and Betty Jean Wilson, both of Reidsville; nine grandchildren, several great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, October 13, 2010, from the Spring Grove cemetery with Rev. Ray Worley officiating.
The Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup, was in charge of the arrangements.

Joyce Scott Crenshaw, 61

Joyce Scott Crenshaw, 61, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010, at her home following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late William Grady Scott and the late Georgia Scott. A native of Emanuel County, she had moved to the Evans - Tattnall County area in 2001. She was a baptized Jehovah’s Witness. She had over 30 years experience with the newspaper industry, working with the Statesboro Herald, the Swainsboro Forest - Blade, the Claxton Enterprise, the Metter Advertiser, and the Press and Standard of Walterboro, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry James Crenshaw and a daughter, Jennifer LaNell Crenshaw.
Surviving are two daughters and sons - in - law, AnJeanette and Chris Conley of Register and Jerri and John Rush of Reidsville; a son and daughter - in - law, James and Bettina Crenshaw of Reidsville; a brother, Charles Scott of Register; seven grandchildren, Shonda and Shanna Murphy of Register, Aaron and Catie Conley of Wisconsin and Connor Conley of Register, Johnathan and Tobias Rush of Reidsville; numerous other friends and relatives.
A memorial service will be held at the Reidsville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Saturday, October 16, at 3 p.m. Services will be officiated by Johnny Pierce of Reidsville.
Thomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Katie Kirkland, age 94

Mrs. Katie Kirkland, age 94, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October, 7, 2010.
Mrs. Kirkland was a native of Waycross, GA but had lived in Reidsville for the approximately 50 years. She was a member of Elza Baptist Church of Reidsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. B.B. Kirkland in August 1991, and three children, Clifford, Richard and Sheila Kay Kirkland.
She is survived by two daughters, Katie Elizabeth Johnson and Barbara Anne (John) McGarity both of Lyons; two sisters, Merle Lightsey and Earnestine Lightsey, both of South Carolina; sister - in - law, Ms. Mayvis Kirkland of Waycross; 13 grandchildren, Mike (Kelly) Padgett, Kim (Ben) Sanders, Billy (Lisa)Warren, Ben (Leann) Warren, Bobby (Rebecka) Warren, Gene Kirkland, Art (Cynda) Kirkland, Tony Kirkland, Brad Kirkland, Ricky Kirkland, Debra Kirkland, Brad Kirkland and Sheila Kay (Keith) Perry; 21 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 9, 2010, from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Andrew Nelms officiating. Interment followed in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Deborah Coleman Knight, 55

Funeral Services for Mrs. Deborah Coleman Knight, 55, of Duncan Road, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest October 10, 2010, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Posey Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Barry Antley officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Knight was a native of Cobbtown, having made North Augusta her home for the past 19 years. She was a kind and caring person who always worked to help others and gave of her time and talents to benefit those around her. Mrs. Knight was an active supporter of Midland Valley Athletics and was a member of Connors Baptist Church, Cobbtown.
Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Richard Knight; a son, Christopher Knight, Allendale, SC; a daughter and son - in - law, Tiffany and Tim Walker, Lexington, SC; two sisters and brothers - in - law, June and David DeLoach, Bellville, GA and Joyce and Leonard Collins, Hilton Head Island, SC; three grandchildren, Thomas Walker, Tyler Walker and Tanner Walker; two nephews, Grant DeLoach and Clay Collins; a niece, Dana Meyer; her father - in - law, Clyde Knight; a brother - in - law and his wife, Michael and Debbie Knight.
Pallbearers were Marty Harper, Ted Pennington, Brandon Pennington, Michael Knight, Clay Collins and Grant DeLoach.

Robert Lanier Moody, 66

Robert Lanier Moody, 66, died Thursday, October 7, 2010, at his residence in Statesboro. The Chatham County native had lived in this area most of his life. He was a General Manager for Rentown and was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran. Survivors include his children, Charmion Moody Geiger of Orange Park, FL, and Marlon Duane Moody of Brunswick; parents, Juanita and Marlon Moody of Glennville; sister, Sandra Moody Kisz of Tampa, FL; brother, Wayne Moody of Reidsville; grandchildren, Ashley Geiger Burns, Ryan Matthew Geiger, and Kayley Nicole Geiger.
Funeral Services were held Monday, October 11, 2010, at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Padgett, Danny Anderson, James Padgett, Johnny Kicklighter, Randall Kicklighter, and Michael Kicklighter.

