Donald Hugh Bell
Mr. Donald Hugh Bell, age 73, of McDonough, Georgia died January 2, 2008. Mr. Bell was born
in Waycross, the son of the late Gertrude Susan Morgan and Paul Hugh Bell. Mr. Bell was self-employed as a painter. He was a member of Church of Harvest in Jonesboro He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 through 1956. He enjoyed his family, friends and cooking for family gatherings.
Survivors are his wife, Loretta Vance Bell of McDonough; children, Hiram Bell of Villa Rica, Deborah and Robert McFerrin of Rome, Larry and Doris Sorrells of Lawrenceville, Angela and Bill McClain of Locust Grove, Bill and Karen Sorrells of Snellville, Elizabeth Sorrells of Cartersville, Denise and David Wade of McDonough, and Teresa and Robert Chapman of Locust Grove; 18 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, sister, Sandra Allen of Waycross; brother, Ed Bell of Riverdale and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Bell were held January 5 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Pastor Henry Jones officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Albert David Miller
Mr. Albert David Miller, age 78, of Hampton, Georgia died January 4, 2008. Mr. Miller was born
in Ovid, Colorado the son of the late Elizabeth and John Miller. Mr. Miller was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, he served his country in the U.S. Navy, and was a devoted family man who loved and enjoyed his family, selling books on e-bay, the history channel, was an avid Braves fan and enjoyed traveling and the beach. He was preceded in death by his siblings; John and Kenneth Miller and Freida Statham.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Frankie Martin Miller of Hampton; children, Frank and Carole Miller of Morganton, Kaye and Jerry Bullard of Harlem, Jennie Miller of Hampton, Cindy and Rick Foust of Monroe, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sisters; Esther Webber of Denver, Colorado, Alice Applehans of Commerce City, Colorado, Carol Deliere of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Harold and Walter Miller of Denver and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Miller were held January 6 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Henderson and Rev Mike Patterson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Joe E. Holley
Joe E. Holley, 49, of Stockbridge, Georgia died January 6, 2008. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Holley Betsill, sisters, Bonnie Meyer and her husband Sam of Newnan, Nancy Holley Kitchens of Stockbridge, and Carmen Holley of Arkansas, two nephews, Ellis Meyer and John Stafford and one niece, Karla Kitchens, and is predeceased by his father the late Frank Holley,
A memorial service was held in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro January 12. Cremation Society of the South in charge of arrangements.
Thomas Jefferson Wade
Mr. Thomas Jefferson Wade, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia died January 6, 2008. Mr. Wade was born
in Crawford County, the son of the late Ida Bell Parker and Robert Lee Wade. Tom was born
and raised on a small family farm in Byron. Due to the Great Depression, he went to New York City at the age of eighteen along with his brothers and sisters to find work. He joined the Fire Department of New York and rose to the rank of Battalion Chief over twenty-one years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Seabees in WWII from 1943 to 1945. He returned to Georgia in 1961 with his family to raise cattle in Henry County. He and his wife Margaret were founding members of St. James Catholic Church. In 1990 he formed the Wade Cattle Farm with his son Jeff, which is still in operation. Tom was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. A son, Thomas Jefferson Wade, grandson, Gordon Anderson; sisters, Minnie Adamson, Susie Wade, Anne Robbins, Emily Smith and Nell Wade; and a brother, Benjamin Wade, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Macko Wade; children, Renee and Lester Anderson of McDonough, Andrea Lee Wade of Alexandria, Virginia, Maggie and George Hodges of College Park, and Jeff and Janet Wade of McDonough; grandchildren, Larry Anderson, Samantha and Ray Fowler, Wade and Ingrid Anderson, Maruja and Betto Ramos, Laurel Anderson, Parker Thomas Hodges, Margaret Hodges, Jackson Wade, Bella Wade, and Gracie Wade; 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Robert Calvin Wade of Lilburn; sister, Sara Wade and husband Claude Connelley of Columbia, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Mildred Wade of Macon and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Mr. Wade was held January 9 at St. James Catholic Church with Msg, Terry Young officiating. Interment Macon Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to St. James Catholic Church or the Salvation Army. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Barry Dale Jones, Jr.
Mr. Barry Dale Jones, Jr., age 31, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away January 7, 2008. Mr. Jones was born
in Fulton County. Barry was a member of Gospel Outreach Church in Stockbridge; he loved and enjoyed his family, friends and his dogs. He enjoyed camping, fishing, attending concerts and playing on his playstation. His mother, Darlene Belcher Lee, preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Crystal Jones; children, Jessica and Kaylei all of Stockbridge; father and step-mother, Barry and Joy Jones of Griffin; step-father, Michael Lee of Gwinnett County; brothers, Bryan, Nathan and Justin; grandparents, Joann and Sidney Belcher, Hill and Edna Jones, Betty Timbs and Joann Lee; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Barry Jones was held January 10 at Stockbridge Assembly of God with Pastor Douglas K. Drucker officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Annie Laurie Bushong
Annie Laurie (Anne) Bushong, age 92, of McDonough, Georgia died January 11, 2008. She was born
in Locust Grove to the late Charles W. and Katherine Cloud Glass Coan, Sr. Mrs. Bushong was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Bushong; sisters, Sara C. Champion, Jane C. Gardner; brother, Charles W. Coan, Jr.; and son-in-law, Harry L. Branan. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McDonough.
Mrs. Bushong is survived by her daughters, Kay (Harold) Branan of McDonough, Annelle Branan of McDonough; grandchildren, Allan (Julie) Branan, Steven (Jane) Branan, Lee (Sherry) Branan, Renae (Mike) Burch;10 great-grandchildren; sister, Nell C. Castellaw of Locust Grove; and several nieces and nephews.

Lucille S. Carr
Lucille S. Carr, age 97, of McDonough, Georgia died January 13, 2008. She was born
in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mapp Beasley and Dovie Miller Smith. Mrs. Carr was married
in 1930 to the late William T. Carr. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jonesboro and was part of the Glory Singers, Saints Alive and Heritage Senior Center in McDonough. She enjoyed music and was honored by the Red Cross for her many years of blood donations. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lucille Elizabeth Carr.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her son John Carr of McDonough; daughter, Josephine Rader of Florida; grandchildren, Steph-
en Carr, David Carr, William Eric Rader; great-grandchildren, Allison Carr, Emily Carr, Caitlin Carr, Haley Carr, and Logan Carr, and half-sister, Ethel Knight.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17 at the Chapel of the First Baptist Church, Jonesboro with Rev. W. Irvin Pearre officiating.
