Danny Farve
Danny Farve, 51, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on December 27, 2007. Survivors include his mother and step-father Rosemary and Ted Metscher of Norman, Oklahoma., sister and husband Melodie and Doug Burnside of Stockbridge; uncles Gerald E. Bridges of Norman, Oklahoma, Robert S. Bridges and wife Emma of Enid, Oklahoma, Robert E. Puckett and wife Joan of Ooltewah, Tennessee; several cousins and numerous friends.
A memorial service was held Saturday January 5 at the Henry County Shrine Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Journey Hospice or The American Cancer Society. Cremation Society of the South in charge of arrangements.
Leonard Joseph O’Melia
Mr. Leonard Joseph “Lenny” O’Melia, age 47, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away December 27, 2007. He served his country in the United States Army; was a member of the Locust Grove First Baptist Church; and was employed with Union Local 85 at McKenney’s Mechanical. He was preceded in death by a brother, John “Jody” O’Melia.
Survivors include his wife, Christy Smith O’Melia of Locust Grove; daughters, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” O’Melia, Caitlin Briana O’Melia and Katherine Delaney O’Melia all of Locust Grove; parents, John and Sallie O’Melia of Jonesboro; siblings, Mickey O’Melia of Jonesboro, Margaret (Ann) and Daniel Benson of Jackson County, Mike and Robin O’Melia of Hampton, Karen O’Melia and Sheila Kennedy both of Jonesboro; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held December 31 at the Locust Grove First Baptist Church, Rev. Craig Bowers officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mary Morene Glaze Odom
Mary Morene Glaze Odom, age 68, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on December 27, 2007. She was born
in Murrayville, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Leola Glaze, brothers Gene, Dennis, James and Wayne. She was a 1958 graduate of Lithonia High School. Mrs. Odom was a loan officer at C&S bank for many years and later retired from Bank of America.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth of 49 years; sisters Zoralene Landress of Flovilla, Allene Pritchett of Dacula, Nadine Sease of McDonough; brothers Bobby Glaze of Conyers, Edward Glaze of Covington and several nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
There will be no funeral service. Donations may be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr. McDonough, Georgia in memory of M. Morene Odom. Cremation Society of the South in charge of arrangements.
Virgina Smith Simmons
Mrs. Virgina Smith Simmons, age 85, of McDonough,?Georgia passed away December 28, 2007. Mrs. Simmons was born
in Westerville, Ohio the daughter of the the late Eva Jaycox and Royal Smith.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Penny Simmons of McDonough and Wayne and Joni Simmons of Alabama; grandsons and their wives, Jeff and Jennifer Simmons of McDonough, Scott and Melissa Simmons and B.J. Simmons of Alabama; great grandchildren, Dylan, Katei and Kaleb Simmons; sister, Nola Horschler of Westerville, Ohio.
A memorial service for Mrs. Simmons was held December 31 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Deacon Pat Gillespie officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. William A. Gafford
Mr. William A. Gafford, age 83 of McDonough, Georgia passed away December 31, 2007. He was born
in Thomasville to the late Durwood Leonard and Annie Livingston Gafford. He was a school teacher at Henry County High School for 30 years; was the pastor of Sardis Baptist Church for ten years; and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Pauline McLeskey Gafford.
Funeral services were held January 4 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Al O’Quinn officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Brandon Dennis Partain
Mr. Brandon Dennis Partain, age 25 of McDonough, Georgia passed away December 31, 2007. Brandon was born
in Clayton County. He was a fun loving, big-hearted person who always smiled and laughed. He enjoyed skateboarding, fishing, and was known to his niece and nephew as “Unk B.” Brandon was a member of the Community Bible Church for many years. His grandfather, Dennis Willis Partain preceded him in death.
Survivors include his parents, Dennis and Brenda Partain of McDonough; sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Ryan Plunkett of Locust Grove; niece and nephew, Brayden and Lilly Plunkett of Locust Grove; maternal grandmother, Mary McDaniel of McDonough; paternal grandparents, Bruce and Vada Barnes of Sevierville, Tennessee; aunt, Dianne and Kenneth Miller of McDonough, and uncle Marcus Harrison of Jonesboro.
Funeral services were conducted January 5 at the Community Bible Church with Pastor Beau Adams officiating. Interment Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. Merrill C. Randolph, Sr.
Mr. Merrill C. “Randy” Randolph, Sr., age 86 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away January 1, 2008 at his residence. He was born
in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to the late W.C. and Aimee Martin Randolph. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean War. He retired after 20 years with Cromer & Company in Atlanta. He was a member of The Rock Baptist Church for 42 years and was the building superintendent for 12 years and also served as a Deacon. He has been a member of the Locust Grove First Baptist Church for the past three years and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping. He was preceded in death by five sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Randolph of Locust Grove; sons and daughters-in-law, Merrill and Marsha Randolph of Locust Grove, Kenneth and Susan Randolph of McDonough, Mark and Cathy Randolph of Ooltewah, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; brothers, John Randolph of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Bob Randolph of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Martin Randolph of Meadville, Pennsylvania .
Funeral services were conducted January 3 at the Rock Baptist Church. Pastor Craig Bowers and Pastor Chip King officiated. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Locust Grove First Baptist Church Building Fund or the Rock Baptist Church Cemetery