Tonya Hodges Myers, 40

Tonya Hodges Myers, age 40, passed away Thursday October 7, 2010, at her residence.
The Bulloch County native had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and attended Come As You Are Ministries.
She is survived by her husband, Troy Myers of Reidsville; three daughters, Kelly Myers, Courtney Hendrix, and Whitney Waters all of Reidsville; a son, D.J. Allison of Reidsville; sister, Tina Durrence of Moltrie; brother, Tony Durrence of Ellabelle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 11, 2010, from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverends Tom and Janet Elliott officiating.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel, served the Myers family.

Dorothy Ruth Bradham Oliver, 78

Dorothy Ruth Bradham Oliver, 78, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at her home under the loving care of her family and Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native of Long County had lived in Albany and Cordele before moving back to the Cobbtown area in 2004. Mrs. Dorothy was a homemaker, seamstress, enjoyed working in her garden especially her daylilies. She was a member of Hillside Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold Oliver of Cobbtown; children, Gene (Judy) Oliver of Guyton, Irma (Cecil) Jones of Dillon, Montana; grandchildren, Kelley, Clayton and Katie.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 1, at 11 a.m., at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Kennedy - Morgan - Brannen Funeral Home, Metter Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Louise Creech Rogers, 85

Louise Creech Rogers, 85, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton. The South Carolina native had lived in this area most of her life. She was employed with Murcel Manufacturing Company for over 30 years and was a well - known seamstress. She was a member of Ella Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Quinn and Lucy Hutto Creech and a sister, Eloise Creech.
Survivors include her husband, Azeph D. Rogers of Glennville; children, Azeph “Danny” Rogers Jr. (Betty) of Statesboro, Jeanette Warren (Ed) of Stillmore, Teresa Kennedy (Larry) of Bellville; sister, Lois Ray of Glennville; brother, Joe Creech of Statesboro; seven grandchildren and 16 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 9, 2010, from the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Brooks and Rev. Joe Eason officiating. Burial followed in Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie McCall, Greg Durrence, Roger Sands, Mark Thompson, John Thompson, Dr. Paul Thompson and Kenny Sands. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Adult Sunday School Class of Ella Grove Baptist Church and Jackie Dasher.

Regulo Sanchez, 53

Regulo Sanchez, age 53, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at his residence under the care of his family and Serenity Hospice. Mr. Sanchez had lived in Glennville for the past 17 years and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of the Sandhills.
He is survived by his wife, Sofia Sanchez of Glennville; son, Ignacio Sanchez of Glennville; daughter, Nereida Sanchez of Glennville; grandchildren, Elnathan Sanchez, Rutzury Sanchez, and Gerelan Martinez. He is also survived by his parents and his siblings of Mexico.
Visitation will begin 10:00 am Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel.
Funeral Services will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, October 8, 2010, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Bob Poandl officiating.
Interment will follow at Glennville Memorial Gardens.

Randy L. Carnes, 55

Randy L. Carnes, 55, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro after a short illness. The Evans County native had lived in this area most of his life. He was employed by Cowart Logging as a truck driver and was an avid outdoorsmen.
He is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Annie Bell and Ed Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Todd Carnes of Glennville; children, Mandy Marsh and Wesley Carnes both of Glennville, Chelsy Carnes and Erin Carnes both of Statesboro, Kathy Gaddis of Arkansas and Sarah May and Maggie May both of Glennville, brothers and sisters, Allen Carnes and Teresa Dukes both of Collins, Shane Dukes, Sheila Thompson and Joanna Thompson all of Claxton; six grandchildren, Ryan Marsh, Layton Bacon, Mason Bacon, Margo Gaddis, Liam Gaddis, Sonri Gaddis, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Cornerstone Bible Church with Rev. Robert Ferrell officiating. Burial was private.
Pallbearers were Allen Carnes, Nicholas Anderson, Shane Dukes, Dan Rogers, Tommy Wall and Brad Rogers.
