in Abilene, Texas , on September 22, 1949. Mrs. Bullard retired as a realtor.
Mrs. Bullard-Griswold is survived by her husband, Joe Griswold; children, Glendon Bullard, Michael Bullard, and Christina Smith, all of Hampton; brother, Henry Hayes, Zebulon; and 7 grandchildren.

Clarence Byrd Farmer
Clarence Byrd Farmer, age 62 of Locust Grove, Georgia, died November 14, 2009. He was born
in Fulton County to the late Emory Oakland and Mollie Grace Stephens Farmer. He attended Walton County High School and enjoyed his motorcycle, woodworking and SciFi movies. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors are his children, Wendy Farmer of Locust Grove, Deanna (Mike) Burson of West Point and Eric (Marisa) Farmer of Fayetteville; brother, Rodney (Betty) Farmer of Monroe; 4 grandchildren.

Gladys Hargis
Gladys Hargis, age 85, of McDonough, Georgia, died October 25, 2009. She was born
in Newton County to the late Augustus and Mary Johnson Byrd. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Hargis, Jr. Mrs. Hargis retired from the Atlanta Gas Light Company after 25 years of service. She loved cooking for her family and listening to music.
Mrs. Hargis is survived by her children, Ann (George) Earnhart, McDonough, Tom (Linda) Hargis, Roswell, and Melody (Hal) Mann, Jonesboro; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Billy Steele
Billy Steele, age 86, of McDonough, Georgia died October 26, 2009. He was born
in McDonough to the late Edgar and Minnie Leona Elliott Steele. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Helen Steele. Mr. Steele was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He served our country with the United States Army during WWII.
Mr. Steele is survived by his wife, Hannah Steele, McDonough; son, Charles Eugene Steele, Lawrenceville; 7 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Wesley Steele, McDonough; and several nieces and nephews.

Brian N. Herring
Deputy Brian N. Herring, age 30, of McDonough, Georgia, died October 26, 2009. Brian was born
in Fulton County and graduated from Henry County High School in 1997. After attending Gordon College for two years, Brian became a Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy. He enjoyed tennis, golfing and his job.
Survivors include his parents, Dennis and Dawn Herring of McDonough; brother, David (Amanda) Herring of Douglasville; grandmother, Mary Herring of Carrollton; uncles and aunts, Gary and Kay Herring of Roopville, Mark and Pam Her-ring of Carrollton, Sally and Frankie Jordan of Brandon, Florida.
A memorial service for Brian was conducted on October 28 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Chaplain Reed Benson officiating. Dorothy Ann Watkins Henderson
Mrs. Dorothy Ann Watkins Henderson, age 77, of McDonough, Georgia, died October 27, 2009. Mrs. Henderson was born
in Meridian, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Carmen Lucille Miles and Harold Arthur Watkins. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time and doing for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Henderson was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, W. J. “Billy” Henderson of McDonough; children, Ginger Wilson of McDonough and Melanie and Bill Ullrich of McDonough; grandchildren, Todd Wascom of Smyrna, Tim Wascom of McDonough, Jeremy and Jesse Wilson of McDonough; great grandchildren, Tylar, Lyndsey, Jackson, Amelia, and Andrew Wascom; sisters, Joyce Warren of Meridian, Mississippi and Leta Hatcher of Jacksonville, Florida; sister-in-law, Mary Cumberland of Meridian, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Springfield
Robert (Bob) Springfield, age 79, of Stockbridge, Georgia, died October 30, 2009. Mr. Springfield was born
in Atlanta to the late Bailey and Eva Springfield. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired as an Assistant Supervisor from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 27 years of dedicated service. Mr. Spring-field was a member of the Owl Club at West Fulton High School. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Springfield is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat Springfield of Stockbridge; daughter and son in-law, Connie and Bernard Wind of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandson, Max Wind; special friends, Terri and John Blain of Stockbridge and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
