Nadine Kicklighter, 88

Nadine Kicklighter, 88, passed away Friday, June 8, 2007, at Candler Hospital in Savannah. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of her life. She was a homemaker, a member of Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as church pianist for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Church Circle, a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and Sunday School Teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Kicklighter, S and a foster son, Dean Kicklighter.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Brian Kicklighter, of Sylvania and Karen K. Barber of Rincon; sister Ava Jean Lightsey of Claxton; seven great - grandchildren, five great - great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 11, 2007, at Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Summerford officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Rogers, Scott Rogers, Tommy Rogers, Charlie Kicklighter, Hal Powell and Tommy Strickland.
Remembrances may be made to Beards Creek Church cemetery Fund @ Pat Patterson, P.O. Box 786, Glennville, GA 30427.

Winton Lynn, 76

Winton Lynn, 76, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Civil Service at Ft. Stewart. He attended Calvary Baptist and Stoney Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Letha Byrum, Mae Belle Kicklighter, Ora Belle Blocker, and Evelyn Lynn, all of Glennville; brother, Earl Lynn of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 9, 2007, in the chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Reverend Harris Nix officiating. Burial followed in the Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Ray, Jimmy Bargeron, Robert Greeno, Ricky Lynn, Murray Benefield and James McDaniel.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Keiondray J. Marshall, infant

Keiondray J. Marshall, infant son of Jennifer Graham and Keith Marshall, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Memorial Health University Center.
Other survivors include maternal grandparents, Wendy and Timmy Graham of Glennville, maternal great - grandmother Virginia Boone of Glennville and paternal grandparents, George and Bernice Patterson of Beaufort, SC.; two brothers, three sisters, several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church cemetery with Reverend Bryan Anderson officiating.
Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Datie Lois “Lucy” Moody, 86

Datie Lois “Lucy” Moody, 86, died Friday in Savannah.
Mrs. Moody was a native of Collins and moved to Savannah in 1951. She was a homemaker and an active member of the East Savannah Church of God.
She is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Herman T. and Susan Moody of Claxton; daughters and son - in - law, Vicki Lewis, Bonnaire “Peachy” and William E. Ginn, all of Savannah; sister, Navis “Babe” Oliver of Collins; seven grandsons and six great - grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moody were conducted Monday at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Reverend Jim Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Collins Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.

Regina Abigail Gonzalez, infant

Infant Regina Abigail Gonzalez, two weeks old, passed away Friday afternoon, June 1, 2007. She is survived by her parents, Jose and Erika Gonzalez of Reidsville; a brother, Victor Manuel Gonzalez of Reidsville; maternal grandparents, Magdaleno and Maria Estrada of Reidsville; paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Antonia Gonzalez of Reidsville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers were Jose Gonzalez and Magdaleno Estrada.
Funeral Mass was held on Monday, June 4, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church with Father Angel officiating. Interment followed in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Wilma J. Oliver Deal, 71

Richard Matthew Bartley, 24, died at his residence Saturday, July 21, 2007. He was a native of Lake City, FL, having lived the past 19 years in Glennville. He was a member of Penobscot Indian Nation of Indian Island, ME. Matthew worked as a carpenter and in lawn maintenance. He was an avid fisherman and attended Little Rock Baptist Church in Glennville. Matthew had an outgoing sense of humor and loved everyone.
He is preceded in death by two grandfathers, Charlie Bartley and Carl G. Merritt Sr.
Survivors are his parents, Carl and Colleen Merritt of Glennville; one sister, Melissa Bartley of Glennville; three brothers, Branden Merritt and Anthony Merritt, both of Glennville and Nicholas Bartley of Chesterville, PA; grandparents, Curtis and Patricia Johnson of Glennville and Marge Bartley of Live Oak, FL; his father, Richard Bartley of Pennsylvania; two uncles Robert Bartley of Live Oak, FL and Kenneth Bartley of Texas and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26, 2007, at the Little Rock Baptist Church in Glennville. Reverend Bryan Anderson officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Carter Funeral Home of Glennville was in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Belfield Sr., 56

Charles Belfield Sr., age 56, died Saturday, July 14, 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Belfield; children, Charles Jr., Wayne, Andrea, Erik, Shirley, Teresa, Erica, LaToya and Mignon. Funeral services were held on July 24, 2007 at Glennville Memorial Garden cemetery in Glennville, GA.
Harpers Funeral Home of Claxton was in charge of the arrangements.

George Leonard Dansen Sr., 87

George Leonard Dansen Sr., age 87, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of New Jersey, having lived the past 18 years in Glennville. Mr. Dansen was a U.S. Navy veteran and was an excavating contractor by trade. He loved his family and his hobby was woodworks.
Mr. Dansen is survived by his lovely wife of 67 years; Rose Hannam Dansen of Glennville; sons, George L. Dansen Jr. of Rochelle Park, NJ and Richard W. Dansen Sr. of Bushkill, PA; daughter, Roseann Mestell of Ringwood, NJ; brother, Peter Dansen of Diamond Point, NY; seven grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were private.
Carter Funeral Chapel of Glennville was in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Asa Duncan, 84

Robert Asa Duncan, age 84, went to the Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Coastal Manor Nursing Home. Robert was born February 14, 1923 in Bowman, GA. He was a resident of Palm Harbor, FL, for 51 years before moving to Ludowici several years ago. He was retired from Clearwater Concrete Industries, Inc. after 40 years of loyal and faithful service. He was the superintendent over all rolling equipment and plant operations. He and his family are charter members of Berea Baptist Church in Palm Harbor, FL. He was instrumental from groundbreaking to the completion of the church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Georgia Duncan and brother, James L. Duncan.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois H. Duncan of Ludowici; daughter and son - in - law, Laynette and Roy Ferguson of Ludowici; sons and daughters - in - law, Lacy and Eloise Duncan and Joseph Duncan and Diane Titchenell of Ludowici and Jerry and Celeta Duncan of Palm Harbor, FL.; brother and sister - in - law, Sammy and Nell Duncan of Waynesboro, TN; sisters and brother - in - law, Annie Jones of Barnwell, SC, Willie Jean Winn and Virginia Michaels both of Bowman, GA, Mamie Jo Peeples of Atlanta and Milner Mae and Junior Hartzog of Barnwell, SC; 11 grandchildren; 22 great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 20, 2007, in the Chapel of Brannen - Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bargeron officiating. Burial followed in the Glennville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.

John B. (Jack) Hedderick, 80

John B. (Jack) Hedderick, 80, of Collins, GA, formerly of Erie, PA, died peacefully at his home on July 18, 2007. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Hattie Hedderick of Erie, PA. He is survived by several cousins among whom are Jean Hedderick of Erie and Donna Rensel of Brecksville, OH. Special friends are Sally and Bob Senger of Bradenton, FL, Winsor Anderson Smith and Sandra Gettis of Lyons and Susan Jenkins of Statesboro.
Graveside Funeral Services were held Friday, July 20, 2007, at the Reidsville City cemetery with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating.
Pallbearers were Lang Dunham, Jesse Sharp, Thomas Jenkins, Bob Clark, and Jack Dubberly.

Sara Zorn Nobles Jones, 87

Sara Zorn Nobles Jones, 87, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Glenvue Nursing Home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of her life. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great - grandmother. She was a member of Glennville Freewill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by parents, Daniel Oreatus and Lela DeLoach Zorn, sisters; June Durrence, Delma Stanfield, Roslan Driggers and brother Dan Zorn.
She is survived by her sons and daughters - in - law, Franklin and Kathy Nobles of Glennville and Mike and Lori Jones of Plains, OH; seven grandchildren; four great - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held July 24, 2007, at Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church cemetery with Reverend Charles Barnard officiating.
Pallbearers were Eli Love, Vance Howard, Mike Howard, Richard Howard, Anthony Howard and Jimmy Howard.
Remembrances may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
